How to Train Your Dragon

First part: www.youtube.com/watch?v=3A7b57WCwd8

I still wouldn’t recommend it though… (they used John Powell’s score awkwardly, apparently)

Don’t flame me but I’m one of the many who are madly in love with HTTYD and I watched Boneknapper today… I thought it was hysterical. I didn’t laugh at everything but there was a lot of really really good bits. And what I loved most was the original cast. Even though America only has like, three lines. Still, it wasn’t as terrible as I thought it would be. They pulled the whole Furious Five bit with choppy 2D flashback scenes but I actually didn’t mind them. And it’s still mostly CGI, it didn’t take away from anything, just some mild interruptions. Seriously though, I liked it. It was short, shorter than a 30 minutes episode on television I would think. Anyway it was no where as bad as I would have sworn it to be and I’ve been so curious about the plans for the TV show since it was announced back in March. If this is what we have to look forward to then I will definitely tune in for more than just curiosity. My faith has been restored a bit.

…and, it’s gone :frowning:

This is the one I viewed youtube.com/watch?v=kOaTHejh9CQ

Please support the film and consider purchasing the double feature ( has to say this for the sake of her guilt and morals :stuck_out_tongue: )

Hurray! I got my DVD today. I can’t believe it’s been over 6 months! Let’s see if it still holds up just as good a second time. :3

As for the Bluray, I’ll probably ask for it for Christmas, along with a couple of others I’ve been waiting to get (Secret of Kells, Mary & Max, Back to the Future trilogy to name a few). What is the animator’s corner thing like? Is it similar to Cine-Explore?

^ I am jealous. :open_mouth:

Whooooooooaaa Congrats Bryan, I just saw your tweet! You lucky dragon, you!

Wow, worth $99? Congrats!

I just bought Dragons at my local store. I gave DW my DVD money directly…yay.

17th of November.

You must have the luck of Thor, Bryko. You keep gettin’ the good stuff!

If anyone is wondering why my countdown is stuck at ‘1 Day’, it’s because I checked JB Hi-Fi Australia (an electronics store) online and I found out the release is next Thursday! So I’m holding out till then.

Odin Almighty! That’s a pretty long wait to watch HTTYD TDIT. :open_mouth:

Not really. I’ve waited for six months, I can wait for six days more.

He’s lucky he’s only getting it 6 days later. <_<

Laugh out loud, don’t hold that against him, the real enemy here is the DVD distributors.

I logged on to iTunes today and I saw that the movie is being sold through iTunes. I totally wasn’t expecting that, seeing how there are no other Dreamworks movies on iTunes. I wonder if it will on be sold for a limited time. I remember Monsters vs Aliens being on their, and then disappearing last year. I didn’t want to spend the money right now (I already own the Blu-ray/DVD combo), but I couldn’t pass up owning a digital copy.

So those who have seen Legend of the BoneKnapper Dragon… Anyone else actually like it?

gazelle: My sibs were watching it a few minutes ago, and I happened to catch about a half of it, so I’ll have to watch the whole thing over to get a better feel for it. But from what I did see, I thought it was hilarious. A bit cliche or predictable in quite a few places, but it wasn’t meant to be serious anyway so it didn’t totally bother me. Personally I loved the 2D, Kung Fu Panda-style sequences.

For some reason, a while back I kinda figured that Gobber would be the storytelling-type… inserting lots of hyperbole and make-believe into his stories to make them sound more interesting and perilous, and that’s exactly what happened here. XD
