Mitch's Glitches

All so spectacular! I agree that the first 3-4 go together well just like a funny comic strip. The rest are amazing shots, truly. Wow those clouds look beautiful- lovely capture! “Up to Something?” and “Best Friends” are really great and my personal faves.

Wonderful! I like the 2nd and 3rd ones! Great use of text and humor! The ‘Best Friends’ one is my favorite though as that scene itself is great.

Thank you very much for your kind comments, everyone!

I actually thought that the “Your fly is down” one was cruder – more vulgar than “shut up” anyway.

Yep, it was from one of the Up featurettes (I neglect to remember which one it was from, though.)

I believe that it is a font entitled “Viva Std”, but don’t quote me on that.

Another impressive batch, Mitch! <img src=“{SMILIES_PATH}/grinandwink.gif” alt=“;-D” title="Grin and

Wink" />

Aw, Russell looks so sweet in the first signature. Ha-ha, Kevin’s face is so funny. It makes for a great introduction of the character. “Uh, sir, your fly is down…” - no comment. :stuck_out_tongue: I like how you’ve left a few of them with no text, you just let the beautiful scenery do the talking. Good to have another Russell fan in the house! =)

Can’t wait to see more!

Rachel - Many thanks, Rachel!

Exactly. I hesitated to put it up, but figured, “What the heck”, 'cause I’m crude like that. Then again, maybe it was a little too over-the-top… (snigger)

More like a geek. I’m so obsessed with Russell it’s not even funny. Still, I’m glad I’m not the only fan!

– Mitch

I’m loving all of your new signatures, Mitch! You’ve got a really great variety of funny signatures (I love the fly one ) with sentimental and sad ones. The ‘upheaval’ one is so sad but I love it, I absolutely love it.

lizardgirl - Thank you very much!

Not to sound cocky or anything, but I also like how that “Upheaval” signature turned out. I was flipping through my pocket dictionary at one point, trying to find words that began with “up” that fit that image, and “upheaval” seemed to suit the situation. In any case, I’m glad that you like it!

– Mitch

Yet another batch has been baked! I was bored, plus… I’d been wanting to do this “Proud of It…” series for a while now…

Proud of It -

In-Jokes by 'Da Sisters -

Extras -

That last one is a compliment, Mr. Stanton. Quality over quantity!

– Mitch

Nice pics ,Mitch! I especially like the “video game addict” and “Geek” ones. Very clever.

I agree. Nicely done!

Great ones! I especially like the “Proud of it” series, and my favorites of those are Proud to be a Geek, Proud to be a Wilderness Explorer, and Proud to be a Princess (haha, just look at Dot’s expression there…oh, i just can’t wait to be queen…).

Lots of siggies! Glad you’ve been able to keep a steady supply of those creative graphics coming, Mitch! Oh, those in-jokes had me laughing. Even though I didn’t understand them, they were hilarious. Andrew Stanton looks so serious in the last signature. I like that one, too. Great tagline as well.

Those “proud to be…” siggies are really clever and a good way to express our patriotism, or pride in other pursuits. Where did you get the idea of making those? I’m going to put my dibs on the “Proud to be Australian” one. (Well, it’s not as if there’s really that many other Aussies here that might take that one, heheh.) I’ll wear it after I’ve given my current signature a good run.

Keep it up!

Very cool Mitch! The in-jokes ones really made me laugh, especially the ones with WALL-E and Crush

Thanks for the comments, everyone! I’m glad you like 'em.

bright dot-dasher - Originally, I wasn’t going to put up that Dot one, but my sister liked her expression so I uploaded it anyway.

Rachel - Ha-ha. I knew you’d like the “Aussie” one. Feel free to take it!

As for where I got the idea for the “Proud of it…” series: I uploaded a composition on deviantArt some time ago, one that I named, “Proud of It”. I guess that’s where I got the idea from. Also, I’d wanted to do that “Proud to be Californian” signature for a long time, sooo… yeah… Heheh.

– Mitch

Mitch: Oh. My. Goodness. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed harder at anyone else’s graphics… seriously, the tears are streaming down my face right now, and my head hurts from accidentally banging it into the desk from laughing. It was you and your sister’s inside jokes… They were just… oh my gosh… they were so me and my sister!!! (The last two of the inside jokes had me nearly wetting my pants…!) Man, I wish I could stick around you guys while watching Pixar films… I’d have the time of my life!!!

Oh geez… I hope you don’t mind if I use one of these siggys you’ve made here soon, because I’m thinking of changing mine and nothing I’ve made recently really says “WEAR ME!” Oh, would you mind if I tried on one of your in-joke siggys…? That would totally make my week.

You always do such nice graphics… and I love the “proud to be…” series. (Maybe we could collab…?) I think I like the “Californian” and “Princess” ones the best … well, I’m certainly not a Californian, but my name does mean princess…! :stuck_out_tongue:

little chef

Ha-ha!! Well, thanks, red!! Making people laugh is one of my jobs, sooo… yeah… I’m glad that I was able to give you guys a good chuckle!

My work here is done!! I figure that once someone passes the “pant-wetting” stage I’ve accomplished a goal or something.

Believe me, if you were around my sister and I all the time (or, at least during the times that we go into a spoofing fit) you’d probably have a heart attack. Not to brag or anything, but, one time, my sister made me laugh so hard that I didn’t just wet my pants… (This was ages ago, when I was a little kid, but that ain’t the point. She still makes me pee my pants sometimes.) :stuck_out_tongue:

I swear, we’re gonna have to get together one of these days and just… go wild. The stuff we could think up would probably be, you know, epic. We’ve gotta collaborate more often.

Oh, sure! Go ahead. Take 'em all! (snigger)

Totally

Your name means “princess”? Cool!

Thanks again, red! I appreciate the comments.

– Mitch

More awesomeness! Gotta love it.
I like the “Video game addict” and “Geek” sigs from the “Proud to be…” series, for obvious reasons. :stuck_out_tongue:
I laughed so hard at the last of the “In Jokes” series. That would be such a ‘killer’ ending for Finding Nemo!
Love the Sally sig best of the Extras. Dunno why, maybe it’s cos of the amount of detail in the background (with all the cones props), or that she’s my fave character from Cars. Neato!
I also chuckled at Russell’s gaping mouth in the second sig. This is gonna get real bad…
And I dunno whether Stanton actually said that, but that is good advice! Hear that, Dreamworks?

thedriveintheatre - Thank you very much, dude!

I just made up that Stanton quote, but if he actually said that it would be a pretty big coincidence. (snigger)

  • Up -

I was debating whether or not I should put these up (no pun intended), but I finally decided to do so. Each shot was obtained from one of the behind-the-scenes featurettes (one of the latest ones, I believe), but when I captured them… I felt as if I’d commited a crime or something, as if any image that I captured from that particular featurette was too precious to be fooled with…

Nevertheless, I touched just a couple of screencaps up in Photoshop and submitted them to Photobucket. I still feel kind of guilty…

On a slightly different note, I’m completely infatuated with Russell. It took me some weeks to understand why I like him so much, and I now realize that it’s because he is, in essence, almost an exact duplicate of my sister and I when we were young. Even though I’m not a boy, I relate to him on more levels than one. As for the adoration part of it, that’s not vainness at all, and it’s not that kind of a love either, but more of an, “Aww, look at the puppy dog” kind of love. Heheh.

By the way, I really do like Carl Fredricksen as a character, even though I hardly ever talk about him at all. His history, expressions, and personality appeal to me, and, concerning looks, he reminds me a lot of my late grandfather. That particular shot (above) is my favorite of any image in Up so far. It’s so iconic – it tells a book without speaking a word.

– Mitch

I don’t remember the one of Russell with his back to the wall, but I remember the one of Carl and his ‘book of adventures.’ Such a poignant shot! :frowning:

Yeah, Pixar’s images are too awesome to tamper with! Joking, I think it’s okay you have enhanced them, although I don’t have the featurette with me now for comparisons.
Good that you found out the rationale behind your ‘Russell crush’. Pixar movies are great because they bring out that childhood nostalgia value and memories I guess… I felt the same way watching Cars and Wall-E for some reason I couldn’t explain why. Just pure joy and exuberance…

Carl is also an interesting character for me, probably one of Pixar’s most multi-dimensional character, because he is tortured and conflicted, in some way? Like he has to find a way to ‘let go’ and [spoil]seek closure to his late wife by granting her one last wish[/spoil]? You can see he’s very reserved and nasty towards others because he’s bitter because of all the opportunities he missed when he was younger because he was not brave enough to explore… and it’s on this adventure with another person he has to take care of that he seeks that redemption…
