Most overrated films of all time

I enjoyed Avatar, but I do agree that it was a bit overrated.

looks like James Cameron is the lord of the overrated films, his truly masterpieces will always be TRUE LIES, TERMINATOR 2 and ALIEN

Oh thank goodness it’s already been mentioned. I think Avatar is waaaaaaay overrated. It’s not that I hate the actually movie itself, it’s just that hype and stuff over it is ridiculous. I also agree with Harry Potter, ugh, I can’t wait for it to end!!!

Avatar wasa visual spectacle, but I think if you take that away, there is nothing else really under it.

Yes!! Agree times 50.

basically this.

OMG WHYYY.

I heard that J.K. Rowling might do an 8th story, and when i say might, i say “probably not”. Daniel Radcliffe is going to miss Harry Potter once the series is finally over.

I love every thing about Harry Potter, and I believe it deserves the praise its getting.

Personally I think the earlier Harry Potter movies are underrated, up to about the third one, then the later ones are overrated imo.

Why do I dislike Harry Potter? Several reasons…one being that there are WAY to many of them. I feel it is very unnecessary to exceed more than 3 in a movie series. That’s just my preference though. Another thing is that it isn’t my cup of tea, fantasy isn’t in my top genres exactly. The other reason I dislike it is because of the insane amount of hype etc over it, that really annoys me and makes me not want to watch it. Again, this is my opinion so please don’t go off on a rant at me or anything. :frowning:

This. I love the first and second one, and nobody ever mentions them. But, if I lived with myself and without my sister, I would burn the other 4 DVDs. I really do not appreciate the new ones or they hype they generate.

Miss Carrera, I agree with you. Movies I don’t love, when extremely hyped, seem even less interesting to me than otherwise. For example, with a movie like Bee Movie. It’s terrible. I don’t like it. However, I’d rather watch it than any new HP movie or anything Twilight. Because it lacks a huge annoying fan base.

naw, i was just wondering was all. i don’t entirely agree with you or anything, but i think i get what you’re saying and i respect it.

HALF BLOOD PRINCE (the movie, not the book) WAS A DISASTER THOUGH, I’M JS.

Virginia: Although I disagree with you, I respect your opinion. But if you dont mind me asking, when Deathly Hallows came out, I had Snape sigs and avatar, and you said you really liked them and liked Harry Potter. What changed your mind?

Yeah, the Half Blood Prince’s plot really distracted away from the real problems and went around the social relationships between one another, which still confused me why Jenny took a liking for Harry and why Ron took a liking to Hermoine when the two of them were at each other like cat and hamster, which ironically their pets were too until Year 3.

I felt that the relationships were both very real. You can really see it in the books, but the movie not so much.

Thank you to those who respected my opinion. That was very polite of you. The last post brings up another issue…books turned into movies. Perhaps I would have liked the movies better had I read the books.

Harry Potter probably has a much bigger fan base, it’s just the Twilight fanbase is VERY vocal which is annoying sometimes.

Hahaha! I think that’s probably because the Twilight fanbase is mostly composed of young teen girls, the Harry Potter fanbase has more of a variety to it. 8D

EJE: I like Snape, and the first two movies. I never changed my mind. I may have grown more hostile to the recent releases, but only because everyone I know(here and IRL) shoves it down my throat. When you’re not a big fan of something, rabid fans in your friend circle make you appreciate it less and less(without this, I would be more neutral to Little Mermaid, Finding Nemo, and the new HP’s I think.).

I like HP films, but I understand your point, that is exatly how I feel with the twilight films and lady gaga, they are annoying
