Finally got my project done, and it’s up on my dA now, I hope she likes it!

Please check it out, I worked pretty hard on it (and thanks for the tips Mitch, they really helped!)

I also put in my first journal entry, and I’d appreciate it at least a few of you read it. It’s spoiler free

Please comment!

Oh God ffdude1906! That so cool! I’m pretty sure that Mitch will love it.
I’m working something on to Mitch. But I think drawing linguini would be a hard job to do, so…I’m going to give him…just wait, would you Mitch?

Wow, That’s awesome, ffdude1906  ! I’m sure Mitch is gonna LOVE it! And, as for the journal entree, that was amazing. It sounds a lot like me. And thanks so much for the mention. That was really sweet  . God Bless you. I hope you’re able to live out all your dreams and more  !

Thanks Violet Parr, it’s amazing what this movie has put me though, especially since I joined these forums. I was trying to mention as many names as possible, but the list was getting so long! I really can’t say enough how awesome you guys are here.

 Hey ffdude1906, would you give me some advice how to draw Remy (or a rodent) much better. I see you great with it!:smiley:

Well, I made his hind legs and area a bit too skinny, so he’s not perfect. Besides that, I suggest you talk to Mitch about it, if you can. She’s the big Ratatouille junkie around here, and she’s a much better artist than I am, so she’d be able to help you draw Remy or whoever much better than I would, I’m still a beginning artist

ooh! then I’m glad! Until I learn how to make sigs im going to be asking you for help!

Haha, no problem! I’ll be happy to help!

Finished my Dug drawing, and I think it’s easily my best one yet, please check it out, and comment. I’ve been proud of my stuff (actually, all my stuff, never knew I had an artist in me) before, but I don’t think I can do much better than this at the moment.

Enjoy!

Ah! ffdude1906! You done it again!

What a fanart! I love the shadings, I love the way you did his fur. I love the way you draw him! I simply love it! Gotta put it in the ‘Cone Of Fame’ fanart folder in my laptop.

Thanks chef! I’m glad you enjoyed my big project tonight. I spent about 3-4 hours on the shading, just from the line art. Kind of tough, but I’m pretty satisfied with it!

You’re welcome! I do love your project.

The answer to the bold line: This is why I do not like draw Dug. LOL :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, I was really nervous about attempting him too, but I think Mitch’s tips really helped me out with that. My favorite part (to draw, and how it turned out) is his nose. It was pretty fun to shade, and I like how it came out.

Heheh. Yeah. I noticed it. It’s quite easy though.

that’s so cool ffdude1906! You do have a knack fro drawing Up characters

Thanks woody! I’m glad you like it! Doing these Up drawings is definitely a labor of love. I’ve been thinking a lot about drawing Wall•E lately, and I want to do a picture of Carl and Ellie. I have a specific one in mind, but I have to wait for the DVD. Except for Remy, I haven’t even done anything else!

I also want do draw young Muntz, I love how he looks, the picture where he’s holding a cane on his shoulder specifically, he looks so dapper!

It looks really good, ffdude1906, especially seeing as how you really have only started to seriously draw!! I applaud you for nailing the look of Dug like, spot-on - it looks fantastic and looks just like him, which is really a hard thing to get sometimes.

My only complaint would be that the top of his face is way too light; your eyes are immediately drawn to the darker shading below and therefore completely miss his face. I’m not sure if this is a scanner thing, or if the shading itself was just lighter at the top. If the latter is the case, the eyes could be outlined a lot darker so they really stand out.

And it’s funny - animal noses are so much fun to draw… especially Dug’s! xDDD

Keep up the excellent work, dude! It’s looking great and you just keep better and better! Make sure it doesn’t get to your head, though. There’s a fine line between being proud of your artwork and being a self-centered jerk. I’m not saying you are, that’s just the advice that was given to me a while back when I really started becoming confident in my artwork. Sometimes you can become a little too confident.

Never give up! Keep pursuing this - you have potential!!!

little chef

Yeah, I had trouble trying to get the shading on his face right, it’s still too light, as you said. I may darken it and update it, and try to get the hair more defined on his belly as well.

I do like to tell as many people I can about stuff I do, especially since I’ve been surprising myself, but I get these bursts of subconsciousness where I feel like I’m being a bit of a snob about it. It’s hard for me to hold it back, I tend to get excited very easily. Sorry if I come off as a jerk about this stuff, I just keep progressing and impressing myself! I tend to show off from time to time to get people to pay attention to me, which is bad for this place since I know I don’t need to do that for you guys to appreciate me and it makes it worse. I suppose it’s a good thing that I’m aware of it, but I still need to try to control it better. It’s hard for me to be humble sometimes.

Thanks for the compliments! I really appreciate it, I’m having a blast making this stuff!

Dug looks really great, ffdude1906! Like little chef said, the shading on his head is really light and his tongue needs some shading. I’ll tell you something that I’ve been beaten over the head with by my professors. When shading, make sure your darks dark and your lights light. Creating some nice contrast really make a piece pop and helps it look more volumetric. So don’t be afraid to make things really dark! I still have to remind myself to do that when I shade.

It’s cool to see your work progress with each drawing you do!

I’m starting a series, it’s Carl’s age progression, found on the inside cover of the Art of Up. I’ve got ages 5 and 8 done, age 5 looks better, and it only took me 15 minutes! I’m getting the hang of this!

Here’s a preview:

Lemme know what you think! I’m going to work now, I’ll be working on this when I get back. I’m pretty excited, I think my one of him at 5 is pretty great, but again, I need to be humble!

Yep. Carl in his age 5 looks much more better. For his aged 8…hmm…not really.
A little of advice (I’m not good as you, but I hope you’d take my advice). Keep his head proportioned to the body. You don’t want him to look…very…slopey.

 Overall, I LOVE IT! Congrats! And I gotta say your drawings are improving.
