I totally hope you enjoy it TDIT. I can’t wait to read your review of it.
I’m so jealous TDIT, I know you’ll have a lot of fun!
As usual, I probably won’t get a chance to see this in theaters. But I’m interested enough that I will be sure to rent it when it’s out on DVD, though.
Same here. DVD rentals come on!! Oh well, if it’s amazingful, I’ll support it by buying the DVD.
GUYSSS I /FINALLY/ SAW THIS TODAY.
and it was pretty much spectacular. seriously, i was blown away. animation was absolutely GORGEOUS, voice-acting was great, [spoil]baby!po[/spoil] (do i have to spoil-tag that? xD) was so cute i just about died, the animation in the flashback bits & the opening was beautiful, the action scenes were thrilling, and the scene where [spoil]po is remembering his past & his mother leaves him in the crate and he’s just crying and crying[/spoil] had me sobbing like a child shgjkls; i can’t even.
i really, really like the first kung fu panda. but, honestly, i /loved/ this one. so, so well done. nice job, dreamworks.
oh, and [spoil]DAT ENDING[/spoil].
p.s. hope you had fun, tdit! sounds amazing.
I felt the same way! I’m so happy you loved this movie, it blew me away as well!
Has anybody else bought the soundtrack yet?
[spoil]“Po Finds the Truth”[/spoil] is an amazing track.
Yeah… I think I’m officially obsessing over this. Cars 2 is gonna have to be really good to beat this.
…I can’t believe I just said that. About a Dreamworks sequel. When did DW gets so good, anyway?
Thanks for the wishes, TSS, EJE and bits&pieces! I had a night filled with awesomeness. Oh, and I was within ‘striking distance’ of Lucy Liu!
You can read more about it in the comments for one of my pics in my brand-new Flickr account (cos’ you can never get enough of TDIT, muahahaha).
As mentioned in my sig, you can read my thoughts about the film in my super-long review. And you can see the pics I took from the Australia gala premiere HERE!
Look out for a review of the premiere event itself on Tumblr and video recordings of the red carpet walk and pre-screening presentation on Youtube later this week.
Oh god, that scene got me all misty-eyed. I’m seriously beginning to wonder if Pixar will achieve anything that profoundly moving this year.
That’s part of what I love about Po: He is such a great character. Everybody is a geek about something, and we all wish we were an ascended fanboy/girl. It’s so easy to relate to him and be inspired by him.
I think part of what makes the films so moving is that everybody sees a bit (or a lot, in my case. XD) of themselves in Po.
I’m not getting all worried on Pixar’s account quite yet, though. Every time I’ve done that, I’ve turned out wrong. Being wrong gets old. ._.
tdit- I’m SOOO jealous! I loved your photo album, I can’t believe you were that close to J Katz, Liu, and Black! I’m so happy you had a great time.
Thanks EJE!
That aspect made him endearing to me. Some people might find him annoying, but I think his boundless enthusiasm, and the way he approaches every obstacle as something to be overcome without fear or reservation, is what makes him such an inspiring character. And he’s not arrogant either, he reveres those who are better than him, and seeks to learn as much as possible from them. I believe his confidence and humility is something we artists and creators should all aspire to.
I’m looking forward to Pixar proving me wrong too! I’m a fan of the first movie, and I’ve always wanted Pixar to do a spy movie, so I will certainly be entering the theatre with a ‘blank slate’. To unquestionably love or hate a film before you’ve seen it is just silly, in my opinion.
Oh man TDIT! I am really jealous of ya! SO cool that you were able to get that close to them! I’m glad you enjoyed it and had a great time.
Hehe, funny story. Was at work the other day, and we have KFP2 Happy Meal’s at the minute. We got this big animation geek lady come in and ask if she could buy the Master Tigress toy . And I was like, oh, is the new one good? And she’s like, yes yes! There were no customers behind so we had this big discussion and I admitted that I was more of a Pixar fan but loved animation and stuff. And then she bought a coffee and left. Brilliant
Anyhow, intend on seeing this next week, and I’m excited. It’s been nice to see all your thoughts on here about the movie
Thanks TSS! Didja see the videos I uploaded on Youtube? I also wrote a review of the event itself… you might think I was pretty close, but I was literally on the red carpet within reach of Lucy Liu at one point! (On hindsight, I should’ve been shooting video on the carpet instead of rapidly snapping photos) You can check out the links in my signature, I don’t mean to gloat, but I just want to say I’m very grateful, and it pleases me to share my experience with y’all.
definedancing: “Dad, you got scratches on my Tigress!” Did you see this video? → Mr Ping’s Awesome Meals
Can’t wait to hear your review! If you liked the first, you’re gonna love the second!
Well, I just got back from the cinema after seeing Kung Fu Panda 2 and I have one word - WOW. It was incredible! I think this might just take the top spot for my favourite DreamWorks’ movie! Oh, and I think this might be the only DreamWorks’ production that I’ve actually cried in
Bring on Kung Fu Panda 3!
You cried? Oh wow! TO be honest, I came close to crying. If it was more dramatic and a little more dark, I think I would cry. But are they really making a Kung Fu Panda 3?
^ TSS: They want to go up to 6.
Is that really true?
Yes. They also want to do 3 HtTYD sequels, if my memory hasn’t betrayed me.
