Movies - both new and old

I’m somewhat interested in the movie The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie (1969), has anyone seen it?

Haven’t seen it, but it seems interesting from what I read about it^^.

Tangled Ever After was good. Had some great humor that the old Looney Tunes shorts used to have with its physical humor.

I enjoyed 50/50 quite a lot more than the supposed comedy of the year, Bridesmaids.

That one was good, but the script was flawed, specially at the end (and yet it got nominated :open_mouth: ), and unlike 50/50, it relied too heavily in gross humor.

I’m gutted 50/50 didn’t get a Best Original Screenplay nomination, and I know it’s a long shot but I really wanted Joseph Gordon-Levitt to get a Best Actor nomination too…although I am thrilled for Gary Oldman

Of the Acting roles, I’m mostly pissed about Melissa McCarty being nominated.

Also, The Iron Lady hasn’t been released here, but apparently the film isn’t that good and people are saying Streep got the nomination just for tradition.

I haven’t seen it yet although it’s been out a few weeks here. I still think they could’ve actually got a British actress to play, y’know, a British PM? Oh well 8D
I don’t get Jonah Hill’s nomination. I think he’s constantly good but he hasn’t done anything great so far imo.

I forgot him!

I’m also pissed by that one. He was good in Moneyball, but in an average level.

I agree. Although I don’t think Brad Pitt was that great either.

Yes. I excuse that one because he’s a great actor and has been around for a good time.

I would like to watch All About Eve again sometime.

I like that movie a lot!

I really enjoyed it the last time I saw it^^.

All About Eve is a masterpiece.

I specially love the fact that most of the film is a flashback, something that wasn’t pretty common at the time.

The flashback thing is an interesting point.

I watched it last night (thank you youtube!). Very enjoyable.

Fasten your seatbelts. It’s going to be a bumpy night

Bette Davis <3 One of my favorite actresses.

I also saw it on YT. Didn’t exactly have good quality, but it was still good to see it.

Has anyone seen A History of Violence? I read it was the last movie releashed on VHS.

Yes, but I didn’t watch it in VHS.

Is it any good?
