Pets

Any other animal lovers here?

I have 6 cats and 2 horses. Unfortunately, I made

the discovery that I was allergic to our horses after they were given to us years ago.

As a child, I’ve

had several other cats, fish, frogs, gerbils, and hamsters, one of which gave birth to 2 batches of babies.

When it comes to pets, I’m a cat lover, but I have yet to bring home the pet I’ve always dreamed of

having…a ferret.

What kinds of pets do you guys have, if any?

~~=oP

Will you name the ferret Fluffy? You don’t have to, but I

had to ask…

I have one dog at the moment - Samantha, a sweet… well, we have no clue what she is, but

she’s a great dog, if a little too hyper at times… Over the years, I’ve had three cats, something like 5-6

dogs, and a handful of goldfish. I love my dog, but I’m more of a cat lover, too. I would love to own a cat or

two again someday. (Has anyone ever heard of a Savannah cat? That’s the kind I’d love to have.)

No, not Fluffy, but probably Draco.

And

yes! I know what Savannah cats are. Gorgeous

cats.

Back when I was an employee at PetSmart shudders, I would browse through the cat

magazines to try to rid myself of boredom. There were so many ads for Savannah cat breeders. They caught my

attention quickly. I wouldn’t mind having one.

My favorite cat breed might be Siamese. My grandmother

in Tampa has 2 of them that I can’t ever get enough playtime with.

Right now I’ve got two cats and a fish. My kitties

are darlings - Belle is a petit, whiney orange tabby who’s one of the happiest cats I’ve ever known. Nick is

huge, and is a bit anti-social at times…But when he wants to play it’s soooo cute, we chase each other all

around the house. :stuck_out_tongue: And he sleeps with me a lot too, which is nice because it reminds me of my old cat, who

died a few years ago. Still haven’t gotten over it…

Oh, and pics! Pics!

Oh yes! Here’s a picture of my Sammie Sue (I’m still surprised anyone managed to get her to

sit still long enough to take

it):

I’ve got two wonderful beagle dogs, Jenna and Shiloh. My mom refuses to let animals

in the house, but that’s part of the reason we got beagles, because they couldn’t be any happier than they are

now with their 16 acres of invisible fenced-in land. They spend the day baying at squirrels, running around with

squeaky balls (Jenna only on that one), and of course lounging around stretched out as long as possible in the

sun in the backyard. :unamused: I think my brother took some photos of them the other day when he was bored, but I

don’t believe they’ve been uploaded off of the camera or anything yet.

I’ve got a veritable ZOO at my house! A pack of Louisiana Catahoula Leopard

Dogs, a blue Pit Bull pup, a mini Dachshund, five cats, about 20 or so snakes, and around 40 tarantulas,

scorpions and other arachnids-is that enough? That doesn’t count the snake eggs and spider eggsacs that have

yet to hatch, though.

I have a 13-year-old himalayan cat

that I love very much. My sister owns a 6-year-old cat that likes to be hyper, whereas mine is getting old so he

isn’t very active as he used to be. Hehe.

I have one small maltese. It is

the cutest thing in the world.

I’ve had one Somoan Dog (Gomez), one Parrot (Sugar), a dozen or so fish (Alex

being my favorite goldfish – 3 years!), and CURRENTLY about five hermit crabs (I think one of them ate/killed

another for the shell . . . we can’t find the body.)

I’ve always wanted a cat, but my mother is not only

allergic to them, she hates them with a passion (don’t ask why . . . I let sleeping Dragons

lie).

Fortunately, I KNOW I’m not allergic, as I’m often seen playing with one of my old neighbor’s

cats, Spunky. (I get the great feeling he likes me more than some of his ACTUAL Masters!)

Meg, your cats are so cute!

Right now, we have

a yellow lab named Maggie and a Tabby named Sweetheart. She’s crippled, so she doesn’t really move around a

lot. But she’s the sweetest thing (hence the name) and I miss her so much right now!

The only pets

we’re allowed to have in the dorms are small fish - and knowing me, I’d probably forget to feed them, which we

don’t want, now do we?

My sister used to have two little gerbils, and they were cute.

I have too many pets to count. Offhand, four bulldogs

(Dottie, Maude, Buddy, and Tuffy), three chihwawahs (Mandy, Doodles, Elfkin) a pomeranian (Teddy), five cats

(Milo, Jewelie, Rusty, Angel, Hope), a snake (Kaa), a tarantula (Sylvia), a hamster (Keds), three parrots (Sweet

Pea, Luna, and Spike), about ten cockatiels (only a good few who have names) … wow … that’s much less than I

had five years ago … we got rid of most of the cats, and we don’t have chickens or rabbits anymore.

Out

of all of them, only two belong to me- Hope, the midget bombay/tiger cat, and Keds the blackbear hamster

recent addition to the family- noisy little bugger.

Right now I have a cat, Boots. He’s

special because I adopted him from the shelter after he lost his

eye.

I also have plenty of fish. I have a 2 betta fish and a 45 gallon tank with tropical fish.

Aww, y’all have such gorgeous pets!

I

used to have three fancy rats and they were the sweetest pets in the world. My mother’s allergic to dogs and

cats, so I could only have smaller animals growing up. I’ve had just about every one you can think of, and rats

were by far the best. They’re smart, they’re clean, they’re sociable and they don’t smell, huzzah! When I

moved to Jersey, I had my two eldest, Clover and Merry-Cherry, flown over and I bought another one, Paris, over

here, and they were just amazing. Sadly, we found out my boyfriend was allergic to

them. He went on medication for a long time but it didn’t help, so we started looking for a bigger place –

which we found, but the landlord wouldn’t accept pets… <img src=“{SMILIES_PATH}/youwhaaa.gif” alt=“o_0;;” title="You

Whaaa…" /> In the end, I had to give them to the animal

shelter. I was so upset, but they made me so happy over the years and I know they’re making someone else happy

now, too.
It’s my personal hope that when Ratatouille comes out, more people

will realise what great pets rats can be. They’re got a bad rep, but you won’t find a more devoted or playful

small pet. They’re like really little puppies! (Plus they’re easier to toilet train and teach tricks

to!)

Here’s

Hope-

And

Keds-

I have

loads more but it’s tiring to resize and upload, especially when photobucket is pure evil =P

I thought I remembered you having a

tortoise, too?

Edit:

'specially since we just got a new one. Three leopard tortoises now, and one yellow-footed.

I have a cat, heres my mom with

her.

Pet disscussion! Can’t tell ya how much I love

talking about my babies :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Weeeeel, here’s Voodoo my dear kittah. He’s mad as a hatter, but then what

cat isn’t? Takes from his dear mum I

My new St. Bernard pups, Hercules (small

freckles) and Thor (larger freckles and more defined “teardrops”). These two can NOT make me angry!

They just give me that doe-eyed look, and I’m a pushover!

My gecko/roomie/partner in organized crime, Cinnabar! She’s

lovely ten year old leopard gecko I’ve had for a year now, and I hope to see her through college and my midlife

crisis  (they can live 25-30 years!)

I also have two sweet old labs (Washy and Molly <3), an ancient (but oh-so pretty!) st. bernard

called Odin, a Great Peranese mix with two different eys (brown/blue), a sweet, anti-social chubby tabby

(Haley!), and a gorgeous tabby/persion mix named stormy (charcoal grey fur hence the name)
No pictures

available for these sweeties, but that will chance with my new camera!

*bigger pic of Cinnabar coming

soon!*

LOL, my gran has a fear of black cats, thats why we got a little long haired

tabby.
