I hate it when people act like that about anything new from Disney or Pixar or any other company/creator that’s been pretty consistently good. The end of Disney? Um, hello how much you enjoyed Princess and the Frog, Winnie the Pooh, Tangled, Wreck-It Ralph?
In terms of just a silly little teaser, I have to say, it’s really cute and the humor reminds me of a Mickey Mouse short. It’s warmed on me a lot. (no puns intended)
I also completely agree with IV’s post above. Sometimes, I have to think to myself if a Renaissance film came out now how people would react. They’d probably still mostly enjoy it, but nostalgia sure as heck plays a factor and they can’t deny it! I mean, a good movie is a good movie, but it’s hard not to just see these things with jaded adult eyes. I would love all of this new stuff without question whether I was 5 or 15 now.
Yes. The 90’s movies are great, some of my favorites. But regardless, there’s something to be said that can be enjoyed just as much now that we’re young adults and don’t have nostalgia for the newer ones.
All this backlash I’ve seen on tumblr. People on tumblr have generally been very excited about recent Disney movies. There are HUGE fandoms for Tangled and Wreck it Ralph there.
What I think it is is that people were expecting an epic trailer, with Anna and all that, with the soaring music and all that. But instead there was a goofy little cute trailer. And people didn’t get what they wanted and whined about it.
I know that. All I know is that when they heard a trailer/teaser was going to be released, everyone got super stoaked. And then they just whined about it being “too childish” and “too goofy”
(to them) Hello! That’s how animated films are marketed, I’m sorry, it sucks. Remember Tangled? It had terrible trailers. Awful, I almost didn’t want to see it. But it was a remarkable and beautiful film.
Eh, I wouldn’t take it too seriously. Some people on Tumblr are the kinds who tag their hate, even when it’s kind of an unwritten rule to not tag your hate because it is disrespectful towards the people who do like it. There’s a lot of people who do like it in every tag, but it just takes some time.
Believe me, I know. I saw enough hostile comments towards my favourite cartoons Regular Show and Viva Pinata, and more than should be neccesary. ;_;
I always try to tell people that a trailer is not a correct representative of the final product but people just refuse to believe me sometimes…
“Frozen” video from Japan!!! I strongly suggest putting the audio on mute; I personally couldn’t take it seriously with the Japanese voice over. But man oh man, this is looking pretty cool!
You’re welcome! I’m kind of disappointed that Japan is getting this cool footage before we are in the US. What gives, Disney? I liked the teaser that was shown before Monsters University just fine, but I’m just dying for an epic trailer that really shows us what this movie’s made of!
I cant say I was all that impressed with the trailer thats being shown with Monsters U. The Japanese clip told me more about the movie than the teaser trailer did. And from that I can say it looks kinda cool. I know teasers dont really give much of the story away but I like to see at least a glimpse of what it may be about. If I knew nothing about this movie I’d figure it was about a snowman. Not to say I’m hating on the trailer, because it did have its amusing aspects.
To be honest, my first impression of the snowman was not good, either. But then I remembered I felt the same way when I saw Ray in the teaser of The Princess and the Frog and Vanellope in the trailer of Wreck-It Ralph. I thought they were annoying, then later on in the movies, I ended up really liking them. Maybe I’ll feel the same for the snowman as more gets revealed.
