These movies are so painful, because I adored the first Ice Age.
I’m not looking forward to this film. This feels like this was built around the pop-stars in the movie, much like Oliver and Company.
Well, Blue Sky/Fox has already started the marketing drive in earnest here in Singapore. This picture was taken at the MRT (the public train system here) station nearest to my workplace. The poster looks very similar to Rio’s one done last year, and I must say, it’s an interesting juxtaposition to another upcoming flick about a vampire-hunting U.S. president.
There’s also two posters at the station that I take nearest to my home, which I might see if I can get pictures of.
Personally, I’m looking forward to this film. Blue Sky has impressed me before with Horton Hears A Who and Rio, and I did enjoy the last installment (Dawn of the Dinosaurs) despite the atrocious ending to Scrat and Scratte’s romantic relationship.
Seriously, guys. Let the squirrel have his day and get that darn acorn already.
But yeah, sequels are sort of like meeting old friends after many years. In this case, said friends would be fictional characters rendered in a computer farm across the world, but you get that point.
And of course, every sequel brings new characters. I’m particularly interested in the rabbit pirate (voiced by the hilarious Aziz Ansari) and Diego’s love interest.
I saw this a few days ago, and it is great!
Wait it already came out in your country?
My dad’s a big fan and we got free cinema tickets, so I’ll be seeing this today, I’m not really particularly excited for it.
I think I might see it too. I’ve always had a soft spot forthis franchise and if this is the last Ice Age then I’d love to see the characters get a proper send off. But all my friends are seeing it just because Drake’s in it
Johhny boy, yeah it did, it was released 30th of june here… but it’s opposite with BRAVE because that’s not released till 25th of july
I saw this yesterday and to sum it up in 8 words: Do yourself a favor, don’t see this movie.
It really was that bad, the only other animated film that I can remember being worse is The Reef.
I thought the third was pretty bad, but compared to this, it was a masterpiece. I’d give it 0.1/10 and that’s being kind.
Really? What was it that you enjoyed to make it .01/10 opposed to a 0/10?
I was trying to be kind, but 0/10 is more accurate^^.
Oh ok. I still don’t have any intention on seeing this since this series is getting kind of stale.
I definitely wouldn’t recommend it, I think it’s a waste of time and money^.
Yeah, it just didn’t look appealing for the trailers and such.
It’s getting pretty mixed reviews. It currently has a 57% on rotten tomatoes.
Make that a 54%.
I’m extremely extremely excited!! I love the Ice Age films and I think they just keep getting better. And the trailers were hysterical! I can’t imagine this movie not being awesome… Blue Sky Studios has so much integrity and creativity; they’re one of my favorite animation studios! I also love that the Ice Age films never “number” the sequels; each one is as unique and original as the predecessor. And I like to say that a good sequel isn’t really a sequel, but another great story in a great series.
My family’s an Ice Age fan since the first movie, so we were excited when we heard a fourth movie’s coming out. My father and I are going to see it tomorrow, although I’m pretty bummed that Peaches already a teen in this one. She was adorable as a baby, so yeah… I wanted to see her as a baby.
While this does look to be an entertaining romp for family audiences, it’s just that this series isn’t cutting it for me anymore.
I’ve seen it today. It was very funny and I had a great time. Sid’s grandma is weird and the new characters were nice but could be better. I liked it but I think the other three were better. Oh, and great performance by Otto Waalkes as the German voice of Sid =)
