The teaser trailer isn’t awful, but isn’t good, either. There is no plot revealed in the teaser.
In my opinion, the film will not really be that good, and looks very unnecessary.

I haven’t seen any of these movies, but something’s telling me this one isn’t really a good idea.
Exactly; at the moment, Shrek Forever After comes to mind.
You know what, I am looking forward to this film. Without Will Turner and Elizabeth Swan, I think the plot will have more to grow and develop. I’m also very interested in seeing all of the new characters.
Johnny Depp’s acting in this looks plain awful.
Plus I’d have to have a bloody map. Or a bloody mary. Or both.
Also, they can’t even come up with an original plot! The film is based off the book On Stranger Tides. The only difference from the book is adding Jack Sparrow and that’s why Will and Elizabeth aren’t in this!
I was very sad to hear about this originally, despite not even being a massive Pirates of the Caribbean fan. I enjoyed the trilogy and thought it worked well, so to add another segment to the story without several of the key characters is unnecessary. I can’t see this working out well at all.
The title just sets me off - On Stranger Tides. That’s like one of the lamest titles since Tangled!
I like POTC, but not as much as a lot of other people!
I think it looks really good. I absolutely loved the first three movies, and I’ll without a doubt see this opening week. Let’s just hope that they don’t mess it all up.
Not gonna lie, I love all three, and want to see this.
This is why we are friends.
I’m very glad Will and Elizabeth aren’t returning. They’re story is done and there’s no need to add anything to it. This should allow a fresh start that can focus more on Jack and some new characters and hopefully recapture the magic of the first Pirates movie.
Jack, as far as I care, is the main crux of the Pirates movies. Everything else is just bonus.
It’s just a quick blurb meant to be seen by only Comic-Con attendees. It’s not supposed to win any awards.
Elizabeth annoyed me a lot, so I’m glad to see her go.
Hi, guys! Did any of you see the brand new trailer yet?

What do you think? Excited for Captain Jack Sparrow’s next adventure?
I just watched it right now, and I’m actually a bit excited.
I think it’s neat we’ll be seeing mermaids. The dangerous true to the original fable ones, not the foofy fafa red hair kinds.
I’ve honestly never been this excited for a movie in a long time. As much as I hated the constant scenes of Will and Elizabeth in the first trilogy, I loved all three movies. This movie seems to me like it should be the best of the bunch based on what is already known, and even if it fails I’d still like to see it.
I was a skeptic at first, but the trailer converted me! I mean, mermaids, zombies, and Blackbeard. How can you go wrong? As has been said, moving away from Will and Elizabeth will definitely strengthen the film. I heard that the previous director was leaving, so we’ll have to see how that affects the movie, but if the trailer proves anything, that won’t make a serious difference.
I don’t mind these films continuing as long as they continue to have strong plots. I truly hope that when these films run their course, they will go off on a high note, rather than continue into infinity whilst growing progressively worse.
I agree. Will was okay, but him dying threw me off. And I never liked Elizabeth.
I’m kinda sad to see Elizabeth go, Keira Knightley is one of my favorite actresses and I loved how she went from being kind of “Caribbean royalty” to becoming the pirate king, but after seeing the trailer, I think that this will still be an amazing addition to the Pirates of the Caribbean saga. Plus, the mermaid is GORGEOUS.
I’ve only seen The Curse of the Black Pearl, and I liked it. Still, why do they have to milk the series even more by making a fourth one? I think it’s best if they just leave it at three. If they keep making them, they’ll just keep ending up failing. I’m not really expecting this one to be successful with the critics…
I’m sorry, but Elizabeth really annoyed me. I pretty much hated her. But I’m pleased they’re keeping the important female character thing going. It’s impressive, particularly since the vast majority of POTC fans are male (I’m an exception ).
