For those of who you did not get the short along with Up in your local cinema, or for those who don’t want to spend the extra bucks to watch Partly Cloudy, here’s the entire thing in its original format, graciously posted up by Cartoon Brew:
I thought Partly Cloudy was absolutely glorious, much better than Lifted. Though not as good as Presto or One Man Band. I don’t get these criticism’s about the ending, what else do they wan’t for a 6 minute film? It ended perfectly.
Ok I’m a real Pixar-fan, now I have a problem: I can’t get my hands on Partly Cloudy…
Because of two reasons:
I don’t have an account on iTunes
Its US only… (I’m from Belgium)
Now is there someone who can upload the iTunes version on Rapidshare and pm me the link… Anyway I will buy the “UP” blueray-disk later on, so Partly Cloudy will be included. Now I only want the iTunes version cuz on youtube or other online videosites the quality isn’t that good…
When Partly Cloudy started at the showing, I thought it was an ad for a new Pixar film. I was thinking “Well…huh. That’s definitely different.” Then as it went on it was apparent it was a short film, and I loved it.
It also appealed to the older viewers as well, as I was chuckling right along with those viewers the whole time, which was pretty cool to see.
Can’t wait to watch it again when the DVD hits store shelves. (My laptop is too slow to watch videos, so I must leave that link unclicked.)
I think a lot of people do that. Often times when the short starts I’ll hear things like “what’s this? Is this another trailer?” or “Is this a new movie?” It takes them a minute to realize it’s a short
I think that, had I not known all that I did before I saw Up, it would’ve taken me a while to remember that Pixar did shorts. I remember for Wall-E, when the title for Presto showed up I was like: This isn’t what I payed to see! I wanted to see Wall-E, not this.
Partly Cloudy is the most adorable Pixar shorts yet.
It reminded me during my childhood much.
With the musics, the moral values, the great storyline and everything!
Currently, it’s on my ‘Most Favorite Pixar Shorts. Ever.’ lists.
Couldn’t agree more. I saw it for the first time just before Up opened (opening day) and had tears before the end of it. Then of course, there was the 15 minutes of tears at the beginning of Up (best written animated drama sequence I have ever seen). Had I have known, I would have brought Kleenex.
But seriously, Partly Cloudy delivered on reminding me of my childhood. I actually did believe that Storks delivered babies up until I was at least married. Strangely, I polled my son after the movie (he’s 8 ) and he had never heard nor believed the Stork story…
I love some of the worlds and systems that Pixar sets up, they’re so clever, like in Monsters, Inc. and this short. It’s so creative, and really cool to watch. This wasn’t my favorite short, but I’ve seen it tons of times, it’s worn out a bit on me. It’s still really great, and I LOVE the music. Mike Giacchino does it again!
I just had to say, I saw a cloud today, and it looked EXACTLY like the main cloud from Partly Cloudy. The facial expression, giant puffy nose, and shape of its head was perfect! I was ecstatic. Of course, being the cloud it was, it lasted for a total of four seconds, but it made my day.
I know this sounds extremely bizarre, but still. Wow.
Haha! Interesting development by the way, in the first 30 seconds or so, there’s a woman in a window that [spoil]receives a baby. I think it’s Ellie, she looks EXACTLY like her. It’s only for a sec, and her face is a bit obscured by a window pane, but just watch for it.[/spoil]
