Yep! Seen 'em all! Have 'em all on DVD too!
LightingandSally- Yes, same here! Ever since TS came
out, I’ve watched these films over and over.
If I hadn’t seen them all, I
wouldn’t be here today.
Heheh – yep, I have indeed seen every single Pixar film and short several
times. Heck, I even have some of the film dvd bonus features memorized. I’m a geek…and proud of it!
Here is my tally, if you want it:
Toy Story: 20+
A
Bug’s Life: 10+
Toy Story 2: 25+
Monsters
Inc.: 30+
Finding Nemo: 64
The
Incredibles: 20+
Cars: 20-30
As you can see,
Finding Nemo is my favorite. I’m still trying to get to a hundred.
Mitch has a good idea.
Toy Story: 30+
A Bug’s
Life: 15+
Toy Story 2: 30+
Monster’s Inc: 10+
Finding Nemo: 40+
Incredibles: (an average of once a
day)
Cars: 4 times.
The Star Swordsman - Heheh – thank you. You said that last time I did the
“movie count”, too.
Holy smokes – an average of once a day?
Great balls of fire! You must really love The Incredibles. (snigger) Although, I
guess I should talk…judging by the number of times I’ve seen Finding Nemo.
YEs it’s true. Once a day.
It is amazing what will happen to you if you are really obsessed.
Yep,Pixar I love you!
Yep, seen and love them all. I’ve seen most of the films about ten to fifteen times (except for Cars, which
I’ve only seen twice), but I’ve seen Monsters, Inc. once a month since it came out so that must be
about…70-80 times? Meh, it’s worth it to see Randall in action.
The Star Swordsman - Haha – obviously. But you
have to admit that it’s fun being an obsessed fan. (snigger)
lizardgirl -
(snigger) Perhaps one day I’ll understand you guys’ fascination for Randall.
Woah – that’s alot
of viewings! You’ve seen Monsters Inc. more than I’ve watched
Finding Nemo!
Of course Iv’e seen them all!!! What
kind of Pixar fan would I be?
Mitch: Yes it is.
Bill: It all depends on how many
times have you seen it.
TSS- I don’t think someone is a better Pixar fan if they’ve seen the films more
time than somebody else. It doesn’t really matter how many times someone has seen a film, because that doesn’t
affect how much they love it.
So fandom is just based on actual love and expression then. I see. Anyways, I
guess if you watch a movie a lot, more than once, you would be considered a fan.
In the
world of my family, there are four “rankings” concerning fandom. From lowest to highest…they are:
Fan - You’ve seen the film more than once and know the names of all the
main characters. Every once in a while, you’ll take the time to buy a toy or two that deals with the movie.
Obsessed Fan - You’ve seen the film more than 10 or 20 times, know the
names of all the characters (major and minor), can recite the entire movie word-for-word, and will make it a
point to collect as much merchandise as possible that is related to the film. You will also attend special
seminars, meetings, clubs, and/or conventions on the same subject.
Geek - You
definitely know your stuff when it comes to your favorite movie. All dialogue, character names, movements of the
characters, pausing in-between lines/phrases, and more are in your bag. People don’t have to ask you twice what
color Princess Leia’s eyes are or how many super heroes actually make an appearance in The
Incredibles. Skipping a convention on the subject or passing up a toy that deals with the film is
beyond your comprehension – you simply must be there or
have to have it.
“Ook” - You are the
ultimate fan, and all of the above applies to you…and more. You may as well have worked on the film, you know
it so well. The “ooks” are the ones who have the really expensive merchandise: autographed
books/posters/etc., over-priced books, limited edition toys, and more… They’ve probably met their favorite
(voice) actor at least once in their life, not to mention…they can sometimes get really ticked off when someone
gets a fact wrong about their favorite film.
My sister is an obsessed
fan of Tim Burton’s works.
My dad is a Star Wars
“ook”.
My mom is a Master and Commander: The Far Side of
the World geek.
I am a Pixar Animation Studios
geek and a Finding Nemo and
Ratatouille “ook”.
Just to let you
know, “ook” is a special term that we use in my family to describe someone who is extremely obsessed
with something beyond all means.
But, like lizardgirl said, it doesn’t
really matter how many toys you have or how many times you’ve seen your favorite film; it’s what the thing
means to you, personally, that matters.
I would consider myself an Incredibles Ook, and a Pixar Geek.
The Star
Swordsman - I knew it.
These rankings can also apply to how much you favor a
particular character, as well. For example, PixarVixen is a big fan of Tony
Rydinger, so she could probably be classified as a Tony geek or
“ook”, depending on her level of obsession.
Knowing
PV, I would classify her as an ook.
Mitch- I like the idea of your ratings system, but I just…I dunno…I mean, I
can’t be classified as an Ook because I have next to no Randall or Monsters, Inc. merchandise- I have a few
books and a Randall plushie, and that’s pretty much it- but I’d still consider myself one of Randall’s biggest
fans because if there is ever a time in the day when I’m not really thinking or doing anything, I’ll
automatically start to think about Randall. There are always gonna be people who collect all the merchandise of
something, and well done to them for being so determined and everything, but I still honestly believe that what
you feel for a character or film matters more than the stuff that you have from it.
Still, being an Ook
sounds cool! It’s a very good word. And, nine times out of ten, your nifty fan rating system will
apply.
Heheh. Oh, Mitch…If you had any idea how
“ooky” I was over Tony…My fascination is on an unbelievable level.
<img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/grinandwink.gif" alt=";-D" title="Grin and
Wink" />

~~=oP
PV: ya know, I was going to ask a question like that.
Exactly what is exactly
higher than an ook?
