NoToyStory3.org- Wait, What?

This site makes no sense. So according to this site Toy Story 3 should not win Best Picture because their employers at the Disneyland Hotel screwed them over. Wait, what? I can’t vouch for Disneyland Hotels but how exactly does No Best Picture for Toy Story= Better Wages for them? And in addition it seems like they actually liked the film, after referencing it so many times. I mean I feel sorry for them but don’t take it out on PIXAR just for spite!

Wow. While I’m not exactly rooting for TS3 to win, this is kind of random. I really feel bad for these people, but Disney’s candidate is Tangled. Toy Story 3 is kind of irrelevant to their problem.

I agree entirely, I mean these people probably deserve some recognition, but their message is confusing. Isn’t it hypocritical to ask the Academy to follow their concience, if their concience would tell them to vote for the most deserving winner and not listen to what people tell them to do (Whether it’s Toy Story 3 or not)? Besides, I don’t think Toy Story 3 is going to win for Best Picture anyways, so I hope there isn’t a follow-up video proclaiming that the Academy actually listened to them…That’s a very sad thought.

TS3 wasn’t even nominated for BP, though it was for best animated feature. They should get their facts straight. :unamused:

Though I definitely see where they are coming from, this is a pretty lame way to handle the situation. First of all, the parks and entertainment divisions of Disney are totally unrelated. Second, Toy Story 3 not being nominated will get them nothing. Either way, Disney gains or loses very little besides what it took to push the Oscar campaign. If it’s not nominated, the blame will be placed on the voters, not on this campaign. By encouraging not voting for it, though, these guys are pretty much degrading the hard work that Pixar’s own crew did, which is hypocritical in its own right. Overall, this is just a bad way to go about reaching their goal.

I agree entirely. I think, personally, that they are being very immature.

It’s just too funny watching this video. These people are blaming Lee Unkrich and Toy Story 3 for Disney changing their health care plan?? Really?

I know, right?

I think the worst part about this is that needlessly blaming Toy Story 3 and PIXAR really devalues their protest. I do feel sorry and think their claims for free health care are valid, but by blasting Toy Story 3 it really removes the sympathy I had for them. They could have easily equated their hardship to the film too, but they just attack it for bl reason.

I know! That was one of the most pathetic videos I’ve ever seen. 8D I’m still laughing.

Just, why?? Why take it out on TS3??? sigh Take it out on Tangled if anything

Looks like they’ve pretty much got the message that needs to be said on YouTube. Blaming someone who’s not responsible for your problems isn’t going to help. Leave Toy Story 3 out of it, and you’ll definately get more support. Otherwise, I’ll definately call them out on spreading outright lies.

This makes no sense at all. :unamused:

Wow, they ahve way too much time on their hands.

Exactly!!! :unamused:

What the heck? This is just stupid!

I dont think someone is gonna take them seriusly :unamused:

I’d have to look more into it, though I somehow doubt TS3 is to CAUSE for it (it seems terribly unlikely somehow…), they’re attempting to make a statement here I believe and to draw attention at the very least to their cause. This is os maybe partially the point to it possibly actually- it’s to show they have sway and power or so they hope. But the main aim? Publicity. They’re unlikely to win- but this means people hear about them. Pixar has huge publicity and is well known, and it’s outstripping even the mother company itself in terms of publicity in many sectors. It’s a way to make their employers sit up and notice. Or so they hope.

In all honesty better care for workers does > whether TS3 gets a nomination/ award. If we had to choose in some strange universe, I’m sure we’d all choose care for workers over that, even those who think TS3 is the most amazing picture in the world. Of course this is a strange way to go about it, and unlikely to work for them so that point is probably moot. I mean would it even affect their profits? I’m not sure- but I think they mean to say that people shouldn’t support people who treat their workers so terribly, sure different divisions and all that- but this is the best way to get publicity, because many watch the awards and love Pixar.

Disney honestly treats it’s theme park workers TERRIBLY from what I hear. And if you work for their theme parks be prepared for low wages and terrible work conditions. Yet despite the way they treat their workers Disney continues to go on their merry way. There are horror stories like them not calling ambulances in because they didn’t want to ‘upset’ visitors for instance and other horrifying stories which are too bad for young people to hear. It’s a part of their POLICY. They pretend everything is perfect for visitors but it is not. I really just found this out recently myself, or else I would have seriously considered not going this summer to the one in California I went to. I don’t think I can ever go to one again either. Until they get better. Though I still continue to buy movies, though I guess I should really debate whether I still should do so or not seriously because could that be considered hypocritical?

But never a theme park again until they actually get a clue anyway.

The thing is, would many of you have heard of this if it hadn’t for them targeting the awards or TS3? I somehow doubt that. Heck I only found out recently entirely accidentally.

That’s the whole point of this really I believe.

Somehow doubt it will work but it’s their best shot as it were- targeting TS3 would get more publicity than say Tangled etc even if it is lauded too.

EDIT: I must also state that I still think that TS3 should have a fair shot at the awards, but if Pixar reacts to this at all it should be in a way of understanding and sympathy to them. And even though they wouldn’t support this particular campaign against TS3, show support with regards their work conditions in some form. It’s unlikely to work in any case or have an effect on their chance at winning but the fact is, it’s pretty obvious that their situation is more important than an award.

If their respond was 'Yaaaarrr crush ‘em’ I’d be very disappointed in them.

The most likely response they’ll have will probably be nothing though really anyway.

I aggree with everything you guys have already mentioned. The film produced by Pixar has no relation to what Disneyland does to their staff. I feel for their situation, but Disney screwing them over (and Yes, they are screwing them over) has nothing to do with the quality of the film.

They do have a case, but they need to find a better way to inform the public about what Disney is doing to them. Threatening a movie that has little to no relation to them is not the way to do it.

Personally I think they are being over the top. I don’t really see how it’s Pixar’s fault that something went on at Disneyland. If I was going to complain to someone I’d complain to Disney.
I really don’t get some people :stuck_out_tongue: x
