Happy Feet

Wow – what an astonishingly

beautiful film…

I know I sat in my theater seat with expectations, but what I didn’t

expect was a delectable feast of spectacular story-telling and animation…

It was enough excitement from

the first start, what with the premiere – and first glimpse – of the Harry Potter and the Order

of the Phoenix trailer; however, that was not what drew me to that cinema. That was

not what kept me huddled in my seat. What kept me in my seat, tapping on my feet,

was an astounding aray of sounds, the beautific melody of settings, and the complex (yet incredible) design of

the film in its entirety.

From Mumble’s trials and tests as an outcast, to virtually losing his mind

among other living beings, to seeing the success of his colony, which he managed to save, brought me a sense of

joy – a rare…rather unique…smile that I only bring with me on special occassions.

Spoil the film for

you, I will not. You will just have to see it for yourself.

All I can say is that it was

beautiful, it was hilarious, and it captured my heart…

– Mitch –

P.S. By the

way, I would like to thank the distributors of this wonderful feature for dedicating this film to the

unforgettable Steve Irwin, among other people. We loved you Steve – we miss you dearly.

This was an amazing film! The film fell a bit flat the last third when we got into the tree-hugging,

environmentalist, liberal moral that screwed up the story line, pace, and comedy - but the first half more than

made up for it. I laughed harder than ever before in the first half. And the music was amazing. It was

actually very adult film - caused my mouth to drop a few times. Overall I was super thrilled and excited with

this movie though! =D

I want to see it! I haven’t yet, but all of the penguins just look absolutely adoreable. I’ll watch it with my

family over the week I guess.

Dash - Thank you for the reply. I’m glad you enjoyed it!

Yes, wasn’t the music and scenery amazing? I almost got out of my seat to start tap dancing…

(heheh) And yeah – the “environmentalist” aspect of the film did go a little “over the top”

at times, but I still enjoyed it overall.

The Star Swordsman - Ohhh…you

have to see it! Take a day off and…go the theater or…something. Or have fun

watching it with your family, like you said.

I’ve been meaning to see this film for a while now. I think I saw the advert before seeing

March Of The Penguins in the cinema, and it looked very funny and quite interesting, to say the least. I’ll

probably end up not seeing it in the cinema, but getting it on DVD when it is released.

i’m probably gonna see it next weekend

.

robon williams is my idol ( even though he has a drinking problem , but him being able to admit it

makes him even more my idol ) , so i’ll probably like it

I haven’t seen

it yet, but I want to ask anyone who has: has it affected your predictions (if any) for the Academy Award for

Best Animated Feature? I’ve decided not to commit to any one film in this category. If it comes down to Cars,

Happy Feet and Flushed Away, then it looks like animation as an industry wins overall, whatever the result.

RMS: To answer your question:

To tell you the truth, I think that

Cars just may have some very tough competition following the release of

Happy Feet. This particular film has been so effective at the box office that

Cars may have to “cross its tires”, so to speak, and hope that it will nab

the number one title of Best Animated Feature Film at the Oscars next February.

As a matter of fact,

Happy Feet might just pull it off. And, please don’t hate me for this guys,

but…(gulps)…I like Happy Feet more than Cars.

Why should I hate you

for that? I like Antz more than A Bug’s

Life.

Gets lynched

RMS Oceanic - Well…I dunno. I just assumed that, since everone here is an

official Pixar geek, it would sound a little odd for me to say that I love a certain film over another,

“Pixarian” production. I know now that I was wrong.

And you like

Antz more, huh? I have yet to see that film – I heard that it was good.

However, I probably should get back on-topic now. Heh.

Mitch: Antz is a good flim you should see

it but I think they had way to much cussing. :frowning:

They cursed in Antz? When was that? And what was the rating of the film?

I?m not exactly sure how many times they cussed

in Antz but they cussed quit a few times.

Let’s get back on

topic.

those pengins in

Happy Feet remind me of those dancing lemurs in Madgascar and the pengins in that movie ( but the pengins in

Madagascar don’t dance.)

Ditto! *breathes

sigh of relief*

And about Cars versus Flushed Away and Happy Feet…Well, I guess we’ll just have

to wait and see, but as the competition is so tough, if Pixar ends up with the award anyway, then that proves

that Cars really deserved it. If not, then hey, oh well- it’s going to be going to a good film either way.

You’re absolutely right. As John Lasseter said, it’s

better to be in the midst of a thriving industry, than top dog of a dead one. Oscars you can’t predict are far

more interesting anyway.

Mentions his still waiting for Happy Feet in order to keep on topic

I’m going to see it, when it comes out here on December

1st!! Can’t wait for those dancing penguins!

My sister and cousins saw it. THey thought it was cute. I can see why. My uncle went to see it

too and he was like

“Must. . . see. . . Casino. . . Royale!”

My friend told me this movie

was for little kids and girls, but I disagree. that movie is made for anybody.

The Star Swordsman - Haha – I wonder why your uncle even

went to see it? :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes, you are quite right. The film is not just for giggling girls and screaming little

kids – it’s for everyone. I sure loved it, in any case. Heck, I loved it more than

Cars, and that’s saying something. I hope that Pixar animators aren’t reading this

post… (snigger)

The reason why is

because he drove them up there and to supervise them.
