Movies - both new and old

Yep, it was p. bad.

Leirin: Yes, the fact that none of the original people were on it made it worse.

Seven Years in Tibet: 2 and half stars.

Brad Pitt’s acting is great as usual. But the movie didn’t get me as interested as I am usually in his movies.

Zoolander: One of my favorite comedies, gave it a rewatch with a friend of mine. It is such a quoteable movie! I give it an A.

Our Idiot Brother: This movie was not only hilarious, but well written and well told. I defitnely reccomend it to anyone over 17. It was full of laughs, and even a few heartwarming moments. I give it an A-

My brother and I love Zoolander! We quote the “Is this a centre for ants?” line and sing 'Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" randomly from time-to-time.

I rewatched Legend of the Guardians at my friends’ house the day before yesterday. Still as beautiful and captivating as I remembered it from last year (It’s the only film I watched twice at IMAX). I’d even go to say it’s my favourite non-Pixar CGI-animated film of all-time. <3

Going to watch Final Destination 5 with my mates tonight. Not really frightened by gore movies (not because I’m desensitized, but because the likelihood of these scenarios happening in real-life are incredibly slim), so it should be amusing to see my friends freak out over this.

Haha, oh yeah! That movie is so quoteable!

Harry Potter and the Half Blooded Prince 3 and half stars. Emotional movie the charatcers realy grow in those one too. Touching end. Now ready for Deathy Hallows part 1 and 2!

Did yuo never see any of them in theaters?

You haven’t see it yet? Oh man, if you loved the Half Blood Prince, you’ll love the Deathly Hallows.

Grown Ups: I didn’t like this film at all. It had no story what so ever and it felt like it was made only for laughs. To me, it felt more like Shark Tale with the same formula that this movie follows. The jokes were pretty lame and a little too juvenile for my liking. It’s barely avoiding an F because it did have about two jokes that got a chuckle out of me. D-

I am planning to watch it tonight . I loved Half Blood Prince so now I am stoked for Deathly Hallows .

My list of films I saw this year from best to worst.

  1. Rango (A-)
  2. Pooh (A-)
  3. Rio (B+)
  4. Cars 2 (B-)
  5. The Green Hornet (D)
  6. Transformers Dark of the Moon (D)

Saw Deathy Hallows Part 1. 3 and half stars. TSS was right. Man the actors keep on maturing. It is really good. Though Netflix made the dvd a little choppy I still enjoyed it.

I can’t wait to see Drive tomorrow. I hear it is the best movie of its genre (arthouse entertainment).

When do you plan to see part 2 of the Deathly Hallows Race&Animationfan?

I’m surprised you didn’t see any of them in theaters.

I saved it on Netflix so when it comes out on Netflix I can watch it. May be a few more months though.

Here are some movies I saw recently

Drive: 4 starrs and on my great movies list now. This movie has everything I could want in a movie, action, violence, love, and auto racing. Ryan Gosling is an excellent actor. This movie was Art.

The usual subspects: 3 and a half stars: Kevin Spacey proves how amazing of an actor he is. It is a really good movie. The plot is laid out, the story happens, then a twist.

The Mexican: 3 stars. Nice to see Brad Pitt being an idiot. It’s a pretty funny movie and has somereally nice scenes.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit: This was a very good crossover between live-action and animation. Loved Bob Hoskins and Christopher Lloyd performances in this. I mean, it was great to see Disney and Warner Brothers being able to settle their differences back then here. Overall, really good film. Definitly recommend checking this out. A+

I agree with everything RA said. One of the things I loved about the movie was how quite it was through out most of the film. You usually don’t get that in a film like Drive. I will be seeing it again with in the next couple of days. I also love the soundtrack. I can’t stop playing it. I realized that Ryan was an excellent actor when he made me feel for him when I saw Lars and the Real Girl earlier this year. A movie like that probably would have been an unintentional comedy in the hands of a lesser actor. I also loved him in Stupid Crazy Love. He was very charismatic! To me, watching him is like watching a young Al Pacino. When he was younger, he oozed charisma! He’s two for two so far this year IMO. I wonder if he will be three for three with the movie he got coming out with George Clooney.

Edit: I saw Drive again today and I loved it even more the second time!

Our Idiot Brother: I thought it’d be another boring ‘comedy’. But this was actually a very well written and presented movie, that made me laugh a lot! I give it an A.

Religulous: An Anti-Religion Documentery. While it did have many good points and was very informative, I felt that it was way to critical. Like most documenteries it only focused on the extreme and distasteful aspects of the subject. They didn’t even show more liberal followers of Christianity, and how religion can be beneficial.

However, I am glad of all the hypocrcies it pointed out with many groups of Christianity who act anything but Christlike. (Such as WBC), as well as pointing out that the Founding Fathers DID NOT want a Christan nation, and were in fact actually Deists. Something the Tea Party in the US seam to ignore.

I give it a B-.

I’d love to see it again. I am def buying it when it is on DVD.
