Sheila - No problem at all! It’s not a requirement to stop in here for a quick peek. Heheh.
Thank you very much for the comment!
The Star Swordsman - Thanks, dude!

That’s fantastic work, Mitch . Very nice.
Bill - Thanks, dude!
I should post up some of my sister’s “Nightmare Before Christmas” fan-art. Her style resembles that of Tim Burton’s to a tee – pointy, sharp, and dark. Yeah…maybe I’ll post up some of her artwork…

Mitch: You are welcome. Patch is one of my favorite dalmations. But, if I can request, would you draw Rollie, or Lucky?
The Star Swordsman - I am working on a composition featuring Larry the Cucumber next, but I’ll see if I can draw Rollie after that.
– Mitch
Oooh, I love Larry the Cucumber. He is my second favorite character in Veggietales. Good luck with him.
The Star Swordsman - Who’s your favorite? Heheh.
Thanks, dude!
Woah. Spur of the moment cartoon! What the heck?
It’s the Year of the Rat. Ratatouille came out last year. Go figure. As for me, I was born in the Year of the Snake. Yeah…
– Mitch
Mitch: My favorite is probably Bob the Tomato.
Oh yeah, that is a pretty awesome picture there. It looks incredible! Very nicely drawn Mitch.
Oh what a coincidence! I too was born on the snake year!
Really good drawing, Mitch. The posture of him is an improvement on your older rat sketches - he looks very cuddly, like a rat should. I also think the clenched left hand is quite good, as are the ears.
Is that any rat in particular or is it one of your own creations?
As for your Patch drawing, it looks so Disney-like!
I like the sketchy style of this, Mitch- it looks like something an animator or cartoonist would quickly draw out. There are a few more angles in this sketch that work really well.
The Star Swordsman - Oh yes, Bob is pretty cool, too.
Thank you for the comment! I appreciate it.
“Yay” for “Year of the Snake-ers.” (heheh)
rachel - I’m so pleased that you like it, as that particular sketch was drawn in approxiamately 5-10 minutes. (It’s probably the one that will get me into Pixar. Ha-ha…)
I originally intended to draw Remy for the occasion (surprise, surprise), but it eventually merged into a random rat character. I kinda like how he turned out, actually. I asked my sister to give him a name and she mentioned “Gabor”, which seems to fit quite well. Perhaps you’ll see the little fellow in future comics of mine. (snigger)
Thanks again for the comments on both compositions!
lizardgirl - That’s exactly what I was going for, even though I didn’t intend for the final drawing to look like that! I should do this kind of thing more often… (heheh)
Thank you very much!
– Mitch
You’re welcome MItch. I can’t wait for more!
You’re very welcome, Mitch. Your mention of your comic book has gotten me intrigued.
The Star Swordsman - Thanks!
rachel - I actually have several comics planned; the problem is finding time to begin at least one or two of them. I’m hankering to get on it though, so we’ll see what happens. (heheh)
– Mitch
Mitch - Yeah. I know what you mean. Well, when you do get it done, I would love to see it. Is it going to be based on Ratatouille?
My guess it is going to be something not Pixar-related. I mean, if it is going to be a ratatouille comic, shouldn’t it be in the Pixar Fandom section?
rachel - One of the comics is Star Wars-related, whilst the other is, as you speculated, Ratatouille-related. The latter will probably be the likelier of the two to feature “Gabor”, obviously.
The only problem I have with creating comics is that, unfortunately (and naturally), I lack the necessary knowledge to place characters in a variety of poses. This is one of the reasons why I’m hesitant to get started, but no wars were ever won by the act of negligence. (snigger)
So yeah. I may just work on something today, now that I’ve been talkin’ about it.
– Mitch
Mitch - Well, now that you have “let the rat out of the bag” so to speak, I am really looking forward to to it. But no pressure.
rachel - Well, thank you. I appreciate it.
Photoshop CS2 Practice - Hula:
You have no idea how long it took me to color this darn thing. My main focus was on honing in on my Photoshop skills, but I ended up getting nowhere besides “reinstalling” practices I had exercised previously. Not to mention, the anatomy is completely bogus on this particular composition, hence the odd position/stance of the character featured above.
The pose was actually copied/obtained from a drawing of a rat in the Pixar Animation Studios short film, Your Friend the Rat. Near the end of the black and white film featured in the short, a miniature sketch of a female rat doing the hula can be seen in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. I thought it was rather charming, so I decided to draw it in my sketchbook. Unfortunately, the final result did not turn out as well as I had hoped, but I will admit that this was partially due to the fact that I did not put as much effort in it as I should have.
Ah well. There’s always tomorrow… (heheh)
– Mitch
That’s really cute Mitch!
