I just returned from the theater not 15 minutes ago and I must say that WALL-E is now one of my favorite movies.
First the bad news, NO UP TEASER! I mean come on what’s up with that? There’s always a Pixar teaser. Oh, but no, no we get BOLT this year. Frustrating, isn’t it?
Well, on to Presto, which wasn’t my personal favorite, but still enjoyable. The theater was filled with laughter, and might I add that it was packed. (lots of kids) I really liked the old Walt Disney cartoon-esque opening titles, funny.
I’ve been hearing a lot of people say that kids will start to tire of the first act due to no dialogue. (at least in human form) The kids LOVE WALL-E, I mean before the movie even started there was a picture of WALL-E during the ads and all the kids said “WALL-E, look it’s WALL-E!” (very excitedly I might add)
This movie exceeded my expectations, and I expected it to be incredible. It really lives up to all the hype it’s been getting along with the praise. One of Pixar’s best. It was just so great how much the kids loved WALL-E. When he first rolled onto the screen, practically every child in the theater yelled
out, “WALL-E, look Dad, Mom it’s WALL-E.” Fortunately the kids’ parents were considerate enough to tell them to remain quiet for the rest of the movie.
For the most part the kids did a good job, but when WALL-E started to dance along to “Put On Your Sunday Clothes” one little girl said, “WALL-E’s a silly boy”. And (don’t forget about the spoilers) when WALL-E was injured there were a lot of children asking their parents, “What happened to WALL-E? What’s wrong with WALL-E?” They just loved him!
And the parents were far from bored, you could hear the children and adults laughing simultaneously. The ending was like an episode of Full House, when WALL-E didn’t respond to EVE after she fixed him (I was very worried he wouldn’t be able to remember at all with all that new equipment) there was this huge ooooooohhhhhhhh, and “Poor EVE”. This movie had everyone just sucked in. And no, I didn’t see anyone walk out of the theater.
I was just as caught up in it as all the rest. I started to tear up (I’m a 16 year old guy) when EVE saw the video of how much WALL-E did for her back on Earth while she was containing the plant and the look on her face when she realized. This movie was jam-packed with emotion. Yet, it was all genuine and was in perfect balance to the rest of the movie.
And this is by far the most realistic and amazing animation there is. It’s astounding, I mean it is really incredible how much detail is in this film. Previous to watching it I was worried about the live-avtion segments, but upon seeing them my worries went away, they wove it in perfectly.
After the movie ended there was some applause, and for once my family wasn’t the only one that stayed through the credits.
All in all, this movie really is a masterpiece, just like all the other Pixar movies.
Sorry for going on so long but this movie was just too good. Pixar’s done it yet again!
