Finding Dory

I’m a bit new and heading to the introduction thread, but just wanted to comment here.

I was honestly surprised when I heard that there’s going to be Finding Nemo 2. I can’t say that I’m exactly pleased about it; after all, Pixar’s sequels are not just add-ons the way Disney’s tend to be. They’re actually counted as feature films. I think that Finding Nemo ended on a lovely note. I’m worried that what happened to Cars 2 (which wasn’t awful, but just not Pixar-like, for me.) will happen to Nemo 2. I think it might not contribute positively to the beautiful film that Finding Nemo was. I don’t doubt the skill of the guys at Pixar, but I’m not so sure. :frowning:

I still don’t want this. If Nemo 2 turns out to be a great film, then that’s good

Would be great to have another finding nemo - let’s just hope it goes the way of toy story 2 and 3 rather than how a lot of sequels turn out!

(Although toy story 3 was much better than 2 I think)

I’m hoping that it has a good plot to it, and not just showing the life of Nemo after it.

Well based on what I’ve seen about the upcoming movies, if Finding Nemo 2 does come out, it wont be for quite some time.

Do you think it could be set when Nemo is grown up? Maybe it involves one of his kids or something.

^That could be… it would make sense, considering Alexander Gould is all grown up now. It’s got to be tricky to write something like that, considering a lot of Disney sequels go that direction of the second-generation-(insert character here) story. Not that I’m totally against Disney sequels or anything; I just know that whatever Pixar does, it’ll be different and pure awesome! Maybe Nemo will be a teenager, but then that could easily start sounding like Brave, so I don’t know really… but who knows?

Yeah, I also thought of an idea where Nemo is a teenager and has another misunderstanding with Marlin and runs away. I don’t know how creative that would be though.

Oh no, please NO sequel of “Finding Nemo”! The film is perfect alone, it don’t needs a sequel to be better … argh, please not …

Is this still happening? Sorry, I can’t remember. I don’t think Pixar confirmed anything yet, but I heard that Andrew Stanton did although I thought it was most people trying to imply this by the way he said something in an interview.

I have not heard anything since those quotes came out…

It’s still happening, and both Albert Brooks and Ellen Degeneres are on board already.

Whoo-hoo! Nemo 2! Pumps fist in the air
…Yes, I’m still cool with it

So, they really ARE making a sequel? Oh, man… So, is Nemo gonna get lost again, or is Dory gonna get lost?

The sequel hs been confirmed and Brooks is set to reprise his role:

(Sigh) I still think this may be a bad idea. I don’t see a point in a sequel. It ended perfectly.

I’m still not going to believe in these updates or anything until Pixar themselves comes out and confirms that Finding Nemo 2 is happening.

Well, the film was pretty much confirmed by Stanton in an interview with Los Angeles Times back in September, if you remember.

This is simply a further confirmation of that fact and now that Brooks has signed up (or at least entered the negotiations, to say the least).

I’m pretty sure we can believe Stanton.

I was and still am dissapointed. Pixar has become too sequel oriented, I feel in recent times.
