That’s awesome! I got a different Ratatouille print from them - I used to think they only had one version of each print, but I guess they have more… That shot of Linguini is adorable.
Oh my goodness that is just so incredibly awesome! Holy cow, that looks really, really cool! You got a flippin’ autograph! You make me jealous! I wish I was you!
Sheila here. I’d like to point out that the real picture is SO much better quality than you can tell in this scan. It’s glossy and crisp and beautiful! I want Ashley to frame it and put it in her room.
Yeah, Pixar didn’t skimp out on the quality of their prints, did they? Especially when you can get them for free - you don’t even have to pay for postage or anything. It’s really nice of them.
Shows the company’s quality and dedication to fans.
I will have to try this to get a Wall-E signed glossy
lotus im trying to do that now can anyone make a fill in the blank sending letter to get a glossy picture with? and what size envelopes did you peoples use?
Netbug - Dude, that’s awesome! I love the post card, and the note from WALL-E is just too darn adorable. Congratulations!
I’m really hankering to send a letter to Pixar now, but I don’t want to bug them…
You should, man. (snigger)
– Mitch
Mitch: I don’t think you’d be bugging them. I think they have a whole department that takes care of fanmail and such. It’s highly doubtful that Lasseter or Stanton or Bird etc. ever really see those…
I say go for it!
Sheila
Colette LInguini - Ahh. I see. Heheh. Well, maybe I will ask for an autograph. We’ll see…
– Mitch
Mitch - Don’t worry about bugging them! They get requests for autographs every single day. As I’ve said before, if they didn’t get so many autograph requests, they wouldn’t have a system in place to give them out for free. Actually, I think they must get a kick out of giving away such high quality prints for free… Heh.
Colette Linguini - I forgot to ask this, but do you think the autographs on your glossy print are actual autographs (made with a Sharpie), or just a pre-print. I’ve already come to my own conclusion, but wanted to get others’ opinions on the genuine-ness of the autographs the receive.
Not sure what you are asking with the first question, but if you follow the instructions on the very first post of this thread, you should receive a glossy print from Pixar. Let us know how it goes. As for what envelope to use, if you are sending a letter to simply request an autograph, any standard size envelope will do as long as it is big enough for the letter you are sending.
i want to get a nice glossy picture i need to know 2 things:
A. What size envelope should i use? id i end up getting a signed picture do they have envelopes there that will fit
and B. what i meant by the first question was can someone make me a fill in the blank like the one on the first post only for trying to get a glossy picture
rachel - Ha-ha. Yeah, that’s true. Well, like I said, we’ll see what happens. (snigger)
Well, I wasn’t going to post this up, since it’s kind of personal, but I figured, “What the heck?”…
Edit. Blah. I took it off. It’s just that personal. Heh. Sorry about that, guys!
The guy was too freakin’ nice, I swear. That drawing right there is probably one of the only good sketches of mine in that particular sketchbook; all the rest of the drawings in there are just plain garbage, man. You should see the sketch on the opposite page of the one that Brad Bird signed his name on…
By the way, I had this weird feeling while Mr. Bird was signing my sketchbook, and I was wondering if anyone else has felt the same way or if I’m just plain crazy.
While he was autographing my hideous book, this insane thought popped up in my head, one that said, “Don’t touch my sketchbook, man…”. I don’t know what that was! It only lasted for about two seconds, but I could kick myself now for thinking that thought. I suppose it’s just a matter of personal possession: I didn’t want anyone to run off with my stuff. Not that he would, of course. Me and my crazy thoughts… (snigger)
– Mitch
Wow! Thanks for showing us that autograph, Mitch. I like that picture of Remy and it is indeed a “cool drawing.” Well, maybe the reason you freaked out a bit is because your sketchbook is so personal that you don’t like anyone touching it, even if it is Brad Bird. Heh.
RachelCakes: We’re pretty sure it’s a reprint of the signature, but still. It’s something!
Ha-ha. No problem, and thanks!
Wow. I really need to practice making my original characters more… original. Everyone thinks that that rat is Remy. (snigger)
Yeah, that must be what it is. It’s that inward voice saying something seemingly ludicrous… Don’t touch my stuff, man. Here I am, having my worthless book with worthless trash being signed by one of the greatest directors out there, and I’m thinking that he better be careful with those pages… (chuckle)
Ahhh, but I’m rambling. Back on-topic…
– Mitch
Sorry, I’m still a bit confused about what exactly you’re trying to ask… but I’ll try to answer.
If you follow the instructions on the first page you will receive an autograph (a preprinted autograph, though) on a glossy, colour A4 sheet of paper, like the one posted on the previous page by Colette Linguini. Even if you just ask for an autograph, they will send you a glossy photo with an autograph on the bottom. If you want a specific glossy with a screenshot from a certain movie, say, Finding Nemo, you just write in your letter to them that your favourite movie is Finding Nemo and that you would like a Finding Nemo autograph.
As for what envelope to use, if you are wanting to know what envelope to use in order to send your letter requesting an autograph, any size will do as long as it properly fits your pages - sometimes the postal service can return a letter to you if it’s too thick. If you want to know what envelope Pixar are going to use to send you the autograph, don’t worry - they provide their own as you will see in the pictures posted in previous pages (the thicker, brown envelope.) They do this all for free, no need to send stamps or money or provide an envelope for them to use.
Hope this helps.
Yeah, that’s what I thought, too. I really should keep a tally of our opinions on the legitimacy of the autographs, heh. Yeah, you’re right, I’m just glad to have gotten a letterhead from Pixar.
You mean it wasn’t Remy? My bad… Heh.
That is seriously awesome, Mitch.
I would love to send in for an autograph, but knowing it would probably be a reprint kind of discourages me. It kind of loses the point, doesn’t it? Best I can hope for is to somehow come across someone at Pixar out in the real world, premiere or whatnot. Really don’t think that’s ever going to happen, though. Especially since I live in Illinois. I guess my only hope is to send in for someone they wouldn’t have an autograph on file for. But come on, it’s so much cooler if it’s a director’s autograph! Oh well … autographs aren’t essential. Point is to appreciate the films, right? Man an autograph would be neat …
TYTYTTYTYTY that helped alot lol
rachel - Believe it or not, it’s just a random rat character that I created one day. My sister named him Gabor, although there’s definitely a resemblance between my cartoon and Remy.
No sweat. I bet that Brad Bird thought that it was Remy, too.
ominousorb - Thanks!
– Mitch
lol thats cool how you randomly drew a rat lol
