Mitch- Buster looks great! As others have said, the shading is top-notch. it’s also a very completed piece of artwork, border and all- even little things like that make a difference. Good work on his coat; drawing animal fur has to be one of the hardest things to sketch, but you’ve done well, especially on his face. The lines could be a little shorter on his back and torso, but that’s only a minor thing. This has to be one of your best completed works yet!
Thanks so much Mitch! I love this pictur! He is so cute!

Marie - Sounds fine to me.
The Star Swordsman - Cha, I drew that quite some time ago. He was actually alot of fun to sketch. Heheh.
Maggie - Haha. Much obliged, Maggie!
lizardgirl - Why, thank you kindly! I will make sure to keep those wonderful words of wisdom (a.k.a., critiques) in mind.
Texas - You are most welcome! I’m glad you like him.

Waits very eagerly for my sketch…

Mitch : I just saw your Buster, and I’ve gotta say - you’re probably not gonna like it but I’ll tell you anyway - your Buster looks even more awesome than all your rats drawings
Archibald - Haha. On the contrary, I consider it to be quite a compliment! Thank you very much!

My apologies for the double post…
Butter and Blueberries:
Yes, well… Ahem. This one requires a little bit of explaining…
The day was, possibly, the thirteenth of September, 2007, and my sister and were bored, and not for the first time either. Remembering Ratatouille, I decided to pop in the trusty game, one that went by the same name, into our handy-dandy PlayStation 2 console. After some time, in which my seemingly fruitless efforts to complete a strikingly difficult bonus level resulted in a triumphant closure, my sister and I pulled out from within the depths of our minds a bout of craziness that only two adolescent teenage weirdos would dare to chuckle at. (Although, if you laugh at this story then, well, welcome to our world…) A gentle exchange of jibber-jabber turned into a juvenile joke…which then culminated in a rather “uproarious” conversation of hilarity and utter nonsense, all of which began with one simple question: “How did Remy turn blue?” Henceforth, this crazy story was born:
Remy, the rat with a nose for beauty in even the most subtle of culinary delights, was originally an albino-painted fluffball. Despite his inborn color being a rather unusual one amongst his clan, no one ever turned his back on or teased Remy for his seemingly outcast fur palette. Nevertheless, young Remy felt rather separated from his family anyway due to his love for fine food and delicious delicacies. He adored the art so much, in fact, that he would often sneak into farm lady Mabel’s diminuative kitchen to concoct various deserts and dinners, his nightly scuttles being out of range of the elderly woman’s knowledge.
One particular night, alone and unbeknownst to his family, Remy snuck into Mabel’s kitchen once again so as to create a tender, albeit hypnotic, batch of blue pancakes. It took the young chef only a matter of minutes to release a third of a bag of frozen blueberries into the depths of an oven pan before turning on a short spurt of fire – it ignited the underbelly of the now steam-licked pan and caused the iceburg-encrusted berries to sizzle and crack with excitement.
Momentarily satisfied, Remy made to closely examine his concoction for any sign of error or a misplaced blueberry. Oddly enough, he came to the conclusion that the pan may need some butter so as to keep the blueberries from sticking to the pan. (He was still a young rat at the time, and did conjure up amateurish thoughts from time to time.) So, ever so skillfully, he hopped up on top of a low platform – one that was attatched to a wall – above the blueberries. Ah! There it was: the butter! With the slippery eel of an ingredient within his sight, Remy made to reach for the butter. Unfortunately, and all too late, the poor rat realized that the butter had somehow escaped from its jar and had begun to spill over the edge of the platform that he was now clutching onto. It was inevitable, but Remy did his best to extract his paws from the greasy, slightly liquidy solid before he slipped; however, slip he did, and his fall was great…
Down…down…into the blueberry pool he went, somehow dislodging the top of the pan in the process and causing it to fall on top of and cover its pan counterpart, encasing Remy in the process. The poor rat rolled; the desperate rat struggled; the pitiful rodent yelped and screamed, but he could not, for the life of him, escape from his hot and sticky trap! The situation seemed hopeless…
After much pushing and shoving, Remy finally managed to escape from his blue-walled cage and take some deep, stuttering breaths of relief. It took him a few minutes to cool down and inhale the wonderful feeling of freedom, but he eventually got down to examining himself so as to be assured that nothing serious had become of his very precious and frail body. Tenderly, he checked his paws, feet, ears, and tail. Nothing seemed damaged or out of place (or out-of-color, for that matter), so he figured that all was well in the long run. Shaky, but intact, Remy confidently hopped off to extract some nearby sugar on the counter to sprinkle his valuable blueberries with…
Upon reaching the mirror-covered can of sugar, Remy noticed something blue drawing nearer and nearer towards the can… Startled, he instictively jumped back an inch! What was that…thing? Taking a closer look, he realized that “that blue thing” turned out to be…himself! Traumatized, Remy pulled and tugged at his fur, hoping upon hope that the thick blueberry stains would come off, but by no amount of tugging, washing, scratching, or spraying could he remove the ocean blue residue from his once snow white coat…
There was also a whole thing where Remy’s father, Django, punished Remy by cutting off some of his fur with a shard of glass whenever he got extremely riled up. Crude it may seem, but it was actually pretty hilarious…
So yeah. There is your…extremely detailed and intricate tale of how Remy proposedly turned blue. It is also just a diminuative demonstration of what my sister and I do when we’re insanely bored out of our minds, which is something that happens…alot.
