I did. I was goingto screencap it and go “my replica wont do this” because folks asked if he was jointed. He has cut joints and ankle joints. I think that was more of a “creative leeway” thing on the slink ploppin down like that. Unless his joints are connected via elastic internally, which is plausible.
So maybe [spoil] Woody hides but the girl sees him and grabs him.
Wonder when the others notice. Cuz in another trailer the others look sad without him and he doesn’t have his hat??? [/spoil]
In one clip, they show that Woody leaves the other toys due to his loyalty to Andy.
Anyways, did they take down that video of Buzz in his “space ranger” mode? I believe it was a Mission video, but the only one now just has Spanish Buzz.
Awww, that part made me tear up inside. I just love how persistent the themes of friendship and loyalty are in every single Toy Story film. I think Old Friends, New Places is my favorite featurette, it’s just so heartwarming.
I do think they took liberties with this in animation. the only reason they didn’t use his old pose here was because they wanted more contrast between the two modes to more clearly show he is “going dead” or whatever you want to call it. he was already standing up, so the audience might not have picked up on the subtle change that would occur here as easily.
[spoil]I actually cringed every time Buzz’s head came down on the pegs… and then I was like “NUUUUUUUUUUU!” when that one kids used Jessie as a paintbrush.[/spoil]
I think this is Pixar’s way of promoting birth control, to be honest.
Word of mouth, for research for the film, all of the daycare “playtime” scenes happened in real life. An animator at PIXAR actually donated some of the Toy Story toys to a local preschool and videotaped how the kids played with them. They actually had to tone it down for the film.
What’s new about this that you may have not seen is the clip at the end - there’s no sound and it’s instead dubbed over. All the voices are the same except for Mr. Pricklepants. It also gives us the first animation and voice acting of [spoil]Bonnie[/spoil].
I just remembered that I had a dream that the mutant toys were in another room in the daycare, but I got all disappointed when I found out it was a dream.
You captured my reaction exactly, PixieDust. Seeing Jessie get her hair dunked in paint was horrifying enough. I shudder to think what those kids in real life did to the toys!
In my mind, I see Buzz’s helmet cracking open, Slinky getting his slink broken…Ack, no! I can’t think about it anymore!
