Harry Potter

After seeing the back &

forth conversations on the RENT page, I thought it just be best to throw all HP conversations

here.

Anyways . . . which book was your favorite?? Which Movie was your favorite??

I’ve seen all the movies. I haven’t read any of the books, but I’ve been meaning to

buy them all. I hear the books are way better than the movies because there’s a lot of information from the

books that gets cut out of the movies.

I’ve been a Harry Potter fan since right before the release of

Goblet Of Fire in theaters. I even did some HP comic book pages and a cover for college. GOF is the best one so

far.

My favorite character is Draco Malfoy. Go Slytherin!

I like the third book, but I love to watch the 4th movie.

Maybe it’s because I’m in love with Cho. I thought she is cute. I think she should’ve gone out with Harry,

but that’s in my opinion

I love the movies. I think I like the fourth and the third one the best. I really regret

abandoning the books, but I guess that is what happens when someone spoils the ending for you.

I love the books

so much more than the movies. In order they are:

Half-Blood Prince
Prisoner of

Azkaban
Goblet of Fire
Order of the Phoenix
Chamber of Secrets
Sorceror’s

Stone

Movie wise it’s:

Chamber of Secrets
Sorceror’s

Stone
Goblet of Fire
Prisoner of Azkaban (worst movie to represent the book IMO)

Prisoner of Azkaban is my

favourite of the books. I’ve read and re-read them all, but I must have re-read PoA about a dozen times more

than any of the others! Remus and Sirius are my favourite characters, so that’s probably why I love PoA

best. It’s hard to choose a second favourite, I’d say maybe a tie between Order of the

Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince.

I got into Harry

Potter during my first year at uni. Usually, I prefer to stay away from things with so much hype

around them because – like VimFuego was saying earlier – you do get the fans that just ruin it for you. But I

love to write, and I figured if J. K. Rowling’s selling so many books, she must have a hint or two for me.

Philosopher’s Stone was on sale after Christmas, so I picked it up and started

flicking through the pages. Twenty minutes later, I was two chapters in and utterly hooked. I’d missed the

subway train to uni, and I had three very annoyed looking sales people glaring at me. I went out the next day to

get the rest of the series – they’re addictive! I booked the first movie on pay per view after I’d

finished the book, and I was really, really disappointed with it, and the same with Chamber of

Secrets. When they got a new director in and made Prisoner of

Azkaban a little moodier and more atmospheric, as well as so aesthetic and beautifully framed, I

was much happier. Goblet of Fire was very well done, too, but there’s an awful lot

I miss from the books. PS and CoS are the weakest of the series in my opinion, I just don’t think Columbus did

a very good job with it, especially in comparison to Alfonso Curoan (I know I’ve spelt that wrong), and Mike

Newell.

I’m going to stop talking now.

Oh dear, how I love my Harry Potter. I think JK Rowling is just brilliant. And you can see her

improvement as a writer when you go back and read the first book. It’s still good but it lacks some of the depth

the later ones have.

My favorite would have to be Half-Blood Prince. There’s just a lot of scenes in it

that I love reading about… I really liked the first day of potions class where Felix Felicis is described… it

just sounds so… happy. And then theres couplings that emerge in this book and they were all the ones I wanted.

So yay.

My favorite movie would probably be… the fourth movie. It just has a lot of what I would expect

from a Harry Potter movie. I didnt like the first 2 because I found them rather boring. And Harry’s fetish for

touching dead/petrified peoples hands is… creepy.

But all that is just my opinion.

Read all the books and watched all the movies.

I don’t think JK Rowling’s writing is very good, but her story-telling is excellent. My favourite book would

probably be the most recent one (Half-Blood Prince) because it really involves Snape, who is my favourite

character. Oh, I wonder how the seventh book will end…

I really don’t want to

jinx it but I have a pretty good feeling that we may get a treat on JKR’s site this July 31 . . .

I actually can’t tell if Rowlings writing is good or

not… her story-telling and just… everything else… overpowers that factor. I think she’s a good writer in the

way that she always keeps the readers on board. I also like the fact that she likes describing food. It always

makes me hungry (and a lot of it’s stuff I don’t eat!)

The thing I love about JK Rowling is that she’s

amazingly clever. She plants everything in beforehand and then opens up all these possibilities and room for

theories. She makes people think and even things like her website are clever. I love all the secret and hidden

things she puts on there.

And she also brought forth the world of Harry Potter… which has given me a lot

to do and talk about.

gasp What is it? Will she announce the

release date for the seventh book?

That’s the thing . . . we

don’t know what. But she hasn’t done anything on that site since the W.O.M.B.A.T. Level I on April Fool’s

Day, so I imagine something should be happening pretty soon . . . I hope.

Hopefully but JKR mentioned that when she doesnt update her website that means she is working

furiously on the next installment. Which is good news, yeah? Except I almost dont want the last book to come out

so soon… im gonna be really sad when the whole series ends and theres no more books to be released… (besides

the encyclopedia which should be very exciting)

The encyclopedia WILL be exciting if she makes

it. I also really hope she gets around to make Hogwarts, A History as well!

Indeed. I would love to see her write more books after the

end of the series. I’m gonna have serious problems when it all ends… currently I can’t go to sleep without

re-reading a little Harry Potter first… <3

This is the first I’ve heard of this encyclopedia, but that would be a brilliant

move. I’d buy it.

~~=oP

Basically it’s going to be all of JKR’s background

information… because she has boxes and boxes of it. This would problably include the history of some

characters… just things that have happened previously in detail. JKR has just about everything written out and

planned.

Exactly, so stories like

Dean Thomas’ father can finally be released to the public and stuff (though JKR’s pretty much told the story on

the site . . .)

What’s the site’s URL?

My favorite book is The Half-Blood Prince, and my favorite movie is the Prisoner

of Azkaban.

Pretty easy to remember, no?
