Movies - both new and old

Well, if it’s a good story (though I highly doubt a third sequel has high potential for that), then I wouldn’t mind if they earn a hundred millions more than The Dark Knight. Besides, I would love to see Sparrow in action again.

To my knowledge, Johnny said he would return “if they have a good script”. And seeing as how Johnny has been in some good movies, it might be good.

it would need to have as good a storyline as TS3

I’m looking forward to watch the City of Ember. It looks like a real facinating movie. Kinda like a National Treasure feeling when I saw the trailer to this.

I am also excited to watch “The Express” because I love football and I love football movies.

just saw The Princess Bride…ahh…i love that movie.

Great actions and loads of dry humor.

And Wallace Shawn, who played both Rex and Mr. Huph.

yes…he’s the guy who drinks the poison.
HAHAHAAAA…plop!

Ahh…that movie is great.

I agree. It is a classic.

What do y’all think about ‘W.’? I may see it this weekend, but I want to hear your thoughts.

Films I’m looking forward to:

Newt
Up
Seven Pounds
Soul Men
Rachel Getting Married
Max Payne

Personally, as a guy who is appalled by George’s barbaric actions against the Iraqis, I feel that a comedy mockumentary’s going too easy for a punishment dealt towards that cracked, whacked up self-proclaimed president. Eh, I might go and watch it to grab some laughs, maybe.

I think it should be released after the election. But that’s just me.

I don’t know why but I couldn’t stop laughing this one line from the movie:

“Look! It’s the cliffs of insanity!”

I think it was the way he said it or something.

Ha…that is pretty good.

I can see how it could be funny.

I like the fight scene when both guys change hands.

You guys i watched The Dark Knight ! I have one thing to say “Woow !”.
This film is just amazing, i mean it’s like 2hours and 30minutes long but you can’t get enough of it !
When i first saw that it was so long i thought that it was gonna be long and a little boring at the end, but that’s totally not true ! :astonished:
My favorite character is the Joker ! You all know why… :stuck_out_tongue:
Heath Ledger is a great actor, it’s sad that he killed himself not so long ago after the film came out… :frowning:

But still, i really enjoyed it ! Thanks guys for telling me to go and see it, i didn’t regret !

Yeah, I’ll bet the The Dark Knight has left some significant impact on every individual audience, even those who don’t really have the appreciation for films generally, which is where the rumors, especially with Ledger’s death, came in, telling stories of a dark curse stepping in (I even made one myself claiming that the director, whose name I couldn’t quite catch, made a pact with the Devil). This was further contributed by the other events occurring, such as Bale’s fight with his family, Freeman’s car accident and the death of that special effects crew member.

Fortunately, as of the last one I mentioned, I haven’t heard any other incident from the production crew since.

Wow, i didn’t know all that…
It was sorta a “to good to be true” film, like it couldn’t happen without something bad in their way.

To be on the logic side of things, I would think that it’s all just coincidences and a really sad tragedy with Ledger. Otherwise, if you want to go conspiracy-wise, there is always the possibility of someone desiring for the film series to end… o_0

Didn’t think of that either ! :stuck_out_tongue:

I caught two movies at cinemas within ‘one day’ this weekend, a record for me I guess. The first is Max Payne at 9 pm, Friday. Mark Wahlberg turned in a decent performance as a hard-boiled detective. Olga Kurylenko from the upcoming Quantum of Solace surprised me with a cameo as a seducer who [spoil]winds up dead within the first half hour.[/spoil] Lots of CGI effects with explosions, gunfights and weird winged angels/demons. My friends were disappointed that ‘bullet time’ was not featured, only slow-motion (which are two different things!). I thought it was like Hitman trying to be Sin City, very stylistic, but ultimately slow and with a poor plot.

I next saw Burn After Reading at 2 pm the next day on my birthday with my brother. Pitt, Clooney, Malkovich and Swinton star in the latest Coen brothers’ crime caper as clueless people who meet and try to cheat, blackmail and kill each other throughout the course of the movie, without realising they’re all connected in the most weirdly possible ways. It’s that kind of dark humour with intertwining plots you’ve come to expect from the folks who brought you Fargo and No Country for Old Men. I thought Pitt’s character as Chad the clueless gym trainer who loves to jig to his iPod was my most favourite, followed by Malkovich’s desparately frustated ex-CIA agent, Clooney’s hypochondriac Casanova, and Swinton’s appearance-obssessed romantic. There are tons of laugh out loud moments such as Pitt’s hilarious dance moves, Malkovich’s constant swearing at incompetent colleagues, and Clooney’s ‘special project’ down in his basement.

Movies I’m really looking forward to now are Death Race and Quantum of Solace, which should satisfy my next ‘car chase fix’.
