New Year!

It’s New Year’s Eve in a few days, so what are you guys planning to do? Any good New Year’s TV you’re going to watch, or are you going to go out and celebrate? Fireworks, anyone?

My family started a tradition a few years ago where we go bowling on New Year’s Eve and then we all gather at my aunt and uncle’s house to continue the celebration.

What are planning to do, lizardgirl?

That sounds like good fun, Hannahmation! Bowling’s great, especially when you play with your family.

I think I’m going to a friend’s house for a party there. It’s the last year our group of friends are going to be together, as such, because we’re all either off to university or off travelling, so this one should be quite special.

Indeed it is!

Sounds like you’ll have a good time as well, lizardgirl! Occasions like that are always fun and special. And the memories stick with you forever!

I don’t think we’ll be doing much besides eating. I’m up every night until 3 am as it is; trying to change that …

don’t know as of yet

I plan on doing what I always do. It’s the one time during the year that I’m guaranteed that everyone will be out of the house. So I have my annual movie marathon (Breaking for the Times Square thingy of couse) where I usually stay up as long as possible, usually till at least 4AM.

I’m gonna go to my mom’s friend’s house. I’m gonna get so druck (off of apple cider.)

Haha, we practically missed the countdown! We were all on my friend’s computer, then someone switched on the TV and went, ‘eep, it’s ten seconds to 2009!’ We all ran around like headless chickens, trying to open the champagne bottle and get our drinks ready before the countdown ended, but we were too slow.

Well, I spent my New years Eve/day at home with some of me and my older sibling’s mates playing video games until the fireworks, then continued playing games then watch a movie (Iron Man) until most people fell asleep. I didn’t. Me and a friend of mine stayed awake until about 10am. We basically ‘won’ new years, if that makes any sense.

Happy New Year to Aussie and Malaysian Planeteers! And a Happy Future New Year to Planeteers in other countries!

Didn’t do much on the last day of the decade, had a nice Sushi lunch with the whole family, then whiled away the afternoon watching Apple trailers and reading The Great Cow Race in the Bone saga. Then we had a simple dinner at a favourite coffee shop before staying in to watch the New Year festivities at the Marina on TV (my folks were too tired to take us there, and the crowds would be insane!). Sing never fails to pull out a showstopper, and this year was no exception. I always spot a new ‘type’ of fireworks every year, and there were cool performances by local and foreign celebrities.

I’m interested to hear how you all are spending your final day of '09, as we leave the ‘Noughties’ and approach the ‘Tens’ together…

Happy new year+decade guys! So what is your resolution for this year?

Happy New Year to all the members of Pixar Planet…as for my family and I, just spending the day celebrating my little brother’s birthday since he is turning twelve today.

Happy new year people! 8D

Just finished 3.something hours of Lord of the Rings (you can watch Dinner for One only so many times, despite it being a long-running TV tradition here in Germany  ).

80 minutes to go in my timezone…

There was an ambulance in front of our house and there were no others houses across the street. Maybe someone got hurt bad… Hope whoever got hurt will be okay soon.

We did nothing special. Me and my family spent the time watching all three Ice Age movies and afterwards I played my The Princess And The Frog Soundtrack and did a little karaoke concert by singing along.

So, Happy New Year/Decade

thedriveintheatre: You’re reading Bone? Yay! Have you read all of the books yet, 'cause, trust me, it gets a lot better in near the end!

Princess_Darkness: You’ve a very lucky brother! He gets to spend his birthday staying up 'til midnight, now I think that’s pretty cool! :sunglasses:

Witch_of_Night: I hope nobody got hurt, either. A karaoke concert? Nice.

Happy New Years/Decade, to those who are in different time zones than mine.

New Year’s hasn’t come around here yet, there’s still about 8 hours left to go 'til midnight. I’m going to be staying at my mom’s condo tonight, and I’m gonna be watching some movies, and playing some video games with my brother 'til who knows when! All well, at least there’s two extra nights left, to catch up on some sleep. :stuck_out_tongue:

Fffff somebody talking about Bone and I didn’t even notice? Oh, some fan I am. Yes, it does get better near the end.

Anyway happy new year peoples. Is it new year to you too guys? For me it is. For about… eleven hours?

I don’t feel so good, I think I’m going to throw up the whole time. I’ve eaten too much oliebollen. (Dutch food which is practically fried dough with raisins and with sugar on it) I hope you guys weren’t as greedy concerning food.

Hope every one had a good new year, I just had a few friends over and over indulged with a few too many drinks. I’m feeling it this morning though

My cousins visited for most of the day, then I went to watch Alvin and the Chipmunks Squeakuel with my sunday school class. Then we played Apples to Apples and talked. The only thing I remember talking about was someone buying just one sock. I didn’t eat too much food, so I didn’t get sick (yay!)
