Oh pff, didn’t even occur to me to do that. Actually, my parents have Netflix. Maybe I should bribe Dad to rent it for me and watch it with him. ![]()
I loved the new Winnie the Pooh, but I don’t really see it as big screen material.
I think Winnie the Pooh could have been made into a few really charming short films instead, actually. I liked the film but i found it to be very forgettable.
Opted out of going to the cinema tonight
. Wanted to check out A Monster in Paris but I have no money…and payday is tomorrow!
Totally agree.
It was a sweet film though. But just too understated for it’s own good, especially for a Disney film.
I can understand what your trying to say. Anyway, I should try to go to the cinema soon to check out Tin Tin while it’s still out. But no way that will happen since we rarely go there.
You really should. It’s how a motion capture film should look (although i’d really rather not get into that debate again).
So yeah, must. see. A Monster In Paris. ![]()
I don’t really care if it’s motion capture, I just hope it’s a great film and worth seeing.
I really enjoyed Winnie the Pooh but I can see what you all mean, it played it safe a little more than I was hoping for. Still very charming and entertaining, just not immensely satisfying or adventurous like the originals.
I watched some of The Social Network yestrday. Only a couple scenes though.
I loved the new Winnie the Pooh movie. I agree, they defintely played it safe, butI don’t know what else they could of done. I enjoyed how traditional it was. My problem with it was that it was waaaaay too short.
Exactly. I loved EVERYTHING about Pooh. Except, I would have traded my right arm for 20 more minutes. ![]()
Like I said, it isn’t exactly big screen material since the books were extremely short. The movie itself was only about 70 minutes if I’m not mistaken.
That’s a good point about the original film being a similar length. I’ll probably buy the movie on blu-ray and show it to my future kids when they’re young, but like I said, it just felt like a well-made direct-to-video sequel! That’s sort of a back-handed compliment, I guess. I don’t expect a feeling of epicness from Pooh, but ehhh… Not quite memorable enough. It didn’t quite melt my heart like I wanted it to.
Johnny English: Reborn: I don’t know what to say about this one, it is funny but stupid at times. I enjoyed it in terms of comedy and definitely had some laugh out loud moments, but some things really frustrated me, so I would say it’s around low - average.
Grease: Yup, finally watched this! I enjoyed it. The acting is very fun and I love the music. It’s all very silly and extreme and I can’t say I morally agree with everything in the film, but it seems more like a loving homage to the 50’s rather than a message/moral-oriented ‘family movie’, so I don’t have a beef with it. 8/10
Footloose: Kind of a dorky movie, but thoroughly entertaining and I, for once, really like the main character, who surprised me by not matching the stereotyped ‘rebel without a cause’ character and proved to be pretty interesting. There’s some really fun parts in this movie. 8/10
I also saw that Grease was on.
Anyone like Revenge of the Nerds?
I actually enjoyed Grease when I watched it a while ago. I haven’t seen Footloose yet.
Agree with you, Leirin, Grease has on horrible moral. I don’t really like that film. Only thing would be that Olivia Newton John is great on it…
And which version of Footloose did you see?
Ew, I resent Grease(no offense). When I was little I was indifferent, but much like Wizard of Oz, I have my personal issues with it as an older kid.
