Just have to say that PIXAR’s A Bug’s Life is currently my favorite PIXAR film and
currently my favorite non-series film (which means it’s in contention with Star
Wars, Back to the Future, and the Pirates of the
Caribbean films).
It’s just such a great film . . . with such an mature storyline:
oppression, tyrany, rebellion . . . in a world of bugs!
It really is a small story of epic
proportions!
Anyone agree/disagree?
Oh, I agree! A Bug’s Life
is probably Pixar’s most underrated film.
I’ve been watching this one a lot real recently. Great, great
movie.

I
also agree… it’s not my top favourite (I don’t chose favourites in Pixar because they’re all equally great to
me, hehe), but it definitely has one of the most powerful messages ever delivered by the studio.
I also
think that Hopper was the best villain Pixar ever made… just, wow!
"You let one ant stand up to us,
then they all might stand up! Those puny little ants outnumber us a hundred to one and if they ever figure that
out, there goes our way of life! It’s not about food, it’s about keeping those ants in line. That’s why we’re
going back!"
I know. It’s absolutely CHILLING to Watch these days. Hopper is no
stupid bug. He KNOWS that if the tide turns that’s it . . . and that’s why he’s so effective as a bad guy.
He’s not the classic Drakken (from Kim Possible*) baddie . . . this guy really knows what he’s talking
about!
*Just to let you know, I LOVE Kim Possible, and I love Drakken, but a Hopper who acted anything
LIKE Drakken would have been horrid!

haha - I
think we’re gonna get along just fine.
She’s my second favorite red head right after Glory Days
Elastigirl.
yeah,
Kim’s currently my fifth Favorite show of all time!

Hahaha! Dr. Drakken’s my favourite Kim Possible character!
Funny that he was brought up. But yeh, I’m those are two distinct villains, hehe.
I love A Bug’s
Life XD “Why didn’t we think of that before? OH. It’s SUICIDE.”
I
absolutely love A Bug’s Life, it really is under-rated, but it’s an amazing movie
on so many levels. The animation is superb, the script is clever, the message is important… The only problem
is, I find I can’t eat anything when I’m watching it. Watching bugs and eating simultaneously do not go well
in my nauseous little mind!
I read on Pixar’s site that A Bug’s Life
was inspired by the old fable The Ant and The Grasshopper. When I last watched it, I noticed little references
like Hopper’s line, ‘Have you been playing all summer?’, but it never clicked in my mind that that’s what the
story is based on. Did anyone else catch any references to the old story? (Apart from the food-gathering,
obviously!)
I always found it amazing how so many
reviews have branded A Bug’s Life as ‘Pixar’s worst film- EVER’. I think it was overshadowed slightly by
Antz, its unexpected rival, and as Antz really was a very good film, a lot of people preferred it to A Bug’s
Life. Now, some people end up saying how rubbish it is without having seen it! It’s got a terrible
reputation.
Doesn’t stop it from being a great film, though.

Yeh… but
man, if somebody asked me what I thought was the worst Pixar film made, I wouldn’t be able to answer them…
you can’t put “worst” and “Pixar” together in one sentence… you just can’t.
Hehe.
I’ve seen Antz once, a long time ago, but I remember it being more serious I think. It was
definitely less colourful, and the variety of characters wasn’t as much as A Bug’s Life… of course, because
the latter has to do with more bugs than just ants, hehe. I liked A Bug’s Life’s message a lot more, though…
not saying that Antz was horrible, but it’s forgettable compared to the Pixar film IMO.
Antz
was a good film, I think, just not very…varied. It definitely had its moments, but you’re right- it WAS more
serious, containing some bloody battle scenes and the death of quite a few main characters in detail. A Bug’s
Life was light-hearted compared to Antz, but as both were released at nearly the same time, Antz still ended up
being a rival. I, personally, preferred the main character in Antz- Z- and that’s it. It isn’t better in any
other way.
I never saw Antz . . . it just didn’t attract me in the previews and stuff. No . . . A Bug’s Life is the
life for me!!
I think they also consider this film bad because it recieved the lowest Box Office PIXAR has
recieved to date . . . still a Box Office hit, but it is the lowest of the seven . . .
I saw Antz but I don’t remember anything about it at all - which I guess speaks
for itself!
It’s so true that this movie is under-rated. A few years ago, I watch it and I didn’t
remember perfectly how it was. But when it ended, I couldn’t believe this was the so-called "worse Pixar
movie".
This is my all-time favorite Pixar movie, and it’ll never
change. I love all the characters and everything about the movie. I hate it how it’s considered the worst,
especially since Antz is VERY adult-like, and some parts not suitable for children, in my opinion. A Bug’s Life,
contrary to my first opinion about it when I first saw it (simply 'cause I was a weird child and my brother was
obsessive about ABL toys and real bugs in general) I saw it again over two years ago, and I found my first
brainless opinion to be far from the truth. It’s one of the best, and it deserves more recognition.
Yes a Bug’s Life does need more recognition. It’s always left out. People usually talk about Toy Story
as it is the first then go on to the recent ones like Nemo and The Incredibles. Poor A Bug’s Life. Such a great
film.

Pixar is the worst studio at making
bad movies.
Impressive Dash . . . most impressive . . .
