The day all Lightning/Sally shippers cruel fate was decided. We rue that day. 
I mean, seriously though, Mater could of waited like a minute or so. They only said one thing to each other and here comes Mater to crush it all.
And that’s why it was funny. :3
Haha, I’m not going to lie. It was funny. “Mater the waiter.” 
Yes, it was funny but at the same time crushing for us poor shippers. Pixar didn’t even grant us one S&L love filled moment! Would it have killed them to show a scene of them perhaps actually missing each other? Or what about even a little peck on the fender before McQueen leaves? Ugh, such a disappointment what they did with their relationship. Too many loose ends if you know what I mean… All those tiny details make all the difference.
I always thought it was funny how Mater ruins their sweet parts.
Yes, exactly [b:21lcfpbn]MissCarrera[/b:21lcfpbn]! All of those would have been great little scenes for Lightning and Sally. Man, we need to go to Pixar, get some things straight with them. I’m so happy though that Lightning actually said he loved her and openly, too. You can definitely tell it’s not the first time he’s said it to her and at least that shows some growth and development between them and their relationship. But after such a dissapoitment with [i:21lcfpbn]no kiss[/i:21lcfpbn] at the end of Cars, I thought that they would definitely kiss this time but no cigar.
In the first one, the tractor tipping scene.
In the second one, the bathroom scene.
Mater fails at romance altogether I think. 
SallyMcQueen: Yeah, it was so unfair that they didn’t show a kiss!! I agree though, when he said that you could tell it wasn’t the first time which is sweet. <3
LOL and I liked that bathroom scene as well. Very funny.
To his credit, he did tow Lightning back to Sally during the cruising scene, and adorableness ensued until the helicopters showed up. And he did realize Lightning and Sally liked each other before either of them was willing to admit it. Mater seems to actually have a fair amount of social knowledge… except knowing when a couple wants to be left alone 9 times out of 10.
[spoil]And IMO, despite getting his face blocked by a hologram for his fail, he still didn’t look like as big an idiot when he first tried to court Holley as lightning did when he first flirted with Sally. Lightning acted like he was the Manufacturer’s gift to women and almost blinded the poor Porche. [/spoil]
This is true! I forgot about that. I think Mater likes meddling into people’s business (in a cute way!) but when it comes to romance that he’s involved…he’s a fail. 
Bahahahahaha! “Manufacturer’s gift to women.” Although, it was complete jerk-ish and made me want to strangle him, it was one of my favorite scenes and for some reason, I always like it when the couple hates each other at first, even though it’s so predictable. 
Well duh! That scene was hilarious. I mean… just… the expressions.

Speaking of awesome expressions, Mater’s reaction when Lightning later says he doesn’t like Sally. “Besides, she can’t stand me.”
He’s also shaking his head.
See! Look! Mater can tell when two cars like each other! XD
(This is another of my favorite scenes. That combined with “My best friend.” Awwwwwwww~)
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Those expressions are hilarious, especially Sally’s last one where her face is like . Oh my gosh, I never noticed his expression from the first picture in the movie! Hey Lightning, her eyes are up there.
LOL. I also like the part in this scene where Mater tries to do the "Ka-Chow!" thing and epically fails.
Awwwwwwwww, I love that other scene too. Especially the "Backwards Driving" part.
And when Lightning says "Thank you." to Sally.
Yes, I suppose Mater does have some romantic skills but you know what I mean. And the “Thank you” part…are you talking about when he goes into his cone that one night and they talk outside? I like that too. 
And the part where Sally says “No, it was much more than that” makes me want to cry every time!

Yeah, that part. I think that’s when Sally realized he started to change. Because when he said “Thank you”, she was so surprised and was like “What did you say?” and then after that, she’s all like “Oh, I trust him.” and then they went on the drive and blah, blah, blah, blah. (LOL, that reminded me of Sally. ) That whole goodbye scene makes me want to cry! 
Except for some reason, I never exactly got what Sally meant when she said to Doc, “Best for everyone or best for you?” after she finds out that he called the tabloids. I think she’s trying to say that he was selfish for doing that but it just always went over my head.
Yes, that is exactly what she meant. 'Cause everyone else was happy with McQueen being there but Doc still had issues with it. I’m guessing he thought that no one would find out that he was the one who called them. Another thing, I had to watch the movie several times before I noticed that McQueen winks at Sally before getting his tires changed. I just thought that was a cute touch. <3
It’s made even cuter when you realize that this is the first time Sally’s seen Lightning since she sadly crawled back to the motel, thinking he had left right away after fixing the road, so she’s totally surprised on a number of levels. Her expressions are adorable.

This is my current wallpaper. The look they give each other is so adorable I have a little shipper squal every time I can see my desktop now. She was totally swooning over him for half a second there! Pretty much everything involving Mater and Holley after the return to Radiator Springs makes me an extremely happy shipper. I mean look at the expressions! <3 <3 <3[/spoiler]

Nonono wait. There’s one that has nothing to do with romantic subplots: Tractor tipping, and the resulting mahem in town.

I just realized it WAS the first time she saw him after she thought he left. The expressions say it all! Awwwwwwww! <3 Ahhh, and in the 3rd picture, you can see Doc lurking in the background. Come on, Doc, lighten up. (Woah, Flo has GREEN eyes?! I didn’t see that before. Random, I know.) And I so agree with you on the Mater and Holley photo! TOOO CUUUTEEEEEE. <3 Even though they’re not a favorite couple of mine or anything, her voice when she said it and her expression…GAH. Like all my favorite parts are romance, LOL. Where do you get these photos from anyway?
The Cars 2 pic I managed to swipe from a Holley’s Hop Tips for Traveling featurette (they were advertisements targeted towards moms and other not kid!women.) Man, you should have seen me when I found that clip and got a cap! I was over the moon for an hour!
As for the first Cars, I take the caps myself. Lots and lots of caps. Like a flipbook.
