Meh, not too stoked about the cover (why would they have such spoilers on the cover of the DVD?), but the short definitely has me intrigued. Boneknapper was one design that I really wanted to see in action, so hopefully this will do it justice. But hey, even if it doesn’t, it’s HTTYD on DVD, so we all know it’s awesome.
Here’s the Bonus features for HTTYD on Blu-Ray:
Legend of the Boneknapper Dragon
BD Exclusive: Animators’ Corner
BD Exclusive: Trivia Track
Tech of Dragon
Viking - Sized Cast
The Way We See it
Meet Cressida Cowell
Going for the Gold
How to Draw a Dragon
Dragon Training Final Exam
Filmmakers’ Commentary
Viking - Sized Cast
Sneek Peek Trailers
DWA Sneak Peek (trailers)
Deleted Scenes
DWA Jukebox
Personally, I am wayy excited to see the delete scenes. Now I can spend more time in Berk
Bwaah that’s awesome
any confirmation that all that cool stuff is on the DVD too? I don’t have a Blu-Ray. D:
Badger - anything that says BD Exclusive would not be. BD is a short form for Blu-Disc. I’m presuming the rest should probably be there? This is just speculation right now though…
23 days left for the US folks.
I am UBER excited. Ahhh I could just die.
I still don’t see a pre-order on iTunes for it, so I’m really considering writing up some kind of complaint to Apple. The DVD/Blu-ray will probably come with a digital copy anyway, but I want an HD version to watch on my Mac! D:

I’d like to get my sister Amanda this for Christmas. She loved it, and honestly I’d like to see it again. I might buy it for her just so I can watch it again, without admitting.
I think I’ve said this in this thread before. But their are no Dreamworks films avaliable on iTunes. I wonder if the reason why is because Jeff is the head of Dreamworks.
And because Steve Jobs wants to sell Pixar stuff, not DW. He doesn’t own DW, so it makes sense. Can’t you hook your device up to your computer, put the DVD in(when you get it, obviously), and upload it onto your device? That’s what I did when I had a crap, knockoff iPod(Now I have nothing).
No, you need to DOWNLOAD an IPOD VERSION of the movie. A DVD is like 5gb, and it’s not 1 file but dozens of files that make a dvd movie, you need special software to convert it into 1 movie file and upload it to your iPod through iTunes. The only files your iPod can play are .mp4 and .mov, if I remember right.
If it was that easy, there would be no market for DVD’s anymore.
So unless the DVD you used contains a homemade or pirated movie, there is no way it would just load to your iPod.
Yeah, most movies come with a “digital copy” these days that allows you to load it onto a device like an iPod. Only thing with those is, they’re not high quality because they’re made for iPod.
I’m just saying, I’d really rather have an HQ, digital version available in case I can’t get the DVD right off. I have a sad feeling I’m going to have to wait a while before I can get my hands on it, because I’m broke and my parents are broke and I don’t know how I’m going to get a copy. However, I have over $30 in my iTunes account, and CAN pay for an HQ Movie download from the iTunes store.
But Steve Jobs has to be a butt face and won’t allow any DW movies to be sold in the iTunes store. Just my luck.

My mum asked me what I wanted for my birthday and I said the DVD of this movie.
Of course my birthday was on the 17th of September, but I said I was willing to wait.
It’s worth it in my book.
I don’t have an ipod at all and have only tried to use it once or twice just a few months ago with limited success until someone with more experience took it from me (oh geez I’m a dinosaur already… at 23!)
I’m personally fine with having DVDs on my laptop really. I’m not all that concerned with getting an Ipod. I probably will get one one day… eventually. But it’s not on the list of things I really desperately want or care for. I can do without it. Of course my old clunky thing of a portable CD player (it… just plays a CD disk, can’t stick in my pocket but I can lose it in my black hole of a bag) is completely dead now and it was annoying but still.
Not feeling the need for it right now.
I can wait.
-Taps foot impatiently-
Yeaaah.
I got the Bluray yesterday… The graphics are MIND BLOWING.
Here are some screenshots:

You don’t want to miss this in your collection!
I can also attest to this… I too have a copy of the Blu-Ray, and not only are the visuals incredible, even the sound is gorgeous. I had forgotten how beautiful this film was since seeing it in theaters back in April, and watching it in such amazing quality again was just like seeing it for the first time. <3

Wowowowowowo… how did you two get Blu-Rays? Ahead of the release?
Anyway, here’s some moar trailers to whet your appetite:
Legend of the Boneknapper Dragon trailer
“An adventure so epic, you’ll feel it in your bones!”
The jokes really fell flat for me. But, omg, the thought of being in Berk, even for 12 minutes is gasp for air and spazzes until October 15. And is it me or is Hiccup totally hot here? (Maybe it’s because I’ve been HTTYD deprived for 6 months now [thanks you Dreamworks >_>])
On the side note: Omg! They totally gave away the spoiler [spoil](Hiccup’s leg)[/spoil]. Even though, i have to admit, I didn’t realise that until a few viewings later.
Edit: Wait, you guys got the Blu-Ray Disc already? How’s the short?
Meh, that trailer doesn’t exactly wow me. And why they heck did they leave Toothless in Berk (by the looks of it)? Please tell me Dreamworks at least realises who the main draw of the original movie was.
Of course, I’ll still get it, which is rather sad, really. Good to see that they didn’t retcon out Hiccup’s prosphetic leg.
Lol, it’s just a short, not a whole new epic adventure on itself. Shorts will be shorts.
@About the bluray: Can’t share you who what when where why and how, but what I can assure you is that the picture/sound quality is ‘unlike anything you’ve ever seen’.
I agree with both sentences.
It does look that way. Hopefully he’ll have something to do in the short.
Daw… Fine Mr Secret Pants…
At least you enjoyed it! I can’t wait, Czarine!
Did you get the Blu-Ray the same, uh… clandestine way, little_chef?
Let’s just say she appreciates Dutch people a lot more now.
Lol, yay for Dutch people!!1
And I’d love to get my hands on the DVD. And I just want to watch it again and again and again and
AGAIN
