If you want to write a letter to John, just write it directly to John. I addressed mine to John and wrote it as if I was talking to him, not talking to another person about him. There’d be a better chance for a response if you do that.
I’m still trying for Andrew Stanton’s. I’ve written to him twice so far. But you know, sometimes it takes multiple tries before you get anything.
lennonluvr9, andrew stanton is going all around the globe promoting wall-e and when i went it was in hollywood and barely anyone was there! it may be easy to just meet him if you want his autograph
i got my wall-e poster signed and he even drew a tiny wall-e on it. and this was just after a screening of wall-e and q&a thing a couple months ago.
My mom sent me letters from home today and I got a BIG surprise!! I got a response from both Brad Bird and Pete Docter!! Super exciting! Now I’m just waiting for Andrew Stanton.
Brad Bird sent me a nice signed Incredibles picture and a personalized letter.
Wow that’s great! Not only did you get autographs and neat letters from them, but you’ve also made Pixar aware of your presence. 'Course, the letter alone isn’t going to get you hired at your dream job, but you gotta start somewhere.
Could things get any more awesome?! You have yourself a treasure, Hannahmation – two personalized letters with autographs included? Sometimes it seems as if Pixarians are simply too kind for words…
That was very nice of Mr. Bird and Mr. Docter to wish you well in your career! Don’t lose those.
That’s so cool, Hannahmation, especially since they’re actually properly personalized! I love how Pete Docter drew a sketch of himself, heh. I’d frame those if I were you! Thanks for showing us.
Wow, Hannahmation. This would have to be the first time in this thread’s history where you’ve received back hand-written letters from the top Pixarians! Success!
Wow! That’s amazing, really! You are so lucky. I would love one from Brad Bird. The Incredibles was amazing, and Ratatouille as well. What do you think it will take for a guy from Sweden to get a signed autograph? Is it possible? How long do you guys think I will have to wait? And what did you do Hannahmation to get those from the top-pixarians? That is amazing. Wow I’m almost stunned. Haha
lizardgirl: Had to share my excitement with you guys! I too love how Pete Docter drew a sketch of himself. And I am looking into getting them framed.
rachel: Hopefully others will be as lucky as I was!
Simon-Simon: I think it would be possible for you to get an autograph. I just sent a letter telling them how much I enjoy their work and what a big inspiration they are to me. I also talked about my journey in learning animation (I’m going to school for animation). I did not expect to get such awesome replies from these guys, so it was an amazing surprise. I only had to wait a little over a month to get something back, but it really depends. Sometimes it can take quite a few months. Definitely worth a try to write to them.
Well, after more than a year I finally wrote a “thank you” note to Brad Bird, and I’m going to send it off tomorrow. Curse me for not doing this sooner…
Better late than never, Mitch! I plan on sending a thank you note to Brad Bird and Pete Docter when I am home for the summer in a few weeks. Their personal replies still blow my mind!
Some of you might remember… I sent a Letter off to both Dinsey’s Burbank and Pixar Studios in February… addressed to John Lasseter…
Exactly one week ago I recieved a reply…
Although looking at those Hannahmation received from Messers Doctor and Bird… The Personalization is greatly unique and Enviable!
Although a Signed Picture of Buzz and Woody does quell that envy…
I dare say a letter of thanks is in order… and I think at the same time letters could be going back out to other studios and personnel… But I’m not entirely sure yet…
Hannahmation - Thanks! Yeah, you should definitely send on a “thank you” letter, as well. I can’t believe that both of them sent you personal notes.
Captain Pan - How awesome!
Rachel - Yeah, I owe him this big time. I’ll certainly let you all know if I receive a response, although I probably won’t post up his reply or anything. I’d like to keep that personal.
Hannahmation- Wow! Personalized responses! I’ve got a few of those so I know how thrilling those can be! That’s really awesome! (plus that’s going to be quite valuable. Not that you wanna sell them! But down the line you could get them insured and stuff)
