I went to the library yesterday and rented all 3 parts of Back to the Future!
evspixarfan2012, nice list!
Also Ballboi, I’m glad you enjoyed Pacific Rim
One of my favorite movies this year!
I’ve recently seen a few movies:
The Sixth Sense (1999): What a great movie!! I’m surprised it took me so long to finally see it. Even a week after watching I was still thinking so much about it. I think that’s how you know a movie is truly good.
Thor 2 (2013): I was pleasantly surprised by how excellent of a sequel this is. I decently enjoyed the first, but this is miles more entertaining—better action sequences, characters are more fleshed out, and quite a few funny moments.
What I meant to say was this:
Apparently, I have no specific reason for being attracted to Sci-Fi.
I just finished watching Tron and I loved it! Now I really need a copy of my own… (I am referring to the original)
Darn! I just went to the stores today, and I got:
(1) The Wizard of Oz (75th Anniversary Edition single-disc DVD)
(2) Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas Special (Single-disc DVD + Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital Copy Combo Pack)
(3) Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted (Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital Copy Combo Pack)
(4) Illumination 7 Mini-Movie Pack [Despicable Me] [Hop] [Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax] (Single-Disc DVD)
(5) The Goonies (Single-disc DVD)
And I did find a DVD copy of the Back to the Future trilogy set, but I could not find a copy of TRON: The Original Classic anywhere! And…I can’t find a copy of The Black Hole! (In fact, I’ve been wanting to check out The Black Hole since one of my eBay searches for Disneyana stuff!)
Some other titles I might get this season (or for my birthday):
(1) Epic
(2) The Croods
(3) Planes
(4) Life of Pi (one of the very few PG-rated films to ever win Best Picture)
I’m hoping to buy Mary Poppins and The Jungle Book when they’re released on Blu-Ray next year. ![]()
Life of Pi didn’t win Best Picture, evspixarfan2012.
Even so, that fact isn’t technically accurate since the PG rating didn’t exist during most of the Academy Awards’ history. It’s arguably, though.
Nominations it is, then.
Oh, I am so gonna upgrade Mary Poppins and The Jungle Book when they come out!
In fact, I found some other upgrades at Target, and I am also looking to get the 4-movie pack of Herbie.
However, I also want to check out some Studio Ghibli films, too.
I am also looking to get myself a copy of The Brave Little Toaster for only $5 at Wal-Mart.
Saw Catching Fire on Monday and I have to say it’s a very worth follow-up
been a few years since I last read the books, but it was a good adaptation I can tell you!!
I do not want to watch Hunger Games because it’s rated PG-13 for some violence.
Your profile says you’re 18. Is that true?
Yes…but I am a bit sensitive to such content.
Oh. I always had the distinct belief that you were younger.
Are you just saying that because of the film titles you see on my posts here?
No, it would be silly to guess who you are just by the films you watch! ![]()
It’s just little details, but I guess I was wrong!
Uh, what is that supposed to mean?
That any kind of person can watch any kind of films, so it would be impossible to judge someone because of that alone.
Perhaps we should get back on topic?
Oh, I so want to check out The Black Hole. Just looked at the Disney Store a while ago and found it there. Also really need to get me a copy of TRON: The Original Classic–I really liked it! Also found it at Disney Store.
Go Sci-Fi! ![]()
I’m 20 and I hesitate to watch PG-13 movies unless I know more of what to expect. There are even some PG movies that scare me, but mainly because of a specific phobia.
Is your phobia related to something within the content? Because I have noticed some things found in PG rated films from back in the old days compared to what’s found in PG rated films today–like some of the content from the old stuff has been eliminated from today’s stuff.
