I met Lasseter once at Pixar Studios just before Ratatouille came out. He gave me The Art of Cars book and I always regretted not asking him to sign it. A couple of months ago I met him again. To my suprise, the day after meeting him and getting my photo with him, I was given a print of that photo, signed by Lasseter. AAAAAAAAAND, in addition to his signature, he drew Buzz and Woody on the photo! What a nice guy. The combined 30 or 35minutes I have spent with him were inspiring. He had great things to say.
I have seen very few drawings from Lasseter, and believe me, I’ve looked. I remember asking some of the Pixarians if Lasster does much drawing anymore, or even doodling, and they seamed to think he does not. This makes my little sketches from him all the more amazing. Great topic!
Sticker and a Punch out, WALL-E Dude? Dang, all I got is my postcard. Not that I’m ungrateful. I mean, WALL-E signed it. That is so cool. XD I luv stickers though. :3 Maybe I should write to EVE’s VA. I loved that character.
Hey netbug009, I saw your M-O postcard, and that was really awesome that WALL•E sent a letter, and that’s what is so cool about Pixar, it’s like you will never really know what you will get! and there’s never two alike. Also excuse me for asking, but what does VA stand for?
Aw I didn’t see anything about return postage when I glanced the first time. Ah well it doesn’t hurt to see what happens since I already mailed it anyway.
Not sure if I stressed this enough in the first post but yes, Pixar pays for the photo and sending the photo. You do not need to pay money to them for the autograph, or for them to send the autograph. It’s all free. All you need to do is make sure your letter has enough stamps on it to reach Pixar. Good luck.
Sorry for the confusion. I’ll update the original post soon with clearer instructions. Basically what I meant by that sentence is that if you live inside the US you pay cheaper postage than if you were to post the letter from somewhere overseas.
I woke up this morning and found a Pixar letter through my door haha. I sent mine on July 23rd so that’s like two weeks roughly and considering I’m from England, pretty quick…
In my letter to them I wasn’t sure what to write so I just said I liked Cars and I just got sent back this -
the tape is covering up my address as I’m tooooo lazy to black it out haha
Oh I also got their pre-printed letter about being busy with Wall-E.
It’s nothing major but it’s a cool feeling to receive it!!
My actual ultimate favourite Pixar film is Bug’s Life though so maybe in a few weeks I’ll send one last letter asking for something ‘buggy’. [/img]
Woah! That’s around the same time I sent mine! I’m gonna go check right now!
ETA:
They sent me Finding Nemo and Cars, rather than WALL-E and Cars. I’m so sad. I sent them a very pleasant email request this time, telling them I was happy with what they sent me, but that WALL-E was the film I was most interested in. Maybe they’ll take pity on me and send me a WALL-E one this time.
zada - Yeah, the autographs I got were sent exactly two weeks after I sent my request to them. They send their autographs out on the same day as they recieve the request - cool, huh? I don’t think I’ve seen a A Bug’s Life glossy print, yet so I look forward to seeing what you get back.
MidgardDragon - The reason you may not have received a WALL•E autograph, is because they might not have the glossy prints reading to hand out, yet. I haven’t seen any WALL•E glossy prints either. If you really want one, I suggest you write a very creative letter (instead of just an email) and maybe draw some pictures as well, and they may send you a postcard, or stickers or something. The more effort you go to, the more they will want to please you. And it’s only polite to send a nice letter rather than an email, they are doing this for free, you know.
Well, I sent a really nice letter (not an email) the first time, going on for several paragraphs. They may’ve had a problem with it being typed, but while it’s great that they’re so nice, I feel if they’re only gonna except hand-written, then it’s a bit hypocritical, since the letter they sent was just a form letter too. I will have to get more stamps before I try again, but I’ve already sent an email (again, I didn’t send an email the first time, but rather a letter) telling them how grateful I was but that I was really looking forward to something WALL-E related too.
