Mars Needs Moms

A new Disney Animation movie, i’m not realy excited for this one. I don’t like the animation style in this movie, i mean… look at the kid at 0:29

Look here the trailer → youtube.com/watch?v=zAiDCPVcgpc (Who can spot Mr. Incredible? )

Okay, when i first saw this, i thought that it was going to be really outrageous. I would need a little more time and more clips to watch before i make decisions on whether to watch it or not.

No great fan of motion-capture “animation” here, so no plans to see Mars Needs Moms. Disney seems to be promoting it well enough, but it’s hard to foresee it doing well. Supposedly MNM is the final effort of ImageMovers Digital before its shutdown, but the story might continue with Real Steel later this year and Yellow Submarine in 2012.

Well, to quote gru from despicable me " Wow this is GARBAGE"

But anyone spotted Mr. Incredible

I can’t find Mr. Incredible, Dillinger. :frowning: Could you point him out?

Anyway, I don’t see why exactly this movie looks so bad. I don’t care one way or the other.

I can’t find Mr. I either.

^ Only good part of this trailer.

Oh, I see it now!! I wish it was more visual, though. Like with lighter lighting so we can see the poster more easily. I’m going to laugh if a lot of people end up loving this movie like HtTYD. I know it looks grim, but HtTYD and Tangled looked just as bad at the start, IMO.

Well, that kid does have a pretty cool poster! None the less, the trailer really creeped me out, especially when I saw it in 3D at the movie theatres. The 3D gave me such a headache, I couldn’t sit there for 2 minutes and watch it, let alone paying to see the whole thing.

Dude! I see him! Excellent work! Proops to you for finding him.

Mars Needs Moms reminds me of this movie I saw last night. See what I mean?

The movie you saw last night looks way cooler.

the first time I saw the trailer I looked at Mr. Incredible, that is sssssssssooooo sweet,

a great move from disney to promote The Incredibles Blu-ray

I see the lack of trailer-appeal, but I’m not judging this movie yet. I’ve been bitten in the rear by surprisingly good films enough in 2010. Not ding it again. 8D

I can’t believe this film escaped my radar (I mean, I knew of its existence, but I didn’t know it’s coming out next month! :open_mouth:). I finally got down to watching the trailer, and it’s… pretty disappointing.

As a commenter said:

I would add mocap that is between Polar Express and A Christmas Carol, a plot that’s a cross between The Brave Little Toaster goes to Mars and Jimmy Neutron the Movie, and a trash-landscape and robot character like Wall-E.

Now I’ve always said that you don’t have to be original to tell a good story. But I can hardly see any good story here. Besides contemporary references to Tron and Botox that will get dated fast, the jokes are not particularly funny.

There’s a great emotional potential in the form of the protagonist risking his life to save his mum, but I doubt this will be fully explored in lieu of pop-culture jokes and interactions with other supporting characters. Hopefully, the trailer is letting on less than what is actually in the movie, but I think I’ll pass on this. There’s hardly any promotional campaign in Australia anyway, so I’m not even sure if this is getting a cinematic release.

I´ll be watching Mars Needs Moms, just because Cars 2 tralier 2 will probably comes with this

I hope it’s okay. I mean, I saw how bad the trailer was. But I have this strange gut feeling that I want this to be a good movie. I’ll go have my head examined…

Heard that before,Disney seems to be promoting it well enough, but it’s hard to foresee it doing well.

^ Wow, quoted by a spambot…a new personal low!

One curiosity about Mars Needs Moms is Seth Green’s involvement (or not). Clearly he voiced the lead kid character:

Strangely enough, he’s not listed in the credits at IMDb, both at the movie’s entry and Green’s entry. Maybe that’s an odd oversight and not an indication that Green is detached from the project. Also, the trailer at Disney’s site sounds like there’s a different (real kid’s) voice.

Weird? “How do we get past all those Martians?”
