Home on the Range

Okay, so it wasn’t Disney’s best effort. But did anybody else find at least a little charm in this movie?

I have never seen it before, but I think I do remember one little trival fact about this movie. Wasn’t this the last ever 2D Animated Disney movie that was ever released in theatres?

It was going to be – a lot of fans were pretty outraged, too – but they’ve since decided to let their directors choose which medium would be best for the films.

ah man, poor Home on the Range… XD

It’s not bad, I guess. Some of the characters are pretty cool, but the story was a little…I dunno, it just didn’t feel complete. Steve Buscemi’s in it, so that’s always a bonus. But yeah, all in all, it’s not bad- 6 out of 10 in my book.

Truth be told, I probably liked this particular film more than some (or most) other people did. It did find it rather charming in its own way. The songs were pleasant, I must admit, and Grace’s little “singing problem” had me laughin’ quite a few times.
However, the thing became rather fast-paced near the end, and I never did find the whole “cows driving a train” concept believable. It was a near-worthy effort on Disney’s part, though. I enjoyed it…and still watch it from time to time…

Oh gosh, I just realized this: Grace was played by Jennifer Tilly, who also played Celia in Monsters Inc.. And, of course, Mr. Wesley was portrayed by Steve Buscemi…who also did the voice of Randall Boggs. So that means that two Monsters Inc. stars were in the same film together in Home on the Range. I can’t believe I never realized that until now… (snigger)

lizardgirl - And Steve has never played a scarier role than Mr. Wesley, in my opinion. The dude freaked me out more than Randall (no offense)! (laughs) :stuck_out_tongue:

OH my… don’t make me remember that guy, I still get nightmares O.O

Most of friends watched it and they thought it was kind of wierd. I don’t know why, but the idea of cows just isn’t their story type.

I didn’t like it, but I think it was more directed towards little kids. What they should’ve done is not pick cows. I think that was my only peeve. Horses maybe, lol! Steve Buscemi’s character was the only plus.

“I dropped out of clown college for this??”

I’m sure it’s enjoyable in it’s own way. I can’t really say I hate it or I love it- it’s been about a year since I’ve seen it and I forgot most of it. So … I’m sure it has it’s good points. I’m always one to love a film everyone hates.

Glad some of you agree!

My favorite line is this one: “Who would eat a chicken!?”

Buck: So long, sucker! He must be taking stupid lessons from that buffalo.
[Junior the buffalo snorts down Buck’s neck]
Buck: Uh-oh.

Oh, believe you me, Steve’s played some roles that make both Wesley and Randall look like great big softies.

But yeah, I guess there’s some charm in this film. I think it was also a little tainted by some other farmyard animals film coming out at a similar time- called Banyard - the Original Party Animals, or something on equally stupid lines. It probably would’ve done better without the competition.

I don’t wanna know about 'em then… (snigger)

And “Barnyard” was an absolute mess. I’d much rather watch Home on the Range, to tell you the truth. Heheh.

I knew Cuba Gooding Jr. was in this movie. I just forgot what part he played in it.

The Star Swordsman - He played Buck the horse.

Oh yeah! On one tv spot, I think he went like “(animal name) is so stupid. . . UH OH!”

I always liked the bit where Buck hits his head on a wooden pole and says “Who put this here?”

FONY - Haha! Yeah, that was pretty funny.

I also love the part where Buck tells Rico’s horse to flee for his life. I was laughing so hard… :stuck_out_tongue:

What do you all think the most suspenseful part of the movie?

The plot wasn’t that well put togethar to have any really tense moments, in my opinion. However, when they come face to face with the Yodeling Cow Rustler Slinks, that would probably be mine.
