Jack Black in Cars 2?

I was just looking at Cars 2 on Wikipedia, and in the cast list it says that Jack Black will be playing Finn McMissile (who made a little Easter egg appearance in Toy Story 3). I doubt this is true, someone was probably just being stupid and they thought they might put it on there. But if it is true, then…well… I don’t know, it’s a bit weird for Pixar to cast someone like that!

That’s strange, especially as Jack Black does a lot of stuff for DreamWorks.
But if you got it from Wikipedia, don’t always believe it’s true.

But still, that doesn’t seem right.

Maybe it’s the idea of Jack Black in Cars 2 is from Disney, Jack Black has been in Shark Tail and Kung Fu Panda, and all of those fins made a killing at the box office, so maybe Disney might want someone more silly you know, but I think that might be a good idea!

But Jack Black… as a debonair secret agent car? Unlikely… though not impossible… :frowning:

Hmm… I still think it’s a weird idea. But if it IS true, I’m sure Pixar (or Disney) know what they’re doing.

I actually wouldn’t mind if this were true! I mean, look at the cast from the original Cars. Almost every character is portrayed by an A-list star. Jack Black is quite a talented actor, even if he is playing a role for Dreamworks next year for the third time!
Also, Reese Witherspoon, who was in Monsters vs. Aliens is the main protagonist (doubt I spelled that right) in Brave, who is also an A-list star.

Then again this information is from Wikipedia.

I won’t mind Jack Black in a Pixar movie, but certainly not as Finn McMissile, as I imagine him to be a proper, elegant, english guy (he’s a James Bond like car, remember?).

Besides, I haven’t read that in any other source thatn Wikipedia, which also lists Dustin Hoffman as Doc Hudson, Jeff Bridges as Fillmore, and David Cross as a tank called Diesel. I don’t think any of this is true.

What? Dustin Hoffman as Doc? Is Wikipedia crazy? :open_mouth: I wouldn’t really mind Jack Black being in a Pixar movie, but when Wikipedia says stuff like that, I sure don’t know what to think…

Yes, that’s what it says on the Pixar Wiki. It doesn’t have a citation of the sources, so I’m sure they’re a bunch of lies.

Haha, I kind of hope that Wikipedia is inaccurate on this, because Jack Black as Finn McMissile would be slightly… er, unfitting.

I don’t care. Black is very talented, and I honestly thin he could pull off any role except Finn McMissle. Maybe a different part?

Whoa, I never said Jack Black is bad or anything! He’s hilarious! It’s just that I don’t think that he would be fitting as the sophisticated, secret-agent type character. But as another new car, definitely!

Oh, I wasn’t arguing, I just think he should start doing Pixar work XD sorry if I came off as muffled.

Nah, that’s perfectly ok. We’re all friends here!

Of course, my Pixarteer brother!!

And remember Jack Black did that compliment to Pixar in the Oscar Ceremony:

“Each year I do one DreamWorks project, then I take all the money to the Oscars and bet it on Pixar”

Yeah, that’s so funny!! I hate DW so much that just iced my cake XD

Look what it says now:

“Doc Hudson’s voice actor, Paul Newman, died of lung cancer in 2008, and Academy Award winner Dustin Hoffman has taken Newman’s place as the old racecar.”

“This is the second film with Jack Black and Dustin Hoffman together, the first being DreamWorks’ Kung Fu Panda.”

Sorry, but I’m not buying this. There’s no source. I saw this more than a week ago, and I didn’t even bothered in creating a thread because it doesn’t ring true to me. We’ll see.

Nope, I’m not buying it either. I need proof.

But I’m not going to think much of the Dustin Hoffman/Jack Black being in this movie until there’s conformation or until someone says no this is just a rumor.

On another note, Dustin Hoffman is one of my favorite actors! What a champ!
