Yeah. I still remember reading a tweet from Lee Unkrich about a slew of original projects after MU.
Yeah, I think you’re right. I don’t ever remember hearing about this many projects from Pixar. So by around 2015-16 they’ll have at least 17 films. At this rate of a film a year, assuming they don’t fall into a dark age like Disney did, they’ll have 50 movies around 2050.
Actually, around the time of WALL-E’s release, we had 5 projects announced.
That’s the same quantity we have now.
Keep in mind that the Latin themed film is 3 years away. That’s a long time. Monsters Inc and this Mind movie both were given a year and then pushed back. I wouldn’t be suprised if the Latin one is pushed to 2016. We don’t really know for sure, that’s all far off. So I wouldn’t get to attached to dates this far away.
I don’t get attached to dates, even when the projects intrigue me, because I could either be let down when the date gets pushed back or just feel like it’s far away. I’m just happy with a Pixar movie every summer. It’s become a ritual for me.
I was looking forward to this movie the most until Lee’s movie was announced. But I’m still anticipating this one a lot for a couple of reasons. Out of all of the Pixar directors there’s something about Pete’s films that makes me think he’s the most sensitive and childlike. So that and the fact that he has a daughter which he’s probably drawing a lot of inspiration from makes me anticipate this movie.
Since I was talking about scores in the Good Dinosaur thread, let’s just put this one out there as well: to me, it’s a no-brainer that Michael Giacchino will take this one on, and hit the ball well out of the park. For some reason, the premise of the movie draws me back to the food-music sequences in Ratatouille where Remy tasted the cheese and the strawberry, while there’s all sort of colorful twirls going on in the background. Yeah, music for Pete’s upcoming movie will need something totally awesome like that.
I wouldn’t say it’s a no brainer! We have no idea, it’s so far away. Just because he scored Pete’s last two movies isn’t any guarantee.
He didn’t score his last two, just Up. Monsters, Inc. was by Randy Newman.
You are correct. I don’t know why I said that, I dropped the ball there. Usually I know.
Don’t worry, we all slip
I was about to change the thread’s title, but I can’t find any other source than that article.
As soon as it’s made official, I’ll do it.
The source of this website is the Italian magazine Primissima. A digital copy of the edition can be found here : primissima.it/images/magazin … 012-12.pdf
The news come from an interview (visible on pages 15-16 of the pdf) with Stefano Bethlen, head of theatrical distribution of Disney in Italy. When listing the upcoming Pixar films, it is stated that in 2015 there will be… “the anticipated film, The Inside Out”.
Here’s a translation:
Considering this isn’t an official announcement, I agree this should be taken carefully.
It’s a shame though they mention in the same answer the name of Planes… Pixar isn’t doing that one, don’t you know ?!
Well, Guardians of the Galaxy is not a Pixar production either, but the guy still mentioned it.
Gotta feel for Disney/Pixar fans in Europe, who would have to wait another 2 months for all the future releases. Wonder why.
Oh, and the title of the movie (even tentative at best as we speak) is still so cool. “The Inside Out” is just as intriguing as “Up”. I’m excited!!
Yep, it seems like the title is now “The Inside Out”. I hope that’s the final name—it sounds perfect for both what we know of the movie’s premise and also very Pixar-ish!!
Have you guys seen this piece of concept art going around? Seems like it’s for this film!
I was just about to post that
Yes, the art is classic Docter. Look how alike that girl looks to Ellie.
That’s just what I was thinking!
Of all the upcoming Pixar films, I just gotta say, I am especially looking forward to this one. The premise, that art, a young female protagonist, and Pete Docter directing… sounds like my dream movie.
With Pete Doctor directing and an image that terrible released, this film is off my list of things to see. I’m sure that since it’s got two more years of work going into it before release, it COULD be imporied, but as of right now it looks to be awful. And since the man who helms it is one of the two Pixar employees I loathe, I probably wouldn’t like it no matter what.
The IDEA behind it is nice, but that doesn’t make the movie good.
Looks nice! Love it but the girl looks like Ellie!
