"…What are you [i:p4y0a1wb]talking[/i:p4y0a1wb] about?"
[quote="Ballboi":p4y0a1wb]I might have to rewatch Cars sometime and find out when he said it.[/quote:p4y0a1wb]
It was right after Lightning sees Sally’s tattoo and before him and Mater go tractor tipping.
Finn or Mater? I don’t even know whose better with Holley. Let’s just pair her with Professor Z and get it over with. JOKING. Mater/Holley is cute on the fact that it’s classic. The whole "Beauty and the Beast" thing- we’ve seen it so many times. [i:p4y0a1wb]But[/i:p4y0a1wb] because of that, it’s extremely predictable and boring. I don’t know about you guys but when Finn and Holley first said "Hello" to each other at the Tokyo Gala, I thought they were flirting. It just looked and sounded that way or maybe that was just extreme spy suaveness. I can’t stop thinking of Finn as more of a mentor to Holley than a boyfriend but like [b:p4y0a1wb]MC[/b:p4y0a1wb] said, it’s better than Mater…I mean, come on Holley- they’re both old. Maybe she has a thing for older men (Yeah, not even going further on that subject).
SallyMcQueen: I totally agree! They really did seem like they were flirting! So glad I am not the only one who got that impression! And hey, who says she has a thing for either of them…there could be other potential guys in her life.
I just don’t understand why Mater got the girl instead of Finn. Anyway, I didn’t get to watch Cars because my disc didn’t work. It just plays the trailers and then fades to black.
^That stinks! I think the reason they probably gave the girl to Mater was because he was a main character. Giving her to Finn wouldn’t make much sense because it would be like having a random love story on the side.
I don’t know for sure either. At first it felt weird because of Mater’s antics at [spoil]the party scene[/spoil] but as the movie progressed it made more sense.
That’s exactly it. I couldn’t tell you the jist of how their relationship came to be because there was honestly nothing there that made me truly believe it. Other than the whole [spoil]thing where Mater taught that symbolic thing about keeping dents to Holley[/spoil].
Ummm, exactly. “Oh, Mater likes Holley. She doesn’t really like him.” ~SPY STUFF, SPY STUFF, WHOLE REST OF THE MOVIE~ “Wait, Holley likes him now?..Well, how did that happen?!”
That was the only part where they “connected” in a way. But come on, they magically fall in love because of…keeping dents?
I think Lightning and Sally have more chemestry than Mater and Holley. There’s more love between lightning and sally and it seen how they were more and more in love and the growth about their feelings for each other. And that’s why I love this couple!!! <3
I like to say “comment of the day” when I find one, and this is today’s! Oh my gosh, I am seriously ‘rolling on floor laughing’. “SPY STUFF, SPY STUFF, WHOLE REST OF MOVIE” That was amazing, couldn’t have said it better myself.
Any Finn/Holley fans can check out my new fic “Dangerous Keepings” if you like! It’s a story based on them so just click the link in my signature if you want to read it!
I felt that the entire spy plot could of been better if Mater wasn’t involved with it. The whole time it mostly felt like Mater’s antics with the two British spies.
MissCarrera: Hahahaha! Yes, comment of the day! I’m glad I can amuse you!
It did feel like that. To me, it made me kind of lose a little tiny bit of credibility in Finn and Holley’s character smarts too. You’re British secret agents and you can’t figure out that this tow truck is really…just a tow truck.
Exactly. I thought that the whole spy plot would been alot better if Mater wasn’t involed with it. It just felt kind of distracting that he was a part of most of it.
Same here. Imagine what it would be like if instead of Mater, Lightning got more caught up in the spy plot. Heeheee, I’m laughing just thinking about it.
On-topic. Do any of you want to share any awesome Finn/Holley fanfiction?
Exactly. Take Silent film comedian Buster Keaton. He was 45 when he married his third wife who was then 22. That’s a 23 year age difference! But they stayed happily married until his death, for well over 20 years.
Kim K and her more recent husband Kris Humpries were only 5 years apart, and their marriage lasted like what, 2 weeks?
So age doesn’t matter to make a successful relationship.
