Basicly, the song mean stick to what you are and don’t branch off into something new.
that’s very unoptimistic.
Thats true. THat song however introduces the conflict of the entire HSM 1 story.
I left and retuned in bits all thw way thru the film, So i’m not clued up the story. and I don;t want to knwo really.
I like the story. Kinda of remeinds me of myself and my jourey through high school. I bet ever High-Schooler and even HS graduate can look back on their years and have some form of HSM on it.
I could be called a “toff” I go to an all boys paid school. I got a bursary there 'cos of my intelligence.
In a sense, i am reminded of Troy. I find something I was passionate about in HS, and I follow it. And of course, it deals with acceptance, cliques, rivalries, teamwork, and a whole lot of stuff.
but that’s not clichéd, whereas HSM is.
What do you mean by that?
Well tron is original, HSM had been done millions of times before.
I don’t get what you are saying. I am saying the character Troy in HSM sorta reminded me of myself durring my HS years.
Sorry. I’m half asleep. It’s 11pm and I thought you put tron instead of troy.
Oh, no worries dude.
Because you mentioned teamwork, which is part of tron.
I think the basic plot of HSM has been done before: someone is good at something, then wants to try something new that turns out to be enjoyable, which leads to conflict between peers and a hard choice. Somehow the person ends up finding a way to do both.
However, I guess what makes it different from the other movies with this kind of idea is that this takes place in high school…and it is a musical.
I think there should be more choices in the poll, instead of just “like” “hate” or “never seen”, if there such choice, I would’ve picked “liked the songs and choreography, but the movie and merchandise, not so much”
when i think of HSM i think of hairspray and that was bad…and we will leave it at that.
The smash hit critically acclaimed musical Hairspray is “bad” now? I’m not a HSM hater, I don’t really care one way or the other about it, but HSM and Hairspray are incomparable.
comparison
Teens-both
music-both
that is just about enough for me to handle in a movie…to put it more simply;
My idea of a good movie is a “little music and dance” and a “lot of action”
also no and i mean no teens getting “involved” with the storyline.
Wall`E was absolutley perfect mixing both of these types of problems together. The robots were cute and the romance was absolutley second handed. The music was from another musical but a “good musical” called “Hello Dolly” which my family owns.
Altogether both me and my family found Hairspray to be to “teen” and not enough action. It was basically a dozen or so teens trying to captiviate the “other” towards them. They did this using music and moves. That is in my opinion “fun” but not action.
Though i haven’t seen HSM (and i probably should give credit to HSM becuase i haven’t seen it) it gives me the same feeling as Hairspray.
phew
I’ve never seen it, probably wouldn’t like it though. From what I’ve heard the cast of characters would generally be people that grind my nerves
When HSM came out the first time, Disney channel legally killed it after playing the movie over and over and over, so i never got into the first movie, the second movie I seen parts of it but didn’t want to see it until the first one. And I really don’t know what to think about the upcoming third movie.
Is Disney really milking HSM to the last drop? I still think the third movie should have been on tv then in theaters.
