Five chapters and an awesome title?! I’m in!
Awww! I am getting SO pumped to unveil it, I just finished the most epic chapter in it and I hope it will bring more love towards the idea of Finn and Holley. I will be sure to post the link on this thread when I get it out!
I’m late to this thread! But I like the idea of Finn being Holley’s mentor, as opposed to her boyfriend. I like the idea of Holley and Mater together way better.
And these thoughts make me raise questions to Finn’s background. Does he have a spouse? Or is he more of a single guy. Perhaps he’s a bit hesitant to be in a relationship because of his dangerous line of work.
I definitely think he’s single right now. Personally, I always thought that he had a sweetheart some time ago but something happened to her and she died.
I agree. I love Finn, and he’s one of my favorite characters. But this pairing just makes me nauseous.
Well,Finn is old for Holley …but then again Mater is too…
This. I’m not so sure if she died or not but I get the vibe that something happened and they fell through.
Thank you. I can understand if people don’t think they make a good pairing for reasons such as “they see him more as a father/mentor”, I totally get that, but when they try and use age as an excuse it irks me.
Hmmm, I can see that!
I do like Finn McMissle as he reminds me of James Bond a bit. Holley I didn’t care for too much but she was an alright character.
I actually liked Holley I thought she was hot if I was a car she would be my girlfriend…
I know you’re not the first person to think that (not meaning me)
As much as I like Finn/Holley better than Mater/Holley, I simply can’t picture her settilng down with either of them. I mean, Finn McMissile -being as experienced as a veteran spy can be- clearly said “friendships can be dangerous in our line of work…”, and I presume Holley followed his advice, to “keep a low profile”. I can see in the movie she cares greatly for both of them, and I don’t think she’d like either of them to be in danger due to a relationship.
Also, does anyone else wonder what happened with that cute, little crush Mater had on Doreen? Well, I know a lot of years had probably passed since then, and she may not get back to Radiator Springs, but I dislike the way Disney just leave her out. Or what about that pink and white female racecar from the Maternational videogame? It seemed like another pairing, but then again, she was just left out. Said pairings may not have enough potential, but seriously, do they really have to make Mater get involved with so many girls?
^I really like the points of your last paragraph. If they were going to make a Mater pairing I would really like to see him with this “Doreen” whom he first spoke of. And I’m glad someone else noticed that thing from the Maternational game too. I think her name was Emma and basically it was similar to Holley if you ask me. She was even British! That’s why the Mater/Holley pairing always just felt like “we’re just putting him with a girl for the sake of it” to me. That’s why I didn’t buy the relationship.
Who’s Doreen?
Doreen, if I am remembering correctly, was a truck Mater had a crush on. She’s mentioned in the first movie, Reaper052
^Correct. When he said, “I once knew this girl named Doreen…goood lookin’ girl”. So I thought it would be cute if she had made and appearance in Cars 2 if they wanted to give him a love interest.
And she would’ve been more near his age, because dating someone like what? 20,30 something years older than you is just…ewwww…
I know! And I just think it would have been a lot sweeter in my opinion. But can we get back to talking about FINN and Holley? Mater should stay over on his own board.
I never knew that Mater had a girlfriend before! I might have to rewatch Cars sometime and find out when he said it. Anyway, I think Finn would of been a better fit for Holley then Mater.
Well, he doesn’t say she was a girlfriend but it could be assumed. It is quite funny when he mentions it to McQueen! And I agree, Finn may not be a perfect fit (regarding age or other factors) but he is definetely better than Mater in my eyes.
