That is true. No matter what people say, there will always be a debate. But my friend always telle me, “there will always be one winner.”
Good observation!
I’ve lost all respect for the Oscars after the Best Score debacle. Both for this year and 2008.
But everyone’s a winner!
“Which is another way of saying no one is.”
Quick, guess the quote, people! Free grape soda to the winner!
Megamind is better than both.
TDIT: Dash says that to Helen.
And I despise the Oscars, and don’t care what they say at this point.
Hmmm, I actually enjoyed megamind. But not more than TS3 or httyd.
Same here. I liked Megamind, but I didn’t find it as great as TS3 or HTTYD. To each their own though.
^ Thirded. I love Megamind, but I’d like to hear an extended elaboration for that statement, please.
IV, you’ve won a year’s supply of Grape Soda! Now just send your home address to Paradise Falls, South America and our colourful-feathered representative will get back to you on it.
Megamind was a good try at pure comedy. I like it less than KFP, but way more than Shrek or Madagascar. (I realize that Shrek is a better film than MM, but I like MM, and hate Shrek). However, I wouldn’t call it "better"than TS3 or HtTYD. If you personally enjoyed it more than those, though, good! I’m glad for you. I personally liked them better than Megamind, but that’s all personal taste.
Grape soda? Paradise Falls? How many Pixar references can you fit into one sentence, TDIT? And thanks for the grape soda.
There was some emotional/dramatic stuff in Megamind. It just wasn’t extremely obvious.
I agree, there was a lot of stuff about relationships and stuff like that, But I doubt it’s “better” than TS3 or HtTYD.
I agree with IV. Megamind was a good film by Dreamworks, but there is no way that it can match up to both of the movies she mentioned.
Megamind ??? better than HTTYD or TS3, this should be a joke, but if someone thinks like that, I respect that opinion despite of not sharing it,
last year Megamind was only superior to Alpha & Omega and the dreadful Shrek Forever After
I never saw Alpha & Omega. But I saw Shrek Forver After. That was a waste of my time.
Aw… I thought Shrek Forever After was a pretty good-hearted conclusion to the series. The only thing I didn’t like was the muted colour palette and a few slapstick elements, but otherwise I thought it had a touching ending. I was close to tears, although I’ll admit Your Mileage May Vary.
Well, I liked that Dreamworks tried to close the door on the series. And it was satisfying. but I thought the movie did not exceed or meet my expectations.
I had no expectations for it. Literally. It was a lot like “It’s A Wonderful Life”, but it’s not the worst movie of last year, and it’s definitely not the worst Shrek movie(granted I don’t like any of them.) But MM was definitely better than it. And I liked MegaMind more.
definitely: Megamind was superior to Shrek 4
But going back to the subject of httyd v. ts3, I will admit that I love the characters in both movies, but the one character that really had my heart in both movies was Jessie in TS3, and toothless in httyd. If I were to choose between the two, I would pick toothless.
I had no empathy for any character in Toy Story 3, except for maybe Chuckles, Chatter and Mr Pricklepants. And Peas in a Pod for sheer cuteness.
The characters in HTTYD besides Toothless, Hiccup, Stoick and Gobber were mildly annoying as squabbling teens. I preferred the dragons, who surprisingly had more personality than their human counterparts (with the exception of Hiccup, Stoick, and Gobber).
I agree entirely. I sort of rooted for Woody, but I thought Jessie, Andy, Molly, and even Buzz really annoyed me. I couldn’t sympathize with them at all. I mean, you can ask my mom. I was extremely angered by most of the gang’s actions and treatment of Woody the entire time. I understand this was necessary for plot development, but I was still very irritated.
