I’m gonna watch more of this today.
And yes, the points you brought up, nintendofreakgcn, are great, I agree with them. Especially Pinkie Pie being a self-parody. 
I like all the characters. I sort of have a little gripe with Apple Jack, though. I can’t stand hard-core Southern accents. 
I love her anyway, though.

I think her southern accent is simply hilarious, especially when ‘chipmunked’ like in Bridle Gossip when the Poisoned Joke played a joke on her and she was suddenly supersmall.

Quickie:
A thread on a forum started discussing about what a nice pet for Dash would be, because all the main characters seem to have one except her. The idea of a crow was widely supported and I just happen to love doodling birds… Ponies, on the other hand, aren’t my best quality, so I guess this was a learning opportunity. 
I simply can’t imagine why or how some people like Southern accents. I find them a mixture of irritating and depressing.

I think it’s hilarious because the combination of replacing words like ‘everyone, someone or anyone’ with ‘everypony, somepony and anypony’, the high class voice acting and the funny remarks she makes… the accent adds to the hilarity of that.
I cannot imagine Applejack doing what she does without having a thick ‘southern’ accent. 
It also gives her some actual personality (something the 80s ponies were lacking).

I think overall it is better for the show. But on a selfish note, I just get tired of being surrounded by the accents all the time, and I watch TV/movies to get away from Tennessee for a few minutes. I love the show, and I’m working past the accent, but for the time being, the accent annoys me tremendously.
Well I quite like AJ’s accent but I kind of get how you feel about the being ‘surrounded’ by accents thing.
I don’t notice it most of the time (except say in recordings, besides I have the accent too though listening to our local news sometimes made me literally lol in the past) but now and again I run into someone with a really thick “Norn Irish” (say ‘Northern Irish’ like that instead of sounding out the whole syllables and congrats you can mimic our stereotypical accent with those two words at least… somewhat) and I kind of internally cringe when the very strongest of accents comes from someone. Plus there’s this nice girl from the Republic of Ireland at my uni but her voice is a bit grating at the same time. It’s a combination of her accent plus the tone of her voice (it goes up and down in pitch with each syllable it seems). It’s not the nicest combination in terms of voices because of it. It makes me feel a bit mean to say but it’s kind of annoying too.
She’s really nice though so I really feel a bit cruel for thinking it but I can’t help it!

As for pets for RD I admit that a bird does seem to be the most logical choice for her but it would have to be something low maintenance whatever it would be, I don’t see her having the patience otherwise.
I see what you mean. Some people’s voices are annoying, too. I just can not tolerate stereotypical Southern accents. It’s not because it’s a stereo type; it’s because it is how they really sound. 
And they’re everywhere!! I’m surrounded by hicks. I hate the accent. I despise it.
I’m surrounded by southern accents… As in Southern Dutch. But if I see a show that mildly mocks it I can laugh about it. I don’t think every ‘southerner’ would like to be associated with Applejack, but it’s a funny take on the stereotype.

Guys? I think I’m getting into this show more than I’m into Pixar. Then again, while Cars 2 doesn’t come out until summer, I’m actually watching the episodes for Season 1 on time. 
It’s nice to have two things I love in the same place, so thanks for keeping this thread alive. The chan-members are cool, but they’re just not the same as you.

I wouldn’t worry about loving this show more, it’s pretty great though admittaedly the fact a My Little Pony show is actually good is a part of the amazement and the appeal to boot. Though of course it’s more or less great fun and writing most of the time too.

I’ve read this topic for a while, and overall got quite curious. So I decided to watch the first episode of this today, and it’s actually not that bad! When I get the time I might watch more.
I hope you do K9 , the first episode has been done to death on this thread, but trust us when we say it gets much better.
I’ve already seen the vid mentalguru, but it’s worth a re-watch. Very cute, and the guy who edited it did a fantastic job. 
Has anypony heard of the “Eurobrony Beats” going around on Youtube? They’re basically remixes of all the best songs from the show, only lacking dialogue and sped up to a rocking techno tune. I usually don’t like stuff like this (outside of Daft Punk and Pogo), but they’re currently occupying my iPod on my walks to school (whilst not letting anybody know what I’m listening too obviously). 
Yeah, I’ve watched a few more episodes…it’s really not that bad. Much, much, better than some other shows that are out there.
Alright I’m gonna look it up as soon as I have time now, mostly because I’ve run out of Donkey Kong Country episodes to watch and YouTube Poops are getting repetitive… If I start collecting those MLPs again it’s all your fault, 'k?
