My brother watched it one day, and my girlfriend watched it another day. They both thought that it was an okay movie. The effects were there and incredibles, but my brother said that there could’ve been more action scenes. my girlfriend thought it dragged a little bit.
Just out of curiostiy:
Is anyone interested in seeing “Hairspray”?
Only I can’t get enough of the trailer and am quite eager to watch the thing on the big screen this month. I’m lovin’ the hip and jazzy soundtrack, and the basic theme of the film has really captured my attention. I don’t think I’ve been this interested in a potentially good live-action film since…Revenege of the Sith.

Mitch: I’m looking forward to Hairspray, even though John Travolta in drag is just freakin’ scary! xD
Yesterday, I watched the rest of Good Boy- a cheesy good film.
Last night, I watched all of Thumbelina and it left me in shock.
And just this morning, I watched Fairy Tale, which I haven’t seen since I was really little. It’s an excellent film Peter O’Toole (Anton Ego) was in it!
And after I finish up online, I’m going to watch The Truth About Cats and Dogs, just because Janeane Garofalo is in it.
Yes that is true… they could have done away with some of the boring scenes and the immature teenage actors.
So the remaining movies on my list to see this summer are:
- Live free or Die Hard
- The simpson movie
- The Bourne Ultimatium
- Rush Hour 3
I finally watched The Truth About Cats and Dogs, and Janeane Garofalo, just like in Ratatouille [spoil]is in skates! xD I wonder if that film inspired that scene …[/spoil]
Mitch: I am not really intrested, but i will watch it, as i already saw a professional staged version of hairspray and I have to say, sometimes, somethings are meant only for the stage. Besides, I don’t like some of the actors in the movie.
I must see Simpsons Movie and Rush Hour 3 though.
TSS - Here’s something that will make you want to see The Simpsons Movie even more. They looked at The Incredibles for inspiration for the animation which was " a great education in staging because of how the characters are placed " .
That is intresting information. Where did you find out about that Bill?
TSS - I found that out on the New York Times website. Sadly, I can’t seem to find the article. It must’ve been erased or something.
Well, thanks for the information. You are kinda right. Knowing that makes me want to watch it a little more than I used to.
So… how many of you have had the luxury of seeing Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix yet? I just got back from my first viewing of the film, and I must say that it was really enjoyable. What I really enjoyed was seeing Helena Bonham Carter as Bellatrix Lestrange. The only part of it I didn’t like was the length-time (138 minutes, 2 hrs. 18 minutes) because I had to go to the restroom but just couldn’t bring myself to leave the theater (for obvious reasons) .
Well, according to my aunt, she thought some of the Harry Potty-I mean Potter,sorry-hype was a little too crazy. She was mentioning how kids as young as 6-I think even younger!-were seeing the pre-screenings at like 11 PM the other night. Geez, some kids of the kids she mentioned came in limos!
To finish this ‘spell’ off, she said the movie kept skipping and glitchy, and a riot nearly broke out cause it skipped through 10 minutes.
And I won’t be seeing anymore movies this summer, unless my mom takes me alone to see Ratatouille again.
(P.S.-My aunt didn’t go to the whole Harry Potter thing, she heard about it at work. )
I just watched Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs= classic and Twenty Bucks, which was an odd movie but overall enjoyable.
OH I am really, really excited to see the next Harry Potter movie. I heard a great review about it. I hope to see it soon.
I rewatched Who Framed Roger Rabbit a couple of days
ago… in my opinion, it’s still one of the greatest movies of all time.
Bill - I was just thinking of
that film! Heh…
Yeah, it’s a classic, man. It used to give me the creeps when I was younger, but I
was so entranced by the thing that I couldn’t stop watching it. It’s always been one of my favorite
productions. I love it…
Actually, my dad got this close (----->
<-----) to working on the dang film. So…close! Oh well… (snigger)
I have to say I am sure, crazy about Rush Hour 3! I
have loved the first two ever since I first saw it. I saw the trailer and I was laughing hysterically! It opens
in a few days! I can’t wait.
TSS - How
did I know that you were going to mention that movie?
The Bourne
Ulitimatum opened to theaters on Friday. I haven’t seen the previous two films (I probably will
sometime in the future) , but I hear that a fourth movie could be in the works.
Two of my friends watched that movie. One
said that is was such an awesome movie. He loved it so much and it was one of the best films he saw this year.
However, the other one said that The Bourne Ulitimatum made him a little too
dizzy.
