Movies - both new and old

Take my word, it isn’t 2 hours. Most films are two hours, one hour and a half long.

This one passes the 3 hour mark.

I always said it was three hours (or slightly longer), while you argued that it was two.

No I said it was 3 and you said that it is 2 hours if you don’t add the credits. I am confused.
Anybody watched Happy Feet? I liked the 1st one but they shouldn’t of made a 2ND one it just ruined it.

According to IMDB Titanic is 194 minutes long. 180 minutes is 3 hours, so yes, it’s technically a bit past 3 hours.

And I’ve never seen Happy Feet.

Happy Feet is okay. Not great though.

I think it is okay. Over The Hedge is a good movie in my opinion.

I think Over the Hedge is enjoyable.

The first time I watched it I thought it was hilarious for some reason. 8D

Over The Hedge is quite good.

Over the Hedge is quite underrated in my opinion. It’s definitely one of my favorite Dreamworks features.

I don’t think it’s a good film, but it’s not too bad either.

I would put it in the middle of Dreamworks efforts.

I’m not a Happy Feet fan, though I’ve only seen the movie once. I bought the DVD for $3 from Target on Black Friday, but I don’t think I’ve even taken it out of the packaging. 8D

Over the Hedge is one of those Dreamworks films that I don’t consider one of their best or worst. It’s good enough. I was about to say that I don’t own that one on DVD, but I checked and I do. How sad!

I watched Moneyball yesterday and it was satisfying, though not overly so. Just good. Not great. But I basically expected that.

Who likes anime films like Ponyo or Spirited Away?

I’m not a Ponyo fan. It seems a little tired, like after all of Myazaki’s originality he just adapts a fairy tale? Not to mention there are some plot holes and confusing scenes that are just passed off with the “it’s for kids” excuse. The animation’s stellar, but come on, when isn’t it?

I haven’t seen Spirited Away, but I really want to. I just can’t find an English copy anywhere.

I was able to go to an old-fashioned Roman theatre to see The Artist Wednesday. I don’t wish to sound like a broken record, but to put it shortly, it was incredible. I found myself being able to ignore the fact I was sitting in a theatre, and I was well hooked up in the story. The metaphors and direction decisions are simply brilliant. Yes, I’m a fan of silent films so I didn’t have a problem with it, but this is not a good silent film. It’s a good film in general. Everything about it is fantastic, from the performances to the score, and everything in between. And the final line was a monumental moment that left chills down my spine. It definitely deserves to win Best Picture tonight.

The Muppets (2011): Finally saw this last night! Although I’m only barely familiar with The Muppets admittedly (and I don’t recall ever watching any past Muppets movies), I liked it quite a bit. It’s one of those movies that just makes you feel really good inside. xD It was hard not to grin hard at parts. Very enjoyable and deserving of its high praise. I probably would’ve been more emotionally attached to it if I was more familiar with the franchise itself, but it’s a fantastic standalone movie anyway. 9/10

Oh, I do hope you see it someday! It’s wonderful. Could you watch the Japanese dub with English subtitles?

I’m also glad to hear that you enjoyed The Artist. I would count that as one of my favorite films of the year, alongside Poetry, Hugo, The Interrupters, Midnight in Paris, and Take Shelter.

I don’t ever want to watch the Titanic movie. I know what happened to the real Titanic, so why would I want to see a movie when I know that the ending is probably going to be sad?

I love Ghibli anime films!!! However, Ponyo is a less favorite for me.

Never heard of them.

You must see Spirited Away ASAP!!! Ponyo not so much, though.
