Help! (1965) - I loved it! It’s deliberately campy, and very 60’s, but that’s partly why it’s so fun and appealing. The ending felt rushed, but I enjoyed it. If you love the Beatles, it’s basically a necessity.
Just saw Birdcage what a good movie. The polt and storyline is very interesting. Robin Williams and Nathan Lane do a great job.
My Beautiful Laundrette It was…interesting. There was a lot going on. One thing I loved about the movie was how it didn’t end in a sad way.
The Secret of Kells Is there anybody else who couldn’t get into this movie? I stopped watching it about about 30 minutes into it.
I’ve been watching a lot of movies lately, but the two best I’ve seen in the past few weeks were Moon and Star Trek. Both really exciting and intriguing movies.
theoutsider1983: Really? The plot isn’t the deepest ever, but the movie’s short enough for it to keep your interest IMO.
I guess I can see why you may not be immediately interested in it, but like Bryko said, it’s short. Only about 75 minutes long. I was honestly wishing it could be longer.
One of my favorites!
I just borrowed copy of Shutter Island because some friends recommended it to me and said it was excellent. I’m looking forward to watching it sometime this weekend, and I’m pretty sure I’ll like it because: 1. It’s a Scorsese film 2. It’s a psychological thriller and 3. DiCaprio’s in it.
I’m recording Iron Man this weekend. I’m interested in the whole idea of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with all these movies being connected.
Few I’ve seen lately:
Horrible Bosses - B
Mostly entertaining, but suffers from unnecessary vulgarity and uninspired characterizations
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 - B
Disappointing. Contained a few great scenes but everything felt less exciting than it should’ve been.
Captain America: The First Avenger - A-
Never bored me for a second. Great casting, appealingly old-fashioned production design, and terrific pacing made for a breezy 2 hours.
I’ll give The Secret of Kells another chance. I just wish I would have seen it in the theater instead of buying the Blu-ray. I would have saved myself 10 bucks.
The Flamingo Kid This movie was a nice suprise. It’s a funny touching coming of age story set in the 60’s that has awesome songs playing throughout the movie.
Spiderman 3 “C”
This movie was average at best. It could of been better without some of its horrible moments. I was upsect that Venom got very little screentime due to “Emo” Peter. I guess there were some pretty good action scenes that made up for those moments that were terrible.
Super Mario Brothers “F”
I wanted to really see how terrible this was considering alot of people said that the movie was bad. The acting was pretty much terrible for the most part. The effects really didn’t impress me. I really hated how the movie ended on a cliffhanger if you know what I mean. It ends [spoil]with Daisy holding a flame thrower and smiling at Mario and Luigi.[/spoil] Overall, this movie was just terrible. It probably ranks in the top 5 for me as far as worst movies I’ve seen.
This movie is the reason why Nintendo won’t allow any more of their properties to be made into movies. There was a Zelda fan who made a movie based on the character a few years ago. He posted it on the internet, and Nintendo made him take it down. I haven’t seen it, but I read that it wasn’t bad. I’ve never seen the Mario movie, but I’ve always been curious about it. For a long as I can remember, I remember hearing that it wasn’t good.
Planes, Trains and Automobiles This was a great movie. Today was my first time watching it. It’s now one of my favorite comedies. I was suprised that I was touched by a few scenes. I laughed until I couldn’t breath during the car rental scene where a certain four letter word was used over and over and over again.
12 Angry Men I loved this movie.
12 Angry Men is one of my favorite films ever. I love films with just one set, as they usually need a very strong script.
Same here! It goes to show you don’t need elaborate sets or locations, a great movie is always judged by it’s story, first and formost.
Friends with benefit: 3 stars. I liked No Strings attached but this movie beats it by alot. Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis’s chemistry is great, Woody Harrelson is very funny. It is also educational in someways and overall is a fun movie.
Horriable Bosses: 3 stars. The best parts are in the trailer but Jennifer Aniston does an amzing job and is as always very beautiful. Kevin Spacey and Collin Farrell give great performances as the bosses too and really take them to another level. They were the best part about the movie
Home Alone “A-” Recently saw this one a little while ago. Very underrated film. This was probably one of favorite movies today and when I was growing up. Its very enjoyable and funny to watch. It annoyed me that they released those horrible sequels. Overall, highly recommend it.
I just saw Secret of Kells, and honestly I was hoping it was gonna be a lot better. I liked it, and it was absolutely gorgeous, but I just didn’t think the story was strong enough and I got bored throughout it. I give them props for the artwork though. It was beautiful
Dear Reader, Wizard People- Basically this is the first Harry Potter movie, with commentery over it. It is HILARIOUS. The plot is changed as with some characters names (Ronnie the Bear, Harmony, Snake, Near Dead Dumbledore, Professor Kitty Face Mewomers). I give it an A+
The Ugly Truth- A pretty funny comedy, not my favorite, but it was entertaining. I give it a B-
Edward Scissorhands- One of my favorite Burton movies. I loved it so much, it was a great story. I give it an A
I loved Edward Scissorhands only emo movie I enjoyed.
Harry Potter and the Prisnor of Azkaban- 3 1/2 stars- Just a very fun movie. I loved it from start to finish.
Harry Potter and the Goblet of fire 3 1/2 stars- Action packed, Harry, Ron and Hermione really mature as the actors do.
I am going to try to watch order of Phoenix here soon!
My dad hates Edward Scissorhands, but I’ll admit I watch it every single Halloween when it comes on. <3
