Mitch's Art

Love your drawings of hands, Mitch! I myself have no trouble at all drawing hands and fingers, but I stink at drawing female faces (I can’t get their face shape right, and they end up looking ‘mannish!’) Human figures are okay with me, I’m pretty adept at cars and inanimate objects. Animals are a toughie, like cats, dogs and horses. You’ve got a pretty good collection of artwork, I’ll have to trawl back through them and give my comments at a later time, but from what I’ve seen so far here and on DeviantArt, you’ve got impressive talent!

Great job on those hands Mitch! :-D)

I kinda caught on to the concept of hands early on since I use to draw from pictures all the time. I recently came up with a sort of formula that works for me, and am steadily getting better at it everyday…

As always in our case, practice makes perfect!

thedriveintheatre and Pixfan - Thank you very much, guys! I’m glad I’m not the only one who can draw hands.

Here is Russell from Pixar Animation Studios’ next film, Up:

I swear, I think that Russell just may be my favorite Pixar character now…

I’ll upload a sketch detailing how I draw hands momentarily.

– Mitch

Nice drawing of Russell Mitch. He looks really cute. Good stuff.

Russell looks great, Mitch! Some very smooth lines there, and I love his hair and his facial expressions. I find it funny you like him so much already- we’ve hardly seen anything of him yet! Personally, I think he’s a bit annoying, but I’m sure he’ll contrast well with Carl in the film. :stuck_out_tongue:

The Star Swordsman - Thanks, dude!

lizardgirl - Ha-ha! Yeah, I find the kid to be absolutely adorable. So I like Russell and you like Carl, eh?

This, my friends, is the result of boredom:

I had next-to-nothing to do last week while I was at the theater where I work, so I drew on my schedule sheet. Some of the people who passed by the ticket booth (where I was stationed at at that time) thought that they were cute. (chuckle)

– Mitch

Great art Mitch
Like how you did Russel. The film isn’t even out yet and there’s little of UP to come by for the moment, but your drawing him like a pro
Also like the hand gesture ones. I always have trouble with hands…very expressive

Nexas - Gee, thank you very much! I appreciate it.

That drawing right there, Mitch, is the result of the boredom of an amazing artist. Looks not just cute but awesomely cute.
And your Russel pics looks great, too! Well mastered.

bright dot-dasher - Aww, gee whiz, man. Well, thank you! Thank you very much! That’s the best I can do without references, as far as the WALL-E drawings are concerned, but I’m glad that you like 'em!

The Result of Boredom - Part II:

Dug

Pheh. I don’t like how the Dug sketches turned out…

I used references for almost all of the WALL•E drawings and for only one of the Dug sketches.

– Mitch

I reall ylike the WALL-E one Mitch. Seems like you were really bored because they are really good. Keep it up.

Looks like you got bored long enough to make them look like more than doodles, Mitch! Great job…the result of boredom and artistic vision.

The Star Swordsman and bright dot-dasher - Thanks, guys!

Puma Impressionist:

Russell is so cute.

A reference was used for this sketch.

Russell reminds me of my maltese puppy: cute and chubby. Really nice work Mitch. I like it.

I like your second set of sketches, Mitch. The ones of Dug look really good- they’ve got loads of personality. And your latest sketch of Russell is so sweet! You’ve got his expression just right.

The Star Swordsman - Ha-ha. I didn’t know that you owned a Maltese puppy. How cute!

Thanks for the comment!

lizardgirl - Thank you very much! I think I’m addicted to Russell, so you can expect more sketches of him.

– Mitch

You’re welcome Mitch. I can’t wait to see more from ya.

Mo: KEEP IT CLEAN

Imagine that on a shirt ^0^
