Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part II

GUYS GUY GUYS good news! i’m in i’m in i’m in!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
(gasp, pant, wheeze) I got in this morning! My dad and I were trying to get in last night but the internet was down. Today he opened the page and we both freaked! I was able to register, but i couldn’t sign in because it took too long. I went to my friend’s house for a drama club meeting and we tried it and I was able to sign in! I was happy that I accidentally hit one of my friends )
And we were so happy that we cried.

That’s great, mayfly. Congratulations

Very great! What is your username?

Congrats mayfly!! Hahaha I know the feeling  I was shaking when I first logged in!

And nopers, I haven’t gotten the second email yet! It should come sometime soon for the first people though, cause once the Magical Quill challenge is over (which it is!) is when people’ll start getting them. So soonish I’d hope!

And I’m LumosAuror33 if anyone wants to add me when we get in!

Me too, Im BladeLumos21.

Congratulations, Mayfly! I’m glad that you finally got in.
And I’ll add everyone in this thread who has registered once I’m able to get in.

Yay thank you guys! I’m waiting for the email right now, and I will try to find you once I’m in. My username is PurpleSnitch178. I’m so excited!! I got in on the last day, so i’m expecting the eamil any day now.

And for those anxious about the friend I hit, he is doing fine now.

Congrats to everyone who made it in Pottermore and became a part of wizarding history!

Well, critical and commercial reception has been good for Harry’s swan song. I heard from the friend I watched the movie with that Rowling might continue the series in the form of [spoil]Harry and his friend’s kids[/spoil], but I hope to God she doesn’t pull an ‘On Stranger Tides’/‘Toy Story 4’/‘Shrek Forever After’ and milk this franchise to death. Let us leave Harry’s legacy to our imagination, as much as we would love to the story to go on forever.

I have not read the final book (well, I read halfway up to the point where he visited Godric’s Hollow), but on the film’s own merits, it is an excellent conclusion and one of my top movies of the year. Some parts were so serious to the point of being unintentionally funny ([spoil]Longbottom’s outrunning of a collapsing bridge with all the Death Eaters falling to their doom[/spoil], for one), but for the most part, they succeeded in making this a solemn and definitive end to a decade-long adventure.

Plus, hearing ‘Leaving Hogwarts’ turned on the waterworks for me.

I’ve posted my review a few pages back, but here’s the blog link in case anyone missed out on it. Needless to say, I really enjoyed the explosive final chapter in Harry’s story, and I can’t wait to see it again when the DVD comes out.

P.S. For your amusement, here’s a Parseltongue translator you might wanna check out. I swear, after English, Malay and French, I’m gonna make ‘Snake-speak’ my fourth language!

I saw this movie recently and I have to say I found it better than the book. (Then again I did not like the book and simply went because a friend wanted to).

Granted that may be because the movie benefited from the fact it didn’t have to stick with Harry all the time like in the books- for instance obviously seeing [spoil]Hermione and Ron destroy a Horcrux in the Chamber of Secrets was better than having to read them telling Harry about it second hand[/spoil]. Plus there were emotional moments instigated too- [spoil]I dispised Tonks/Lupin in the books but their one moment in the movie did leave me a little teary eyed. Also I was glad they removed Harry’s dratted torture scene and McG praising him for it.[/spoil]

I wouldn’t say it was perfect and [spoil]I still disliked the fact that because Pansy simply spoke up all of slytherin were sent away, I mean unlike the book, Slytherin didn’t even move to take Harry anyway[/spoil]- but given the material at hand, the film makers did pretty well. It emotionally speaking, fared far better as it got to show rather than tell which unfortunatly the book had to- thus resulting in very boring retellings of certain things which may have been interesting or good to see first hand.

He’s misinformed, but thanks to the classic stupid rumors of always, a lot of people are.

Hmm, I hope so and hope not at the same time. I’m interested to know what happens and even thought up some theories but it’s better to leave it at that.

Whoa! That is so cool!

Well, I suppose only Rowling knows what’s next on her schedule. But it’s great, then, I suppose! I wouldn’t want the series to continue either.

Thanks, glad you liked it!

Thats awesome!

I just got an Email saying that I have been selected for early entry into Pottermore! YES! WOO-HOO!

WHAT IN THE TOM MARVOLO RIDDLE IS POTTERMORE!?

Pottermore, my dear befuddled friend, is an epic online site in which members can read more about the HP universe. Early birds can also shape the way the site functions.

And you can get in in october. right?

Yup, it opens to everyone in October but the early access is closed now. Did anyone actually get in yet? I heard the welcome emails were going out now
