Night at the Museum

FONY - Haha – that part had me laughing so hard.

I love that one

line that Ben Stiller says:

[spoil]There’s a storm comin’, buddy. There’s a storm

comin’.[/spoil]

:stuck_out_tongue:

I just got back from seeing the movie, and I have to say I enjoyed it a great deal. Very, very fun film. I

didn’t feel as though Larry’s home life was developed enough, especially for something that was such a driving

force in the film, but at least the part about his relationship with his son was done

pretty well… You could kinda tell that they really just needed an excuse to give

him motivation, though.

A lot of the plot was really far-fetched [spoil]even beyond the whole

stuff-coming-to-life thing, I’m talking about the old nightguards and stuff[/spoil]

but while

it kinda surprised me at first, you really just have to smile and laugh and go along with the absurdity, even the

few parts that are so absurd that they don’t seem to fit in with the rest of the movie. [spoil]The

whole tablet thing seemed a little… off, too. It was never really explained. But oh well, that’s just

another part that you’ve got to just grin and bear.[/spoil]

I know I’ve mainly been pointing

out aspects that are more of flaws, but don’t get me wrong, I absolutely loved it, and highly recommend it to

everyone. I, too, absolutely loved Owen Wilson’s character; definitely something of a bias in there, but I

think I would have loved Jed and Octavius even if I hadn’t know who Owen was beforehand. I was disappointed and

a bit surprised that they didn’t include his name in the opening credits, though, especially since he really did

have a pretty big (no pun intended) part. I loved that part, too, FONY; although, how on earth does a cowboy,

and a not-real-one at that, know how to do that?

Yeah, sometimes the movies are better when you don’t know or seen the past films of

some actors … like Steve Coogan- I watched two of his series and (I think) three of his films beforehand …

not much but he does play some weird sorts. Luckily this character Octavius was on a much more likable/lovable

side … and he did such a great job that his other characters never came into mind.

Anyways I loved the

caveman scenes, especially [spoil]the scenes with the fire extinguisher

[/spoil]

And, DELF- [spoil]The thing with the remote

control car was sorta unrealistic, seeing as you need the remote to control it, but aside from that it was

believable. Actually, maybe the tablet made it ‘come to life’. I also loved their scene where they were walking

in slow-mo when they arrived back at the museum. [/spoil]

How many parts of the museum are there actually?

Loved this movie!!! It was had a great cast.

Here’s my favorite line: This one looks like a weirdie!

I was suprised when I found out how old

Mickey Rooney is.

Star Swordsman- I’ve

been there before a zillion times- the film exaggerated everything and made me wish they had what was in the

film. Although, they did leave out a lot.
There’s a big dinosaur exhibit with loads of prehistoric critters

and stuff.
And there’s an African mammals exhibit, all behind glass though (no way they’d ever keep the lion

figures out in the open- people are destructive)
Before you go into the ocean exhibit (which had loads of

seals and fishes and stuff, not just the whale) there’s a small area with lots of little animals on display, and

hanging from the ceiling …
I’m an animal lover and I don’t think it’s ‘cool’ that the animals were once

alive- but put it this way, they live forever ^^;
And … they had something with loads of different birds

species … and something tribal but I forgot what it was- one of those feature things.
I can’t recall they

had anything egyptian there- one place with cowboys and indians I think …
I didn’t go there last time

'cause I had a class, but they had a place with all monkeys too.

Whoa … didn’t mean to post so much

I’ve uncovered my photos of the museum- I’m thinking of posting some later possibly …

For a minte, I thought the museum was just a hollywood set though. I have had no idea

that it was a really museum.

The museum in the movie was just a set

recreation of the museum, though changed in many places. The actual Natural History Museum didn’t allow them to

shoot the film on location and considering all the mayhem, it’s understandable.

I see. Plus, if the movie was really shot in the real

museum, then there could be a big chance that something there could be damaged.

Heck yes. There’s lots of glass and it gets crowded

easily. Plus, if they damaged something there’s really no amount of money that could replace an ancient

artifact. =P Not that they have anything too ancient there, at least none I can

recall besides the dinosaur bones.

Oh! There’s the primative section too, with the cavemen. I dunno how I

forgot it- my brother couldn’t stop laughing insanely from all the nudies. :unamused:

Anyway

Here’s some pics!! I decided to upload them after finding one of the totem figure- the Eastern Island

head. Voiced by the amazing Brad Garrett!

xD

[spoil]No! You Dum-dum! You bring me

gum-gum?[/spoil]

[/img] Always cool to see, and my personal fave.

Elephants! This would’ve been worse if I used flash- it was insanely dark there- too dark for my camera to see

much at least … sorry for the horrible quality

=P

Nothin’

special, just a lion … but I loveth lions. x3

Nice pictures, FONY! I love

the lions…

Fairly Odd New Yorker - Yes, grat job with choosing the pictures.

Where is

this museum located?

In Manhattan in New York City …

79th street and Central Park west, to be exact. ^^

I saw this movie right on X-Mas day 2006. It was quite good, I

enjoyed it. Ben Stiller had a great performance in this movie.
This is something quite different to see and

had many world people in the production.
Night at The Museum has alot of in -

depth history to it. No s
poiling of it, or how it goes from me. So anyone else on PP who has not seen it yet

must do so A-Sap

And the box office relsults are through the roof!!!

Take my advice, and go see this movie if you haven’t already. You won’t be dissapointed!

My friends were talking anbout it.I told them I only waned to see cause Owen Wilson was in it.

:unamused: Every since the whole L McQueen thing I’ve been crazy about O.W. :unamused:

same here!

Personally, I love it when owen

wilson plays as a cowboy.

[b]The

Star Swordsman[/b] - You can say that again. He was absolutely perfect for the role in

Night at the Museum. The nice thing to know is that I would have liked him even if I

didn’t know he played Lightning McQueen.
