OK, so even though I took some spanish classes in Freshman and Sophmore year, I still can not understand what Spanish Buzz is saying. He speaks way too fast and way to heavy for me to comprehend. It’s like trying to understand Speedy Gonzales on too much caffeine.
Ok, so maybe it’s not that bad, but I still have no idea what he’s saying. So, is there anyone here who can do an accurate translation for Spanish Buzz?
I believe he’s speaking a different kind of Spanish, one I’m not really use to. I don’t understand much.
I think around 0:21(someone correct me if I’m wrong), when he holds Jessie’s hand he says “My beautiful desert flower.” Keep in mind that I think that’s what he says, I don’t actually know. It also sounds like they cut him off a bit.
Whether I’m right or not, one thing is for sure. This part in the movie is going to be highly amusing.
Actually, that would make a lot more sense, but I didn’t hear “flor” or “bonita” in there… my mother couldn’t even tell, and Spanish is her native language.
In the O.V movie Buzz speak spanish from Spain, which is diferent from Latin American Spanish. The narrator in the spot is Latino, but Buzz is European (spanish).
Narrator: “This Summer Buzz returns, new, improved and in Spanish”,
Buzz: “I just woke up from hypersleep in a strange planet”
Buzz: “Friend or foe?”
Woody: "Friend! [here I´m doubting if he says in englih: We´re all Amigos or, in spanish: Solo amigos (only friends!)]
You know, if Buzz only says “My little desert flower” in Spanish I kind of think that maybe they really have been building up a pairing between him and Jessie but they’re just trying to disguise it in the Spanish language with Buzz not acting like himself to leave the audience guessing (but then maybe surprise us with something at the end when he gets back to normal).
I have a friend my age that takes Spanish class and I showed this clip to her and she said that she understood some of it. Unfortunately, she had to go before she could tell me what Buzz was saying. Although, I’m going to her house on Tuesday, so maybe she can tell me then.
