How to get Pixarian autographs

MigardDragon - Oh, right. I assumed you sent an email the first time, sorry…

Your best bet, if you wanted something WALL•E-related, would be to pull out all the stops, make them a colourful card thanking them for making the movie, or write a letter to WALL•E himself, that’s what someone else did, and they got a postcard back “written” by him. I think the problem might be that they don’t have a glossy print, well, printed out yet so they don’t have a specific WALL•E present to send back when people request a WALL•E autograph… You would think they would, by now, but I haven’t seen one.

I wouldn’t be discouraged if I were you, whether you get what you request seems to depend on which autograph-handler you get, how busy Pixar is that day, what you write to them and what your letter looks like, whose autograph you are requesting etc Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t… Maybe you could specifically request a postcard and some stickers? Good luck, and I hope this helps. =)

cool that u got one! I just wanted to tell you all that i FINALLY got arround to sending mine on july 6th 2008 i will tell you all when i get it back, it will be a long time i think because its going from one side of the country to the other . :stuck_out_tongue:

I was wondering, if I sent a letter and possibly a drawing, is there any chance of me getting anything back Randall-related? I just can’t decide whether to send off for something to do with Monsters, Inc. or something to do with WALL-E, because with WALL-E, I’d be happy with absolutely anything, but I’d be gutted if they sent back something to do with Mike or Sulley. Any advice?

Ooh…this all sounds cool…I’d love to get an autograph from Lou Romano or Mr. Bird…I’m going to try this out…

lizardgirl - The only Monsters, Inc. glossy print that I know of is this one here. You could always ask for something with Randall on it, though. No harm in trying…

Rachel- Yeah, I might give it a go anyway. If I don’t get a reply, then that’s fair enough as I’m sure they don’t exactly have stacks of letters asking for Randall-related stuff. And if I do get something, I might die of happiness, so it’s worth it either way.

I think I will try it with an email but I don;t know what to put?
Here is an example and tell me if it is good or bad as I do want an honest opinon.

Hello,
I am a massive Pixar fan and watch your films all the time, I think that these films and the animation in them are shear genius, I also think it is brilliant how you send a message out to people in the film aswell. My favourite film would have to be Ratatouille, I think all of the work done on the film is amazing and congratulations to the director for an amazing fim. I know I am only 14 years of age but I am in the middle of starting my options and are doing design I.T courses and are aiming at doing animation and one day working at The Pixar Studios in California when I am older.

Please, please, please someone reply saying what could i put to basically ask for a picture of the film ratatouille signed by the director?

i think your note is very good, david
i would say if i wanted a picture:
It would really mean a lot to me if i could get a picture of the film ratatouille
hope that helped

It sounds good so far, David. However, I would strongly recommend that you write a letter to them - a creative letter seems to get a better response than an email. Just tell them that you loved the movie, Ratatouille, and you would appreciate an autographed print.

Wow!
You do not know how jealous I am, how much would it be for me though to post to the US? Plus what else could I put in it as I don’t think I will get anything in the post like Zada. :frowning: Fingers crossed though.

David - There is no need to quote someone’s whole post like that.

You can post your letter in this thread (but leave out personal information such as your name and address, of course) and I can have a look at it and make some suggestions. From what you have told me you have written so far, I’m pretty confident you will get a Ratatouille autograph. When I wrote to request autographs, my letter was very plain, and only a paragraph long, and I still got two autographs (because I requested two different ones) and a letter, as well. If you go to a lot of effort, like, draw pictures and write a very detailed letter, they will sometimes give you WALL•E stickers and go to more effort to please you back.

If you are only posting an international letter that is a page or two of paper, you can get pre-paid enveloped from the Post Office (at least here in Australia, anyway.) These are business-size envelopes (which are slightly longer and taller than normal size envelopes) but you don’t have to buy seperate stamps because it’s already included in the cost of the envelope. If you don’t have this option, simply put your letter in an envelope (and write the Pixar address on the front) and take it to the counter at the post office and tell them that you would like to send an international letter. I assume that it will cost the same to send an international letter to anywhere in the world, no matter where the country is, but I’m not sure about your system. Irregardless, the postal worker will charge you the correct amount, and send the letter on its way for you, so you will definately know you paid the correct amount. Judging from experience with international requests, you should get your autographs in around 2 weeks from the date you sent the letter. I hope this clears up your confusion.

Thanks for you help.

Sorry to quote the whole post by the way.

You’re welcome, David. Let me know how it goes, and if you have any more questions just post here.

That’s ok - the general rule is to just put the person’s name in bold (like I did above), and then type your message after it. If you want to respond to something very specific in someone’s post, you can still ‘quote’ their message but delete parts of the quoted section so that only the sentence or two that you are responding to remains. Seems hard figuring out the bbcode, but you’ll get the hang of it.

Hey guys, I just thought I’d post my own experience with this.

I sent a letter to Pixar for Andrew Stanton that was about a page and a half long, and with it I sent a photo from the WALL-E premiere and a note that told any secretary that I was not seeking an autograph, but simply wanted my letter given to Andrew if possible.

I sent the letter over a month ago and no reply yet, so I’m unsure of it’s fate. My advice to anyone sending a letter to Pixar is to be very specific about what you want. If you want autographs, be clear about this and you will probably get them. If like me that isn’t what you want, I think it’s also good to state that so a secretary knows exactly what your letter’s purpose is and what to do with it.

I’m not expecting a reply from Andrew but I hope someday I’ll get a letter back from Pixar stating what happened to my letter. O: Anyway, good luck to everyone trying to get autographs!

I pretty much stated in the letter that I loved the movie Ratatouille and would like an autograph. Hope that works. And I doodle a little drawing of Linguini and Remy on the bottom under my signature…you think that’s okay or should I remove it?

Plus, I’m going to give them my dorm room address, since in two weeks, that’s where I’ll be living.

-Kim

Ragdollcorpse - I think they would love a Pixar drawing on the letter. =)

I will get started on this this week and have it sent off by Friday hopefully.

I just sent my letter out to Pixar. I made it very clear that Wall•E was my favorite movie and that I wanted Wall•E related prints and such with an autograph by Andrew Stanton and/or Elissa Knight. Also, I made it clear that I was hoping the letter could come back in time for my birthday, September 6th, so I hope they give me something special for me to celebrate over :stuck_out_tongue:

but even if they don’t, an autograph on anything would be nice…

I think i’ll get started on this next week when i’m at home.
Thanks for the help.

You’re welcome, David. Let us know what you receive in the mail. =)
