Mater and the Ghostlight

I dont remember. I only seen it once. But then

again, it could be. The lighting of the scenery could impact they colors a bit. It could make it lighter, darker,

or even a different color. I think he was blue.

JV - I’m pretty sure that his paint job was blue.

As a matter of fact, I’m 100% sure of it.

The Star Swordsman - I’m glad

that you liked the short! Would you place it high on your list of favorite Pixar shorts?

I honestly don’t know where I would place this short. ButI imagine it would be up there.

The Star Swordsman - Yeah,

it’s the same with me, as well. I think that Mater and the Ghostlight is my second

favorite Pixar short to boot.

I think it would

be rated third on my list. First is Jack-Jack Attack, Second would be Boundin

Ahh…so Jack-Jack Attack is

first on your list – heheh, I thought Boundin’ was at the top.

Does anyone

remember who’s idea it was to create/start production on Mater and the Ghostlight?

Was it John Lasseter or Joe Ranft? I seem to recall that Joe helped out with alot of the gags, but I don’t

remember if he was the producer/director of the project…

Well, Jack-Jack is one because it is the Incredibles. Boundin’ is second because it came with

TI. MATGL is third because it is a movie based short.

Ahh…I see. Well, that sure clears things up. I

figured that you picked Jack-Jack Attack first…because it is involved with

The Incredibles. I do have to admit that it is quite a funny short – I laughed

myself hoarse at the part where Kari almost plops Jack-Jack into the toilet… :stuck_out_tongue:

As for

Mater and the Ghostlight, that is also a very clever creation. My mom said that it

reminded her of the story of Ichabod Crane. No surprise there – heheh.

I think that MATGL was a clever idea. The fact of

revenge for annoyance reminds me of my little siblings.

Heh – you can

say that again. I have two siblings to relate that concept to. :unamused:

Mater is so scared, yet he doesn’t know. This makes the short even more fun.

I know – it’s hilarious. Makes me wonder if it was

April’s Fools day that night…? Probably not, though. I don’t think that the residents of Radiator Springs

could have waited that long to get back at Mater. :stuck_out_tongue:

I guess that night was just the wrong night

for Mater to annoy them.

Somebody ( i think it was Mitch ) said that Lightning and sally were probably on a date the

night mater scared him , so he wanted to get revenge ( in a funny sort of way ) . After all , he was there when

guido put on the light . I agree with this hypothesis ( guess ) .

The Star

Swordsman - Yeah – it was about time Mater got his…

gottalovepixar - Hmm. Well, it wasn’t me who suggested that. I image that,

if Sally and Lightning were to go out on a midnight date, it wouldn’t be right out in the open where everyone

could watch (and they were right smack dab in the middle of Flo’s Cafe at the time…with all the citizens of

Radiator springs centered around them). Of course, I could be wrong.

Well maybe the date was

over , or just starting , and they decided to meet at flo’s ?

Yeah, I remember someone saying something like that. Or maybe it was me. But oh well,

nice guess on who ever said it.

gottalovepixar - Heheh – perhaps so. Maybe they were exhausted from a previous

midnight drive and made the choice to grab a drink at the cafe’? (snigger) Actually, I think they were all just

gathered there so that they could scare Mater that night, which is precisely what they did. :stuck_out_tongue:

I wonder if they planed that before or after Mater scared

Lighting.

The Star Swordsman - Heheh

– I bet they planned it; unless someone just suggested the idea at the last minute. Although, the way the whole

plot was set up – with the Sheriff narrating a frightning story of the Ghostlight – …I betcha it was planned.
