New Pixar movie for 2009?

I just found this at Box Office

Mojo:

boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=up.htm

Huh, I think your on to something thre,

Bill.

“Up” seems to be it’s name. Kinda interestin’. I wonder

what it’s about? Notice it said “Computer Animation”, so this isn’t one of their upcoming Live-action

films.

Thanks for sharin’!

Is it a rumor or is it a true statement that

“UP” will come after WALE?

Heh

– interesting. Thank you for the information, Bill and

ROBONICS95!

Just curious, but didn’t we hear a rumor about this proposed

“Up” film some months back? I seem to recall hearing something about it a long time ago…

Mitch - Hmmm, that’s interesting. I guess we can

now say that Up is a actual film by Pixar. And this confirms the long standing

rumor about a 2009 Pixar project. Actually, when I saw that on
Box Office Mojo,

the first thing I thought was “That is the strangest title I’ve ever seen”.

This awesome

news!
jvpixarnews.blogspot.com/2007/06 … -2009.html

Ooh, thanks ROBONICS!

Dude, who’s going to guess what it’s going to be?

Gasduude - With a title like Up, god only knows,

hehe.

Ha! That made me laugh!

But your right…the only thing it excludes is Down. :stuck_out_tongue:

Could “UP”

secretly stand for “untitled project”?

~~=oP

PV - Maybe, but I don’t

think so.

Ooh, this has got me very curious indeed…
For some reason I love the title already,

even though it’s probably just a working title or something like PV

said.

This

would have to be the most incredibly vague title. Could be about birds, space, anything! What do you commonly

associate with the word “up”.

balloons was my first thought…

Anyway, I

can’t wait to find out what it’s about! After WALL.E which was a pretty unexpected premise, the film could be

about anything!

But it makes wonder if “UP” is an acronym, because it would be weird to have

another acronym after WALL.E, and why isn’t it spelled “Up!” or “Up”? Maybe it does stand

for Untitled Project after all…

Oh so many questions! I hope the story is very creative and interesting.

I’m so excited!

Hmm, this is

interesting…

I was just thinking about the title of all of the Pixar films recently, and realising just

what giveaways they’ve been. I mean, Toy Story- it’s about toys. A Bug’s Life- about bugs. Cars- about cars.

Monsters, Inc.- about monsters!

The only slightly vague ones so far are Finding Nemo and The Incredibles,

so aside from those two, the very basic theme of the Pixar films can be figured out just by knowing their title.

So, whether this film is officially called Up, or if this stands for something else, we’ll just have to wait and

see. Besides, Pixar does seem to be moving on from that obvious trend with their newest films, Ratatouille and

Wall-E, since the titles of these two don’t give much away.

shrugs Meh, just speculating.

Airplane?

lizardgirl - Hmm – interesting points! I never noticed the whole deal with the

titles before until you pointed it out. Very interesting, indeed…

Also take into account that, besides

WALL-E, “Up” seems to be the most unusual name out of all the Pixar film

titles yet. Titles such as The Incredibles and

Ratatouille do, at least, sort of hint at the basic premise of their film

counterparts, but “Up” doesn’t really symbolize any one aspect in general. It could be anything…

Airplane?

Exactly. My mom predicted this. I

wonder if it’s true? :stuck_out_tongue:

Awesome news guys!!!

lizardgirl – Your right. And, reading into things,

The Incredibles and Finding Nemo were two of Pixar’s

top grossing films. “Up” could keep that trend going! :stuck_out_tongue:
